Only heat treated fire wood is permitted to be brought to the Saugerties KOA. We do have firewood for sale in the store during store hours.
Visitors are permitted to visit you at your site for no charge. There is a $5 per person charge if any of the park amenities are going to be used. This includes but not limited to the pool, playground, miniature golf, disc golf, or any of the park activities. The visitor fee must also be paid for guests staying overnight. Guests are responsible to register at the office upon arrival to the park.
Because of our strict drinking and party policy we get under the skin of a few campers. Some of these campers have chosen to trash our park on the Campground Review Blog sites. Much of what they write is true but only to them because they refuse to follow the rules. The blog sites give people with an axe to grind a place to try and hurt us. We cant even offer a response. They wrote about the nasty owner but only after we asked them to leave the park for not following the rules

A quiet place to kick off your shoes and relax. We have fun for everyone! The Hampel's bought the KOA campground in 2005 and like the side benefits of a seasonal business. "We don't mind working real hard for the summer and having a couple of months off to enjoy ourselves. This gives us time to afford travel in the winter months while the park is closed.
The rebuilding of the Saugerties/Woodstock KOA was one big family affair. The boys have grown up and are active in their own careers and raising their own children. We are blessed to have multiple grandchildren. You might even find our grandchildren visiting and playing in the bounce house or reorganizing the merchandise in the store.
Despite waking up each morning to a thickly wooded campground, the Hampel's say they are still taken in by its beauty. "It is a very natural campground," Wayne said. "Gail and I walk the trails regularly and see all the wildlife living on the grounds."
After a decade of running the park we will now be turning the next page by working with KOA to market our park as the Saugerties/Woodstock Journey KOA. We will still be working on making improvements to our park while concentrating on the overnight and short stay market.
Thank you to all our friends and customers that have made our first 12 years a success.
