Campground Reviews

We normally tent camp but we rented a fancy cabin this time and it was amazing! We love KOA and all they have to offer. Staff was super nice and accommodating, grounds were well kept and we just loved the river access.

If it wasn't for ONE THING, I would rate this KOA five stars all the way. We had a great fairly spacious site, the staff was exceptionally friendly, the river was lovely. BUT. They charge $5/dog/day. In an RV site. WHY?!? It's not like the dogs can harm anything or use "amenities". It makes no sense and made our $69 site and $85 site for no reason. REALLY stupid policy.

One of the best KOA's around. Great facilities, neat and clean. Very helpful staff

The people were friendly and they tried to be helpful. The men's bathrooms were pretty good the guys rate at 7/10 . The women's bathrooms were pretty good. The laundry room was kind of small 4 washers and 6 dryers for the whole camp.

The koa itself is good. We had an unfortunate event while we were there. To stay an extra night we needed to move sites. We asked if we could move at 10:30 or since our kids were in a soccer tournament. Told no problem, we asked at 10:30 and said it wasn’t ready and 1 was good.Got a call at soccer field that we had to move now, we did and no one ever moved into our old site all day!

Loved the campground. It’s a great location and you can even tube the Yampa from town to the campground. My only complaint is the new sites across the River really need some trees and grass. Very hot over there in the summer months. So trees would be a huge help. Otherwise we loved our stay.

Beautiful grounds, great store stocked with lots of food items and souvenirs. The groundskeepers were actively taking care of the area and folks and they were very personable. Bathrooms were clean and the water pressure was perfect. The pool was well kept and everyone was respectful. Great location. We loved our camping spot with the full patio and fire pit. We will definitely be back.

It was awesome. We’ve been coming to this koa since I was a kid.

We LOVED everything about our stay at this KOA. The staff is incredibly friendly!

Although we made a same day reservation, the spot we were put in was functional, but less than desirable. It backed up to US-40 with it's constant traffic noise. The spot was surrounded by a broken down fence with endless weeds. I know this is an older KOA, but it needs a little love and attention. The staff was friendly.

We came to steamboat to visit friends in Craig. This KOA is so great! The pool was clean. The bathrooms (only used the island ones) were clean. Our site was very well maintained. We saw very friendly staff everywhere!!! When we had a question or request it was answered or handled immediately. Also, thanks for the frequent poop stations with bags!

My family and I will definitely be back at this KOA. We have stayed at several KOAs and this one is by far the best! Great location to town, you can float the river right into your campsite. The bathrooms and cabins we stayed in were very clean. The staff were also super incredible and very friendly.

It started out rough with one old guy short hair gave me a bunch of crap while unloading our motorcycle, said we were blocking the road, other vehicles were driving by just fine SAFELY, but everyone else was great for our 3 days, we didn’t appreciate having to wait till 2 pm to check in or pay $25.00 extra. Campground was very clean and tidy!

All good except bathrooms...not well kept, seldom cleaned during our 4-day stay.

Great park with relatively level site. Our site was shaded, which we loved. The only downside is the dump station which needed a good spray cleaning. Would definitely stay again, but only if we can get a full hookup.

Really appreciated the tall shade trees. Staff is great, friendly and responsive to questions and special requests.

I really liked the tent site. The staff at the shop was friendly.

Great stay, will be back

Clean park with all the amenities you would need, even a shuttle into town!

Everything was great! Only issue is they have very few showers, and need to be cleaned more often. We checked in around 5 pm on a Tues and the same garbage and dirty toilets 24 hrs later. We did mention it and they were cleaned immediately.

Great staff!

The only complaint is that the pool is too small! :)

If you have kids, this KOA is a destination. There's so much to keep them busy!

They tried to put us in a site that was on just weeds. The bright KOA sign was on all night next to our bedroom window. The sites are all full of weeds, no grass. Every site faced another camper. It was loud with lots of dogs barking a children screaming.

We loved our cabin and how clean and fully supplied it was! We loved the pool too! The staff Beth and Scott were very friendly and helpful with everything! We’ll see you next year!ϋ

Would love more trees on the island. It’s beautiful, but needs more shade. And what a great trail through town along the river. It would be fabulous if one could catch the trail from the campground. Love, love, love that the town shuttle comes right to the campground. So incredibly handy for RVs without cars!

We were testing out the Winnebago Roam handicap assessable van to aid the dealer in the launch of the new product. The camp grounds was not really assessable for my wife with a power wheelchair. There was 1 family restroom clear across the facility, the handicap shower is not marked. Before all my post go to Facebook I'd be happy to make a few simple remedies. Rick 303-895-6511 Thanks

Cabin and bathroom facilities were clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful

They only care about rv space and not motorcycle tent camping spots. No grass, never been watered, and have to set my 750 dollar tent on gravel.

Awesome

We LOVED this park. Very clean, friendly staff. The small store has anything you might need. Beautiful to walk over the bridge and see the river flowing through the park. We also loved that the city bus comes to the park and takes you into town for free. Our only recommendation is to possibly mow the grass in the dog park so it is easier to clean up after your dog. We will be returning!

Beautiful site. Fantastic views. Very friendly staff. Out dogs could swim in the stream that was right behind our site. I’d come back again! We always get a patio site. It comes paved with a table and 4 chairs, plus two Adirondack chairs and a grill. Fantastic.

Beautiful campground with lots of amenities. My son had a camping spot and I had a deluxe cabin-both were awesome. The cabin was cleaned and well-maintained, with kitchen supplies, toilet paper and soap. Staff were great, contacting us to give details for late check-in. Store next to office is great!

Great option to stay in town in the winter. We travel in our Sprinter 144 and there are not a lot of options for stealth camping in the winter. On one of our nights the temp dropped dramatically and well below the forecast. Woke up with a nearly dead battery and some diesel that was gelled. The staff supplied me with a trickle charger and a propane heater to point towards the undercarriage. Got the engine running in now time. The guys there helped me out big time.
