"We empower our staff to do what it takes to make customers happy."
Why did Dick Barnett decide to become a campground owner? "After 15 years tenting, eight years in a pop-up trailer, and two years in a 33-foot trailer, owning a campground was the next logical step!" says Dick.
Dickson Barnett, campground owner, and Judy Slusser, campground manager, make it a priority to create a friendly atmosphere between their guests and campground staff. "I empower my staff to do what it takes to make customers happy and impress guests with our helpfulness and friendliness. I want our guests to tell people about the great time they had at the campground!" says Dick.
Both Dick and Judy have spent most of their lives learning how to make people happy. Dick spent 25 years in the TV sales and service business, then 15 years in accounting and finance. Judy worked in the food service, hospitality, and beverage industries for 30 years.
"On the morning we went to finalize the purchase of the campground, a white swan landed on the lake," says Dick. "This was the only time a white swan has ever been seen on the lake and seemed like a good omen."
In his spare time, Dick likes to travel and explore new places, and he enjoys reading for pleasure. "I love music! As a teen, I played guitar and was in a band. I would love to find the time to start playing the guitar again."
