Welcome to the Tallahassee East/Monticello KOA. Looking for an easy pull-through, full hookup site to accommodate that big RV motor home with towing? Our KOA is Big Rig and slide-out friendly! All of our sites are pull-through and are just the right size to fit your home on wheels - whether it’s a Class A, Class B conversion van, 5th wheel, travel trailer, tent trailer, pop-up/pickup camper, camper van or even your bike/motorcycle.

We also have cabins and cottages that offer you quiet comfort with grills and fire rings right outside your door and close access to pool, playground, store, recreation room. Wi-Fi is available at the office, rec room, patio and pool area. Cable TV is available in the rec room. Just order up some firewood at the store and you're good to go! Our large tent area provides you with plenty of shade, convenient access to fishing as well as camping kitchen. You’ll enjoy our lake stocked with bass, bream and catfish. Explore the nature trail, meander around the lake right past our waterfront Camping Cottages or enjoy a cool dip in the pool. South's Most Haunted Town - Ghost Tours

In October of 2003, Monticello was designated by ABC News as the "South's Most Haunted Town". Ghost Tours offered by Big Ben Ghost Trackers. These professional paranormal investigators lead 90-minute ghost tours of Historic Monticello starting at the Monticello/Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. Tours feature a ghost hunt, ghost stories, cemetery walk and a ghost workshop. All tours conveniently located within a 10-mile radius of Tallahassee East KOA. These historical Monticello homes are available for tours: John Denham House - 555 W. Palmer Mill Road; The Daffodale House Estate, circa 1897 - 620 W. Washington St.; Palmer House – Corner of Palmer Mill Road and S. Monticello Opera House

Envision a magnificent theatre filled with music, laughter and thundering applause. This was the ongoing dream and vision of John Perkins. Built in 1890, The “Perkins Block”, as it was called, was built and owned by Perkins. Spread across three first floor bays, the magnificent masonry structure housed thriving mercantile interests, including a general store, sewing machine shop, hardware store and farm implement supply store. The second floor of the Perkin’s Block hosted the visionary opera house, opening out into a large foyer and the largest stage in the area. John Perkin’s vision continues today with hometown glitz and glitter dazzling you with unparalleled acoustics and theatrical productions. On September 14, 1972 the Monticello Opera House was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. For hours of operation and upcoming events please call (850) 997-4242. Jefferson Art Gallery/Jefferson Arts, Inc.

The art gallery is located at 575 W Washington Street about 6 miles from Tallahassee East KOA off US 19 S/South Jefferson St. in Monticello. Monticello Vineyards and Winery

The Winery offers more than 18 varieties of Muscadine grapes grown on the farm. All wines made with 100% organically grown grapes and all grown on-site. During August and September, you can pick fresh grapes on the farm. Each wine is a "one-of-a-kind" product of place, labeled with the classic Jefferson County Courthouse and the ingredients - organic grapes. The Winery is located approximately 3 miles from Tallahassee East KOA in Monticello off Hwy 259 – 1211 Waukeenah Hwy. Open Saturday, Sunday and Monday: 8:00am - 6:00pm. Closed Tuesday - Friday and Major Holidays.

Monticello Karting and Motor Club

Looking for something exciting to do with the family? Why not try a kart rental at nearby Monticello Karting and Motor Club or participate in the upcoming Florida Kart Championship Series races. The club is located approximately 13 miles from Tallahassee East KOA off FL-10 E/US-90 E/E. Washington St. at 1765 Big Joe Road. Closed Monday,Tuesday,and Wednesday. Open Thursday and Friday from 1pm to 7pm, Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm.

Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park

This state park is home to Florida's largest and oldest Native American Mound. Enjoy the quiet tranquility of bird watching, picnicking and hiking the natural trail around the ceremonial mound. The park is located in Jefferson County, approximately 6 miles west of Monticello off U.S. 90 - Sunray Road. Open from 8:00AM to sunset.

The Jefferson County Kennel Club

JCKC, in June of 1959, held its Inaugural meeting making JCKC one of the longest running dog tracks in Florida. JCKC offers greyhound racing, turf club dining and poker room for your enjoyment. The track is located approximately 10 miles North of Monticello at 3079 N. Jefferson Street. Open Monday – Saturday with gates opening at 7:00PM.

Wheeler's Nursery

If you are enticed by bright colors, pottery and eclectic pop art then make this part of your Tallahassee East KOA stay and Monticello adventure. This roadside shop is filled with one-of-a-kind treasures from hand-blown glass, ornamental iron, yard decorations and carefully handcrafted jewelry imported from Mexico. Wheeler's Nursery is located about 5 miles from Tallahassee East KOA Monticello off US Hwy 19 S at 2432 South Jefferson St.

Wacissa Springs

The Wacissa River is a large, spring-fed stream located in south-central Jefferson County in Monticello, Florida. Recreational activities include swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, fishing and birdwatching. Canoe and kayak rentals are available at Wacissa Springs Livery located near the entrance to the Springs. Located approximately 15 miles from Tallahassee East KOA South on Hwy. 259 then take a left onto Wacissa Springs Rd. Open year round.
