Local Area Recreation Near Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA Holiday

Vernal is better known as Dinosaurland, because of its proximity to Dinosaur National Monument. There are so many spectacular sites to explore and special events going on around town, that you'll never be bored here.  Great rafting awaits on the Green River and the fishing is world-class.  A short drive takes you to the Ashley National Forest with hiking and biking trails readily available. Rodeos, county fairs, concerts and outdoor theater are slated throughout the summer for your enjoyment. Our staff can direct you to the nearest petroglyph's as well as historic ranch sites for exploring. Head up the road just a few miles and explore Red Fleet State Park, where you can enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, cliff jumping, or water skiing.  Or if you just want to pack a picnic and get back to nature, we can definitely direct you to some hidden gems. Or spend some time in the campground pitching horseshoes, playing volleyball, mini-golf, banana bikes, swimming or the jumping pad!  It's time to relax and enjoy the scenery and Dinosaurland is the place to do it.
