Meet Your Hosts
"Looking forward to summer in the mountains!"There are times in life when things seem meant to be and simply fall into place and that is what happened for Verona Rojas. After working for municipalities and school districts for many years, she was looking for a new adventure. She’d been cloistered inside offices for years and, in addition, had been caring for a family member. Verona felt the need to explore and wanted to find work that provided not only a variety of challenges but some of the ordinary experiences as well.
As fate would have it, she and her husband started roaming around the country and checked-in at the Reno Boomtown KOA for a few days. She heard about the work kamper program and decided to stick around for a while. She was hired as a housekeeper, then moved to desk clerk, and then to a bookkeeping/assistant manager position. Each job gave her the opportunity to view the camping lifestyle and RV park business through new lenses.
Next, Verona moved to Texas to become the assistant manager at Dallas/Arlington KOA, working into the General Manager role. Currently Verona is excited to take on a new campground -- Trinity Lake KOA. She can say with certainty that her experience working at a variety of positions as a KOA team member has been wonderful and fulfilling. Friendships have developed and are nourished through mutual lifestyles and experiences. Each day new people walk into her life as daily visitors, long-term guests or staff members. In fact, each and every day is unique unto itself with new people, new situations and new opportunities. No day is ever like the previous!
