Campground Reviews

Aug 01, 2015
You do the best you can with what you have, but there is much to be desired about this campground.
Aug 01, 2015
The stay was great the cabins were clean. The pool was well taken care of. The only thing is it would of been nice if you had things for older children to do through the week. I know you had arts and crafts for the younger children But wouldnt been nice if there were more for the older ones to do to keep them interested more. The stay was lovely and everyone there was very friendly and out going.

It was great until the employee cutting the grass sent a stone through our kitchen window.

Beautiful Campground. Very well kept - we loved it! We'll be back!
Jul 31, 2015
Les installations, toilettes et douches sont très propres. La proximité de l'autoroute 401 fait qu'on entend constamment la bruit de la circulation. Le personnel à l'accueil est très courtois.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed in. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were extra clean. We appreciated the "attention to detail" that is obvious at this KOA.

Great Kampground. The only thing preventing a 5-star rating is the lack of water pressure at our campsite.

We had a problem with the water pressure at times as well as the elctricity (30 amps). The new bathrooms are beautiful and we hope the electrical system is the next to be upgraded.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Hi Karen, thank you for the comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed our newly renovated washrooms. We have addressed the issue with the water pressure, thank you for bringing it to our attention. We plan on continuing upgrades to the park. Have a great day. Juli Potter, Guest Services Manager

This KOA has improved immensely over the past year. Previously it was on our "never to stay there again" list. Current Issues:Often 0% water pressure Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun in the AM. Power: 30 amps. We tripped the breaker at least 4 times in our first 3 hours. Lifting the cement block was difficult and managing the water heater with no water, air-conditioner(s)and everything else was a chall

handy but noisy location. New cabins good but expensive. Service/staff great. Need better coffee maker for cabins

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Hi Linda, our convenient location can be a bit noisy at times. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the new cabins. We know how important a morning coffee is and will look into how we can improve on that! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Juli Potter, Guest Services Manager

The owners are really trying to improve the park and doing a good job from what I can see. As far as the hi-way noise, it is loud but what do you expect, it is right beside the 401. Convenience sometimes comes at a cost.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Hi Todd, thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our convenient location can be a bit noisy at times. We hope to welcome you back in the near future so you can continue to see the renovations and improvements to the park! Juli Potter, Guest Services Manager

nice park but 1 suggestion is to try to improve your water pressure
Jul 27, 2015
No water pressure but the site was nice

We had an amazing visit to the Toronto West KOA. The staff members were excellent and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The trails through the marshlands, campfire and kids activities kept everyone entertained and happy. In the words of our youngest camper on our trip, "This is the best day of my life!" Thank-you!

Greeted by friendly staff, always smiling. Bathroom are nice & clean, looked like they were recently renovated. Nice play structures for the kids. Be prepared for noise as its next to 401. Not an issue for us since we were in a trailer. We were unaware about the $10 cash deposit required for an access card for the gate if returning late in the evening. About 1h to downtown Toronto & Wonderland.

Water pressure is a major issue. Hundreds of thousands spent on cabins but nothing on water, when I pay for it? I do love camping at this KOA and will be back every year!
Jul 27, 2015
The staff are extremely friendly and passionate about what they do! even the campers all seem to be friendly and festive. very glad I found it and plan on returning many times.
Jul 27, 2015
The site itself is fine.New bathrooms are the nicest I have ever seen at a campground. Our Kabin was old. It smelled terribly musty our first night. The lot was mostly mud and very small. New kabins sat empty. Why we weren't placed in a new Kabin when the site is practically empty is beyond comprehension. The main issue is the highway. Too noisy. We will never stay there again.

