Easy Pie Iron Pizzas


  • 1  loaf of bread (sliced)
  • 1/4  c  margarine or butter
  • 2  c  shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2  c  sliced pepperoni
  • 12  oz  pizza sauce
  • 8  oz  sliced mushrooms
  • other pizza toppings


Butter one side of two pieces of bread. Lay one piece, butter side down, inside the pie iron. Add pizza sauce, desired toppings and mozzarella cheese. Lay the other piece of bread, butter side up, on top of the toppings. Close the pie iron together and place in a hot but not flaming portion of the campfire. Use a spot that will cook the iron surface evenly. Rotate the pie iron often. Cooking time will depend on the heat of the fire. Allow time for pizza to cool after removing it from the pie iron.
