Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival, April 19-20, 2013
The Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival features workshops, classes, and demonstrations centered around spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet, felting, paper, basketry, and other fiber crafts. There are also art exhibits, family activities, sheep-shearing, and Border Collie sheep-herding. The Festival takes place at the Townsend Elementary School, Townsend Visitors Center, the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, and area galleries.

Festival featuring bluegrass concerts, clogging, arts and crafts, Applalachian skills, family fun, BBQ and other good food

North American Flute Gathering
Renaissance of the North American Flute Foundation Gathering. If you enjoy Native American flute music, this event is for you. The biggest names in this music genre are here. Held at the Townsend Heritage Museum located about 1/4 mile from here.

All things Ford F-150 Truck show. Held about 1/2 mile from here.
4th of July Celebration and Fireworks
For a small town this is a big show! Great family fun in a nice atmosphere.
Fall Heritage Festival and Old Timers Day
September 27 and 28, 2013. A celebration of the traditional music, crafts, and heritage of Townsend, Blount County, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Activities include bluegrass music and clogging, mountain music jam sessions, storytelling, antique tractors, family activities, crafts by local artisans, great food, and demonstrations of a variety of traditional skills including basketry, quilting, weaving, sorghum molasses, apple butter making, apple cider, beekeeping, and blacksmithing.
