This Mendocino / Fort Bragg Campground and RV Park is the perfect California beach camping vacation destination!

Located on the famous Mendocino Coast near Fort Bragg, this California RV park and campground has its own private beach! Walk for miles at low tide past beautiful rock formations while waves wash the beach. Unwind with a good book and enjoy a glass of wine at sunset.

Of course, kids and doggies love the beach. Wade, surf, boogie board, or play frisbee. Surf and boogie boards are available to rent.

Another feature of this 50-acre park is a year-round creek graced with many willows, pines, and redwoods. Kids love to ride bikes around the park, explore the creek, and fish from the campground bridge.

Turn your RV into your own beach front home in one of these Northern California campsites. Both RV and tent sites are also available in our "park area," which is sheltered from the wind by large willow and pine trees.

We allow a limited number of tent sites on the beach for a genuine California beach camping experience. Thrill to the sound of crashing waves all night. Of all the KOA's and all the Mendocino camp grounds, this is the only one with its own private beach.

Accommodations: Our accommodations include 75 full hook-up RV sites, 50 tent sites, and 5 group sites. Choose from beach area, creek side and park area. If you are tent camping, choose between shaded creek-side tent sites or camp on the beach. The Westport Beach KOA is a great choice for a family camping vacation, a family reunion, a group get together, or a romantic getaway.

Looking for an easier, no-fuss get away? Reserve one of our bluff-top Mendocino rental cabins! Each cabin has two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and living room. Cabin 1 has a deck with a fabulous view of the bluffs and beach; Cabin 2 has a beautiful yard, great for kids.

Local Area:  Nearby, explore the Redwoods, tour historic Fort Bragg, kayak in Noyo Harbor, and enjoy the Town of Mendocino. Ride the "Skunk Train", ride horseback at 10 Mile Beach, or tour the Botanical Gardens, just to name a few of the many activities and attractions that are available in our area.

Weddings:  Our private beach is a popular site for weddings, and there's plenty of space for your guests at the reception in the event tent!

Wildlife

A walk on the beach is a birdlover's treat with so many shore birds, seagulls, osprey (2 mating pair live nearby!), vultures, and more! Explore tidepools containing starfish, crabs, and the ever delightful hermit crabs!

Play on the Beach!

Kids love to play on our sandy beach! It's perfect for throwing Frisbees, footballs, flying a kite, and just playing in the sand!

Volleyball!

Play volleyball on the beach! Pairs, fours, families, there's always a game on. Horseshoes and bocce ball are also available.

Kids' Bikes

Kids love to ride their bikes around the campground. Our 50+ acre park, creek, play area, and more give them enough space and interesting areas to occupy them for hours. Kids bikes are available to rent.

Our beautiful private beach is located on the world famous Mendocino Coast, near Fort Bragg, California! Walk for miles at low tide; thrill to the sound of the waves, soak up the scenic beauty of both onshore and offshore rocks.

Ice Cream Social

Every Saturday evening from Mother's Day to Labor Day, we serve a kids' ice cream social, serving 2 scoops of ice cream, toppings, and lots of fun.

Local Attractions

Kayaking and Canoeing

Kayak rentals and tours are available in both beautiful Noyo Harbor and the Little River areas. Liquid Fusion has popular bird watching tours in Noyo Harbor (707-962-1623). You'll almost always see a sea lion! Mendocino Tours offers an adventurous Sea Cave Kayak Tour (800-208-4421).

Hiking and Biking

Nearby there are a variety of trails. One of the best on the California Coast is the Old Haul Road, an 8 mile coastal trail that strecthes from Pudding Creek in Fort Bragg to Ten Mile River. Park just south of Ten Mile Bridge (6 miles south of the campground), go down to the beach trail and follow the old road south. You can eat lunch in Fort Bragg and ride back! What could be a better day?

Skunk Train

The world famous Skunk Train boards in Fort Bragg for amazing views along an old logging rail line. Unbelievable views are capped by a BBQ dinner at an old loading area in an untraveled river canyon.

Point Cabrillo Lighthouse

Established in 1909 as a navigation aid, the lighthouse contains a Third Order Fresnel lens which has been restored to operation. The surrounding 300 acres headlands is a preserve with walking trails and breathtaking views. Located 3.5 miles south of Fort Bragg, turn right on Point Cabrillo Road, wind around the residential area, and turn right on Lighthouse Road.

Wine Country

Located just 5 miles south of the campground on the beautiful Mendocino Coast is Pafic Star Winery. Breathtaking views and an opportunity to taste their selection of wines make this winery an irresistable combination!

Historic Fort Bragg

Originally established in 1855 as a small military post, Fort Bragg quickly evolved into a thriving port for the redwood lumber and fishing industries. The hisoric district is definitely worth an afternoon of shopping and dining!

Fishing and Whale Watching Charters

Fort Bragg's Noyo Harbor is famous for its high quality fishing charters. Once one of the busiest salmon fishing harbors in the state of California, regulations have limited commercial fishing. The fish are still here, however, and even more plentiful for individual anglers! Whale watching is also very popular, and awe inspiring. Here's but one choice: Noyo Fishing Center (707-964-3000).

Glass Beach

Over 30 years of pounding surf has smoothed and polished these colorful little nuggets. Find little treasures and explore tide pools.

The only public garden in the continental US that sits directly on the Pacific Coast. There are many spectacularly beautiful walking paths and a wide array of flora. Located in Fort Bragg, a short distance south of Highway 20.
