Campground Reviews

Jul 20, 2015
The staff was awesome and accommodating! There was so much for the kids to do that even though it rained everyday for the 8 days we were there, (not all day though), the kids always had something to do :-)

Very nice cabin and nice campground as well. We stayed here for a weekend with our kids and enjoyed our trip.

Park model cabins are bit disappointing & need updating inside. Futon almost not usable it is too soft.(we used an air matrs to make usable 16" tube tv.First cabin didnt even have curtains on bdrm windows. Resv 3 bdrm cabin and settled for 2 bdrm in better cond. The grounds are nice & being updated for tow alongs but attn needs to be on park models first. cust srv not as high as at other KOAs

The staff was friendly the grounds were very neat and kept clean showers were clean just an all-around great experience we stayed there for five days will be back next year thank you

The campsites were way to close with little privacy. The camper next to us had a slide out and took a portion of our ground to accommodate the slide out. Way too cramped
Jul 20, 2015
Trop bruyant, pas de respect sur le volume de la musique des voisins : pas de patrouille, et ce, sans parler du train qui passe sans arrêt : jamais je ne retournerai à cet endroit. De plus, terrain totalement boueux....
Jul 20, 2015
Only thing: please enforce your quiet time. Few people needed a reminder of common courtesy.

Cabins were well priced clean and comfortable. Staff was nice . Prices were great
Jul 20, 2015
Stayed in a 6 person cabin. I thought it was very reasonably priced and right by Cedar Point.
Jul 20, 2015
I understand that the site I was on was new and still under construction, however I did not expect it to have a mud hole on it. I spoke to management and it was fixed. All other amenities were great as expected at a KOA.

Ok place, but expensive for what it is. Some of the staff needs customer service lessons.
Jul 20, 2015
The stay was comfortable and great. The store was well stocked and had everything we forgot. They seemed to have a problem with the ATM but the staff were very apologetic and reassured us they were in the process of fixing it.

A great place to go , very clean and family oriented
Jul 19, 2015
Staff was disorganized. We paid for a full hookup but did not have sewer. If you are looking to overnight, this KOA is fine, but I would not recommend for an extended period.
Jul 19, 2015
Staff was unhelpful and full hook up site we had was lowest and underwater the entire week we were there. Moving to an open dry site was not an option. Don't stay here. Sites are extremely close. Just not happy with experience at all. The next time we are in Sandusky we will leave the 5th wheel at home and stay in resort.

More of a trailer park than a campground.
Jul 19, 2015
Great price, great location. Much better staying here than our experience several years back staying at a cheap hotel in the area while visiting Cedar Point.

When your company lists all the amenities a campground has on your website, it is expected those are provided. There was no cable TV. Management gave some BS excuse, but there was none provided or available. Wifi was expected it either did not work at all or was so spotty it was useless. When my wife needed to work she was unable to. Lastly, the sites are WAY too close together.

Our full hook up site was very narrow and uneven. The only place to put our picnic table so it would be level was up against our neighbor's camper. We could only use the fire pit with our awning in. The bathroom nearest to our site was not very clean and the entrance is shared with a trailer park. It is also near a train track. We have stayed at several KOA's and this was our worst experience

Cabins w/ three tents!? Too crowded, not enough amenities per camp space.
Jul 19, 2015
It was a very nice place. A lot of things to do for the kids, which gave us adults plenty of quiet time.
Jul 18, 2015
need more organized activities for kids and familie.
Jul 18, 2015
Our stay at KOA was great. When we checked in out tent site was flooded and the staff accommodated our needs and let us choose a site that was dry. The bathrooms were nice and clean. We did hear trains through out the night but they didn't really disturb our sleep. We had three small children with us and they had a blast fishing in the catch and release pond and riding their bikes on the trail.

RV sites are too tight (too close to one another). Restrooms/shower houses were clean and nice but the camp store, buildings and grounds were rundown. Biggest issue was the noise at night with the nearby railroad tracks. Did not get much sleep.....trains ran and sounded their horns about every 20 minutes.

We've stayed at numerous KOA's. This is by far the largest one. While I appreciate the security, they don't do much about enforcing quiet hours. The drunks fighting from 730pm until 2am was pleasant. When they were not fighting, they were playing music.

