Sandstock - A Tribute to Rock & Roll
Sandstock A Tribute to Rock & Roll, is a beach-inspired variation on Woodstock. National and regional tribute artists will crank out hit after hit on two beach stages at the Virginia Beach oceanfront! All performances, which are free to the public, will be held on dueling stages on the beach at 24th Street, adjacent to the 24th Street Park.
Beach Street USA Nightly Entertainment
Sidewalks and street corners are the stage at Beach Street USA. Musicians and novelty acts perform along Atlantic Avenue, the Main Street of the Virginia Beach Resort. From 7:30 pm-11:00 pm, an eight-block corridor of Beach Street USA transforms into a magical world of its own that is part circus, part outdoor music festival, and part family fun zone.
Hardee's Latin Fest
For two days, Virginia Beach celebrates the sights and sounds of the Latin experience. Hardees Latin Fest possesses the key ingredients of good food, family participation, and first-rate Latin music.National performers electrify the diverse audience with high-energy tunes that move the crowd to dance under the stars. Local and regional Latin acts (each with their own loyal fan base) take the stage and unite festival-goers with the rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, and Jazz. All performances will take place on a giant stage on the beach at 24th Street.
Stars & Stripes Explosion
Multiple live performances on oceanfront stages attract tens of thousands of visitors and residents of Hampton Roads to a star-spangled salute to this great country of ours at Stars & Stripes Explosion! From 8:00-9:30 pm, musical acts offer something for everyone at a stage erected right on the beach at 20th Street. The show segues into a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30pm.
Chalk the Walk ARTsplosion
Chalk the Walk takes over the Virginia Beach Boardwalk from 10:00am-5:00pm as hundreds of artists and wanna-be artists gather to turn the boardwalk into an impromptu canvas of color! Artist registration will be on the boardwalk at 17th Street, and art will be displayed for two blocks between 17th and 15th Streets.
Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge
Crabs race on a specially-designed circular track, where all the crabtestants are placed in the center. At the sound of the starting horn, crabs scurry to the outer ring of the track. Whichever claw crosses the line first wins. Its the survival of the crabbiest!Crab is King at this one-of-a-kind event thats fun for the whole family! [b]The Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge was named to TripAdvisor.com's 2010 list of the Wackiest Summer Events in America and to the New York Daily News 2012 list of the top 10 Wackiest Festivals in the WORLD.[/b]
East Coast Surfing Championships
ECSC is a major amateur event for the United States Surfing Federation. Each year, several hundred amateurs from menehunes to masters compete for East Coast surfing titles, prizes, history and the sheer love of surfing. Other beach oriented sports and recreation include skimboarding, volleyball, a boardwalk 8K run, street skate and ramp contests, swimsuit contests, food and drink concessions, and live music on the beach.
Africana Virginia Beach featuring FunkFest
FunkFest is a three-day celebration with lively entertainment, cultural presentations, children's activities, business seminars, health and wellness displays, food, art, and shopping. Funk Fest will remain the heart and soul of this weekend event, featuring music generated over the years by influential legends such as James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, and The Ohio Players.
Verizon WIreless American Music Festival
3 Days. Over 30 bands on the Beach! The sounds of rock, jazz, country, blues, R&B, and more flood the Virginia Beach oceanfront for three sun-filled days over Labor Day Weekend at the American Music Festival presented by Chevrolet. Rock 'n Roll Marathon
Half Marathon, 2 Person Half Marathon Relay, Mini Marathon. Starting line is at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St., with the finishing line at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Blues at the Beach

Holiday Lights at the Beach
McDonalds Holiday Lights at the Beach brings joy and wonder to Hampton Roads every holiday season! Take a shiny journey into nautical, holiday, and adventure lands all along the beautiful Virginia Beach boardwalk. Festive fish, jumping dolphins, frolicking porpoises all in bright, colored lights against the clear night-time sky. They are joined by Santa, elves, and a 40-foot tall Christmas tree erected on the beach and in the beautiful parks along the Virginia Beach boardwalk between 2nd and 24th Streets.
Holiday Parade at the Beach
Officially ushering in the holiday season at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, the Holiday Parade at the Beach features giant balloons, marching bands from area schools and the community, lighted floats, equestrian units, fire trucks, performing dance groups, motorcycles, and of course, Santa Claus himself, to present a dazzling and entertaining night of fun for all ages! Begins at 5:30 pm from 15th to 25th Streets.