The deluxe cabin had everything we needed. Staff was great. Highly recommend Christine's nature walk. My son loved the mining adventure.
Jul 26, 2015
excellent site Close to To & Pan Am games
Jul 26, 2015
reserve computer unreliable confirmed by mass confusion on arriving guests, water pressure negligible on 2 night stay, park sewers backward to what rv setup, management appoligized for all above and promised improvement. FIRST TIME STAY, afraid to stay at other KOA DUE TO THIS EXPERIENCE.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Easy access to the 401. Bathrooms were very clean. Kids loved the playground and pool! We stayed here during Pan Ams and had a great time.
Jul 24, 2015
Great accommodations...clean washrooms and kitchen. Very friendly and helpful staff!
Jul 24, 2015
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wish the noise of the highway wasnt so prominent and wish the pool was open.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Amanda, thank you for your feedback. The pool being closed was very disappointing, thank you for being so understanding of a situation that we had little control of. I do hope you and your family were able to enjoy the water activities we ran until the pool was opened. Juli Potter, Guest Manager
Jul 22, 2015
We had a great 1st camping experience! It was great to be outdoors and close to nature while having a comfortable cabin to go to. Our 8 and 6 yo enjoyed the bunk beds & our 5 mo old was able to take a break from the sun as needed. We love that we have our own bbq and fire pit where we've made our first s'mores! The kids want to go back next year! Thanks to all the friendly staff as well!
Jul 21, 2015
We didn't actually spend much time at the site, but the staff was helpful with info on exploring Toronto.
Jul 21, 2015
Our stay was amazing! Beautiful cabin with everything we needed, my kids had a blast at the pool and all the play grounds, the staff were amazing. We will be returning for sure. Thinking of coming with a group in the near future. We have already recommended KOA west to all our friends.
Jul 21, 2015
People were great lack of water pressure a bit of a problem
Jul 21, 2015
It was my first time camping in Canada, and I'M must say my family and Ihad an awesome time. We intend to make it our new family tradition in regards to building memories. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a unique family atmosphere that I enjoyed very much. We had such a good time, we can't wait to do it again soon and for a longer period. Keep up the good work. Thanks!
Jul 20, 2015
The new owners are really working hard improving the campground. We saw a big difference from when we were there 3 years ago. Way to go!
Jul 20, 2015
Very nice campground, nice people, top notch facilities and activities! I would highly recommend this campground and will likely make it an annual summer vacation. It was very convenient to all Toronto activities but still in a nice area. One downside was being right on a major highway was a bit noisy but you got used to that.
Jul 20, 2015
The owner, managers and staff were delightful and extremely open friendly & caring. The activities planned for our 4 & 7 yr old grandchildren were terrific. We felt they were in a safe environment. Needed a bit more gravel on our site due to rain bu definately a must do again weekend.
Jul 20, 2015
We all enjoyed what they had to offer we were glad the pool was opened even though it was after 4 we had a great time
Jul 20, 2015
all the staff there are wonderful. very clean and friendly. only thing I did not like is being able to hear the traffic on the 401. Very nice stay thank you.
Jul 20, 2015
Friendly staff, clean washrooms, lots of activities for the kids! My family and I stayed in K1 Cabin. Unfortunately there was a very heavy rain storm and the cabin was leaking in several areas, especially over top of the bunk beds. Thankfully no one was sleeping there. The pool was closed because the phone line went down. The staff handled it very professionally! Overall we enjoyed our stay!! €
Jul 20, 2015
our stay was very pleasant and all the staff were nice and help full. Will go there again.
Jul 20, 2015
4 families, 3 cabins - we requested for them to be close together. Request was not to our satisfaction. As a result, it was difficult to monitor 7 kids. A/C broken in one of the cabins. Swimming poor broken on the hottest day. We were overcharged $230, which we were refunded.

This KOA campgroud is right next to Highway 401 and the sound of the cars is actually pretty loud. If you're looking for some quiet/calm, this is not the place for you. Also it was a real hot day(35 degrees) and the pool was closed till 5pm (because the emergency phone - Bell was out of service). I understand this is the law, but made our stay not so pleasant. Hosts are nice + kid friendly

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Doyel, thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our convenient location can be a bit noisy at times. We understand that the pool was a huge inconvenience. I do hope you and your family were able to enjoy the sprinkler, water fights and other games we organized to help beat the heat.
Jul 20, 2015
Advertised as GTA, "toronto" campground but 1 hour from downtown when traffic is light. Sites by highway are right next to 401: very noisy.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Jennifer, thank you for your feedback. Our convenient location on the 401 can be a bit noisy at times. We are the closest KOA to the heart of the city, however, given the size of Toronto, it is a bit of a drive. Juli Potter, Guest Services Manager
