Stay at Virginia Beach KOA...Pay for Friday, May 12 and get Saturday, May 13 for only $10! All proceeds from camping fees go to support KOA Care Camps which provide a camping experience to children who are undergoing cancer treatment. We'll be incorporating Mother's Day and our annual Home Educator's Appreciation into this jam-packed special weekend!
Virginia Beach KOA loves homeschoolers! Since you make many sacrifices, we want to honor you by giving you a get-away weekend… with a special deal, plenty of fun for all ages, and a chance to build some great family memories. Not a home educator? That's OK—all campers are welcome to join in the fun!
Volleyball players take over the campground this weekend! Spectators are welcome to come and watch: $8 per person entry fee at the gate goes to KOA Care Camps, which give a camping experience to children who are undergoing cancer treatment. Participants register at www.thedigs.net.
This event is a tribute memorial for Devon Grube, a highly decorated US Navy SEAL who lost his life in December 2016. Devon was a great father, husband, son, friend, and inspiration to thousands. Devon leaves behind his wife Margie and 3 young children.
This event will raise funds for the Grube family and Operation Once in a Lifetime in support of Families of Fallen Service Members. It will host many Kansas City BBQ Association competitors from around the nation who specialize in award-winning ribs, brisket, pork, and chicken. This 3-day event will include plenty of food, fun, and music with special artists performing.
An annual weekend of family-friendly fall fun, right at the KOA Campground! Includes fall games and crafts, pumpkin picking, hay wagon rides, Glow Costume Party, and more.
The Virginia International Tattoo, long regarded as the most patriotic of the world's great military tattoos, is a massive performance featuring a cast of 900+ from around the world. Performing groups include military bands, bagpipers, drill teams, dancers, choirs and more. The Virginia International Tattoo is the largest tattoo in the United States and thrills and inspires audiences young and old each spring.
The oceanfront will come alive with the sounds of “positive/alternative” music. This completely family-friendly event will feature Christian/positive artists offering a variety of musical genres, including well-known national recording artists like Matthew West, Plumb, and Manic Drive, as well as local bands. The event concludes on Sunday at 10am with a church service conducted by Reality Church of Virginia Beach.
Kite fliers and spectators of all ages will experience a visual feast at the annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival. This popular event features a variety of activities appropriate for all ages and all levels of kite aficionados. “Colors in the Sky” is the theme that participants will explore in the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival's “Best Kite Contest.”
The Virginia International PAN Fest is a musical adventure set to the soothing sounds of steel pan music. The festival's casual atmosphere appeals to the island community and people of all ages who are intrigued by the unique sounds and style of steel drum music! Fusing together the rhythm of steel bands, ocean breezes, and great international food, the breathtaking Virginia Beach oceanfront becomes an “island paradise” for the weekend.
Monsters are taking over the beach at Monsters on the Beach! This wildly-popular event brings thrills and chills to the Virginia Beach oceanfront as monster trucks battle for ultimate sand domination! This family-targeted event is loud, fast, and exciting. A course is built right on the beach at 6th Street, with bleachers overlooking from the boardwalk. Sand dunes and junk cars combine to make the race course fast and fun for drivers and spectators alike. This is a ticketed event, with prices designed to fit the family budget. Each of the four shows is approximately two hours in length.
Beach Music Cruise-In, combining bands on the beach and cars on the boardwalk, blends the best of the “oldies” with dancing under the stars in a jam-packed blast to the past! Settle into the sand as the top Beach Music bands from up and down the East Coast descend on the Virginia Beach oceanfront in a nostalgic salute to the “good old days” of cool cars and hot tunes. Stroll the boardwalk to view classic cars, hot rods, antiques, and more.
The Pirate Party on the Beach returns to the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill 17th Street Park at the Virginia Beach oceanfront for two rollicking days of music, mayhem, and more! This family-friendly event features activities designed to bring out the “pirate” in everyone. Costume contests, games, a treasure hunt, and pirate re-enactors all combine to celebrate those scallywags we all wish we could be: pirates.
Salute to Summer is an unabashed “Star-Spangled” salute to great music, fun in the sun, and the men and women of the military who have sacrificed their lives throughout our history.Enjoy free entertainment on three outdoor stages featuring live music by local and regional bands.The “Heroes Walk” display stretches along the boardwalk from 16th to 32nd Streets. Original essays written by local high school students are reproduced on four by eight foot banners easily read by passers-by.
The Patriotic Festival celebrates the military at The Virginia Beach Oceanfront for three days of national touring artists concerts, military expos and displays. The Concerts will be at 5th Street and Oceanfront Friday and Saturday Evening and Sunday Afternoon.The USO Military Expo Village at 17th Street & Oceanfront will showcase the mission, equipment and personnel through exhibits, demonstrations and displays on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 15th Street to 20th Street. All branches of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard will be participating.
For two days, Virginia Beach celebrates the sights and sounds of the Latin experience. Latin Fest possesses the key ingredients of good food, family participation, and first-rate Latin music. National performers electrify the diverse audience with high-energy tunes that move the crowd to dance under the stars. Local and regional Latin acts take the stage and unite festival-goers with the rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, and Jazz. Headline performances will take place on a giant stage on the beach at 24th Street.Spend your Saturday morning at the Zumba Marathon, where dozens of the area's finest instructors will be ready to show you some of their favorite moves.
Multiple live performances on oceanfront stages will attract thousands of visitors and residents of Virginia Beach to a “star-spangled” salute to this great country of ours at Stars & Stripes Explosion on July 4! Scheduled live entertainment offers something for everyone: patriotic and classical to tribute bands, and naturally, fireworks!
The Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships is a major professional and amateur event for the East Coast. Each year, several hundred surfers from Menehunes to Masters compete for East Coast surfing titles, prizes, history and the sheer love of surfing. Other beach oriented sports and recreation include volleyball, a boardwalk 5K run, street skate and ramp contests, swimsuit contests, food and drink concessions, and live music on the beach.
The FunkFest Beach Party is the heart and soul of this weekend event, featuring music generated over the years by influential legends such as James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, and The Ohio Players. Funk is an American musical style that originated in the mid-to late-1960's when African-American musicians blended soul music, soulful jazz, and R&B into a rhythmic, danceable new form of music. Funk brings a strong rhythmic groove of electric bass and drums to the foreground. Funk music was a major influence on the development of 1970's disco music, and has even impacted house music and hip-hop.
The American Music Festival is a celebration of music of all genres. This festival, held annually at various stages along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and Boardwalk, features three days of music, dozens of vendors, and over 20 national, regional, and local bands. Many of the concerts are free and open to the public.
