Campground Reviews

Staff was great but most sites on gravel with few site amenities like grass, trees and room. Trying to put too many units on sites too close together. The older bathroom needs work while the new one is great. Still there aren't many options in the Key West area.

Nice stay, terrific bathrooms and clean. Disappointed in wi-fi and how close units were to one another.

The best thing about our stay was the excellent staff.

Extremely close campsites but very nice grounds and amenities. Really enjoyed the luau!

This KOA is really nice. We very much enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion is that they invest in more chaise lounges for the pool area.

Great showers and restrooms

Although the sites were pretty close together, the staff was very helpful in getting us parked safely. Otherwise, a great place to stay and see Key West.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Convenient right on the water with marina. Sites are a little tight but ended up being fine.

We stayed in one of the Airstreams and had extreme difficulty opening the windows. We got one open but even the emergency exit wouldn't budge. I did report this to office.

This KOA was just okay. Campsites are really tight, close enough to Key West. Ann was awesome at checkin, asked about staying beyond our reservation and she found us another spot. Then there was Pat, wow, should not be working front counter. When I tried to move to the next spot, she said the computer moved to a different spot, still occupied. Pat finally made it happen after 30 minutes of BS.

We were at a site that reminded me of an off ramp of a major interstate. Every new arrival stopped outside our door burning fuel and making noise and pollution for us to enjoy. They have no Internet even tho say you have free wifi. You get what you pay for. The beach is nice and one of the bath houses is nice and clean. Don't ask about the other one. The NoSeeUms were brutal.

Worst KOA to date. May as well have camped at Walmart-Mart. No grass, no trees, no fire pit in our $100 deluxe site. Crammed in like sardines,Barely enough room to unload our bikes. So close to the sewage pumping station that was all we could smell one night. Have stayed at far superior KOA's for 1/3 of the price.

Warm welcome. Very expensive for cramped site. Excellent cable. Poor wi fi

Rental Unit 105 has a ANT Problem. Had a Box of Donuts on the counter and the next Morning it was infested. also Hair dryer didn't work. Both roof Air conditioners need serviced they are real NOISY. Plus I stayed 9 days and not once did anyone ask me If I needed bed change or fresh towels or paper towels refilled. Other than that it was pleasant.

Friendly staff and nice, clean restrooms and showers. The only thing to mention: the office closes at 5pm and that is too early.

I made a mistake using this CG between Christmas and New Years. They turn no one away! The result is tent campers are packed in like sardines. This was the worst camping experience of my life. The bathrooms were wonderful.

We like our RV site #173. We liked your location. We love to fish so we were in a good location. The KOA Staff were all very polite and highly professional. We will return. Larry and Patsy Kleiner

Pat Hastings was great, helped us with all of our needs including extending our stay and moving camper locations once a more suitable location came available. Great asset to the KOA.

Positives extras such as pub, restaurant (breakfast lunch) docks boat rental, good location, frendly workers, negatives too expensive, tight spots, marginal wifi

Friendly people...........but pricey for a campground.
Jan 11, 2015
Staff was nice . . . price was ridiculously high for tent camping!
Jan 11, 2015
Friendly atmosphere, very clean, nice pool and hot tub.
Jan 10, 2015
Camper section is a parking lot, tent area is nice in the "red zone". Nicely located to Key West but double the price of any other KOA to stay.

This was our first time here. We loved it. We loved the ocean view and swimming. The bathrooms, showers and laundry area were immaculate. The Pub was a great surprise with great live music during the Christmas Holiday week. Everyone was so friendly, especially the staff. We can't wait to come back next Christmas!
Jan 09, 2015
We enjoyed where we slept. We didnt enjoy the Pub. The service was slow (waited 35+ min. for food), also ordered before table and they got food first. Bartender was very rude. She saw we needed service, but stayed in the back doing something for more than 5 min. while we stood there waiting. A no refill sign should be put in place for non alcoholic drinks!

I will not stay at this campground again. Granted it was busy, but when I reserved a "camp site", I expected just that. A site to pitch my tent, park my truck, a table, and a fire pit, I got cluster xxxx field. This site was an empty section for everyone they sold admission to set up a tent and park a vehicle-if you could find a spot. No designated area at all, no privacy. Not pleasant at all.

Great place to stay, Wish we had more time to spend here.

We wanted an escape from the cold weather and found a slice of heaven in the Sugarloaf Key KOA! The staff was very courteous and helpful. It is worth the cost to get a deluxe space. Areas of improvement (and these are MINIMAL): Lazy Lizard cafe is only open a couple hours a day (breakfast and sometimes lunch) and the bar only offers wings and pizza during "dinner" hours. Will be back next year!

Wonderful. Great staff and awesome location. Hope to return.
Jan 08, 2015
deserted campground with beach not suitable for Swimming and paying extra for Little Service like coffee etc. making it unreasonable prizes over all. not enough for a paradise spot on the Keys.

The park is large and eventful. The staff did an excellent job maintaining the park and keeping such a large group of campers happy by hosting events (i.e. cookouts, bands etc.) during their busiest time of the year. The sites are small and you camp under very close quarters. We had one encounter with a group adjacent to us but the management corrected the situation to our satisfaction.

I've been enjoying the New Year's week at Sugarloaf Key KOA for 20 years, and every year it gets better, despite it being one of the busiest times of the year. Terri and Ann were very helpful in dealing with our large group. Kudos gang!

Loved the bar, loved the pool and the location.
