Tent Reviews

This is by far the worst campground in which we have ever stayed. The entire campground smelled like sewer. Consequently, we were accosted by hundreds of flies. In addition, the camp is very close to a busy and noisy highway. The campsites are very tiny so there is very little privacy. I think you would be better off sleeping in your car than staying at the Sheridan KOA.

Great campground/facilities.

There were a few problems with water in the toilets and showers, and the heater in the pool failed, but they were temporary and quickly fixed. Staff were fantastic and the sites are great. There are even shelters for the tables at the tent sites!

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and the site very beautiful.

Our stay was fine, but the mosquitoes and train noise were forces of disruption!

Terrible place. Tent sites adjacent to interstate overpass, on-ramp & frontage road. Vehicle noise, especially trucks all night long. Reserved site with credit card. Wanted to pay cash upon arrival. Card already charged and computer in office not working. Turned sprinklers on at tent site before we had departed. This was at 9 AM. Check out is supposed to be 11 AM?

We stayed in the tent area which had a constant odor of sewer smell and the picnic table/benches were a bit old and dirty. They also had old food on the ground and ketchup spilled on the table. I would not recommend staying in the tent area.

women's shower stalls were kind of sketchy in terms of cleanliness.

Nice staff, a bit noisey with the highway traffic, but have had worse. The grounds need a lot of work, charcoal grills full of ashes, twigs appear to be mowed up rather than picked up, and mowed trash is evident. Bathrooms/showers were clean and well kept. Understand not having the pool open at dawn, but noon seems a bit overzealous of keeping the noise down, if that is the reason.

Dirty washrooms and loud late night campers.

We enjoyed our night in Sheridan. Our tent site was comfortable with a picnic table and fire pit. The campground was easy to find and close to town. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff.

The staff was friendly. The wifi was useless. The facilities were clean and well maintained and they park was full.

Although sites are pretty much on top of each other, I had just a couple of tent neighbors and they spread us out - a little bit ahead of season. Tent sites had private covered tables which could be used for cover in storm. Much debris on ground that was not raked up; I had to clear an area for my tent so the floor/ground cloth would not be punctured. Clean bathrooms.

The staff was friendly, the restrooms clean, and the place was easy to find. My only dislike was the proximity to I-90; it made for a noisy night. Otherwise, this KOA was fantastic!

We arrived rather late in the evening, but the campground was very clean and I enjoyed our short stay. The restrooms/showers were in excellent shape. Thank you.

we were on a stop over and didn't have much shade but that was because a previous hail stor knocked off a lot of leaves

Had a great time! A bit crowded at times, wish there was a little more space between sites. Mr. Ray, was a great resource as to what to see and where to go in the area, that man is a real asset to your camp. Because of his insights we were able to see the Shell Falls, lake Shipley (where I caught the biggest fish I had ever caught), and we were able to see a mother moose and her baby.

Special circumstance: they will know what is referred to by THE hail storm. I guess they reacted okay except in one regard. They should have been offering a refund for those who didn't want to be stuck in a place where most of the leaves had just been dumped onto them and so many vehicles had such extensive damage: not their fault but people staying there should have had the option to leave.

It was just "OK". There were no spigots anywhere for us to fill our 5-gal water jug. I understand that because we were there in Oct, they probably had things "winterized", but it seems like they should have at least something in the main building. Also the men's restroom was not kept very clean or stocked with toilet paper. Had to swipe from the hand towels a couple times for toilet wipers!

Train tracks... I should know better than to stay in KOA's, they are always near train tracks. The tent area was gross with bird/bunny crap. Hot tub and pool not available.

Facilities were nice, but people who had pets were walking them in the tent area and not always cleaning up the "mess." Additionally, posted signs said the bathrooms would close at 11am for cleaning. The employees closed them early, which interfered with our use of the facilities. They opened them again when requested, but were impatient to get started cleaning (they stood outside the door).
