We enjoyed our stay at the Townsend KOA. We enjoyed the playground, grassy area near the river and easy access to the Townsend walking/bike path. We found the sites to be good size and well maintained. While the shared shower space does have individual shower rooms the concept was an area of concern for us, but thankfully we were able to mostly rely on our camper for bathing and bathroom use.

Had a wonderful stay everyone was helpful. My German shepherd really enjoyed the dog park. Rv spots were well maintained. We will be back!

My husband and I got to the campground and our truck broke down. The staff was amazing, and we even extended the site stay so our camper could stay there. Jason, Jim, Bill and Mary were absolutely amazing. Jason, Jim and Bill checked on us every day to see if there was anything we need. Everything was amazing in spite of the fact that our truck broke down.

We had a Great Week Camping in Townsend. The Park was Beautiful and Clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful!!! We will definitely be coming back. 02/26/24

We had such an amazing stay and we’re so surprised by how nice everything in the campground was, as well as how friendly the staff were. The campsites were pristine, staff up at the gas station even offered cheaper firewood from the KOA then what is offered in the gas station. The grounds have massive trees and a river/island on the back of the campground that was fun to play in and around!

This was our third visit and we will definitely be back! The only small issue we had at site 81 was that the sewer riser wasn’t level with the ground so it took longer to get it to drain. Not a deal breaker by any means. We loved being next to the river and hope to do so again.

We have stayed at this campground before and enjoyed it. Jim was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, a large limb fell on our camper, breaking our awning frame and ripping the awning about two feet. No one offered to help even though one of the workers came to tell us he saw all the damage. It's disheartening that they just didn't care. The female manager was very unfriendly.

Nice & clean. Only challenge was we tried to change reservation a few days before & they did not answer calls or return voicemails.

We were there for 14 days and the staff was very nice and friendly and the bathhouses were clean and well kept. It is nice to be able to put your garbage out to have it picked up. We had a river site which was awesome. Also it was nice that the staff built a fire everyday at the pavilion. In the mornings when it was cold and I was walking my dog, we would go 8n there so I could get warmed up.

Really appreciate the campground workers. The fireplace pavilion was a life saver for our family winter trip. The pavilion was a haven in the snow and cold weather to gather. Eat and play games all day long since the inclement weather had park roads shut down. Thank you so much for saving our vacation.

One of our top 5 camp grounds If I may suggest to adding little trash cans to collect dog poop. Thanks for the little bags No one wants to take it back in coach’s .

Staff could try to be friendly. They seen a little cold towards guest. Except the young lady at the camp store. She and the guy with one arm were very friendly. The lady at the check in building not so at all.

We visit the Townsend KOA as often as we can. It is always so peaceful and relaxing. It is so close to several places to visit like Cades Cove, Elkmont Ghost Town, fishing, sightseeing, hiking, biking and on and on. The staff are excellent and helpful if needed. I look forward to going back soon.

We had a riverside patio that was very level, clean, and spacious. Perhaps if it was a tad bit warmer we could have enjoyed it a little more. Even a roaring camp fire couldn't warm up cold hands.

This campground is one of our favorites. We go every year. The riverfront sites are awesome and the campground location near Cades Cove is the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

Absolutely loved our campsite (#9)...Great view of the river....Staff was nice and kept everything spotless...My husband loved the Shower rooms..very, very clean! Nice...we will be back for sure. Townsend is the quiet side of the Smokies and we have stayed in Pigeon Forge before, prefer Townsend hands down. Just a short drive to Cades Cove...loved it.

First time staying at a koa. We have only stayed in state parks which we love. Everything was great on our visit! A+ to all the staff and everything really.

This is a "Holiday" KOA so it has amenities for campers who stay away and look for entertainment. It is just outside and entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The "Little River" flows by the edge of the campground then into the National Park. some sites back up to the river. There are many trees in the campground. The bathroom and other building facilities are dated in design but clean, neat and spotless in appearance. I feel the whole campground is well maintained. I have a high-end site, $100/night but I like the space. All sites are gravel. Mine was in excellent condition. Very quiet at night. No AT&T cell service but the campground WiFi worked very well all the time.

Very quiet and peaceful. The bath house is to far from the camping cabins though.