The closeness to çedar point makes this koa extremely convenient. Although not one of the newer koas we have stayed at, it was clean and the staff was friendly. The small 1 room park model cabin served our needs. We had 2 adults and 1 child. I wouldn't recommend any more than that. The only problem with the cabin was the the main breaker popped repeatedly.

Our family really enjoyed the new deluxe cabins that the Sandusky location had to offer. Some housekeeping items would have made our stay even more enjoyable. The fridge had water in both fruit drawers and the coffee maker had coffee grinds from the previous habitants. Every fire pit should have a grate. With there being no oven, it's nice to have the fire pit as an option to cook on. Thanks.

Location was very close to Cedar Point. The park is old and is not wearing it's age very well. You can tell that it was once a great place.
Jul 17, 2015
Awesome campground,we really enjoyed our stay.Staff was friendly, and professional.

We realize campground is under construction but area we were in was not and with the rain we had the water was ankle deep making it difficult to get into and out of unit and vehichle,
Jul 17, 2015
Location great. First use toilet backed up. Quickly and appropriately attended to by maintenance. Front desk girl excellent! (young blonde). No table and chairs in 3 bedroom cabin for 4 teens to play games. Brought us a card table and chairs! :) Only thing, blanket smelled strong of cigarette smoke. We were very happy campers!
Jul 17, 2015
The campground was very clean, we moved sites on our 2nd day, because we found a site that was higher & had gravel & grass, so there was less mud.
Jul 16, 2015
We have been there 6 times in the last 12 years and we always have a great stay.
Jul 16, 2015
Convenient to cedar point, but would drive a greater distance next time. Poor drainage, sites flooded and very muddy, sewer connection too low to make proper connection, pad too narrow for the trailer, site so narrow the neighbors awning was within 6" of our trailer.
Jul 16, 2015
Constant train noise made it difficult to sleep. Bathrooms were nice and clean. We liked the idea of a watch person on duty.
Jul 16, 2015
Love the cement patio but it didn't match with our trailer. Great if you have a center door, rear door-not so much. With rain, it was pretty muddy.
Jul 16, 2015
Everyone was very nice and helpful. The big bearded guy even gave us a couple movies from his private pile for the kids because it was raining. Very nice place.
Jul 16, 2015
Very polite staff and the facilities were clean. Over all good experience.
Jul 15, 2015
My husband & I have been coming to Bayshore for 16 years and we love it there! We rent the adorable rustic cabins every time. Bathrooms are clean and we enjoy the pool!
Jul 15, 2015
We stayed there 2 nights and went to cedar point during the day. The cabin and grounds were very clean and quiet at night.
Jul 15, 2015
The campground in general was outstanding, my lot, #86 smelled like someone had spilled fuel on the ground and was very strong.
Jul 14, 2015
every one was very friendly and the campground was very well kept also i felt that my family was safe.
Jul 14, 2015
It's a decent campground. The only thing is the camplots are too small for RVs. I hated to start a fire in my fire ring since there was a very expensive motorhome next to us. We tried moving the ring, but the lots are too small. Also, it rained really hard while we stayed. The campground needs better drainage. The cabins behind us, a few of the campground roads and even our site was flooded.
Jul 14, 2015
Thank you. Your staff work so hard. I enjoy my camping trips each time I come up to Sandusky. And this time around, I really loved your small cabin for the guys! Thanks again for all you do, to make it an enjoyable camping trip. This last weekend we celebrated my grandson's 4th birthday and he had great time with family and friends.
Jul 14, 2015
Price and proximity to Cedar Point are the big draw for this KOA. It lacks amenities but the staff are friendly and helpful.
Jul 13, 2015
Bathrooms where always out of toilet paper and paper towels. And not as clean as recent years.
Jul 13, 2015
Stayed in a Kabin--when the toilet started draining extremely slowly, I was told by the man in the office (7/8) to come get the plunger. When I refused, he said someone would come out, but no one did. That evening, I went to the office in person and the young man there sent the maintenance man right over and it was taken care of. There was a leak around the A/C when it rained. Rain=ponds of water

This KOA is not big rig friendly. The sites are very small and hard to maneuver. We had to have people move their vehicles so we could leave the next morning. The site next door had a huge dog that was chained but came onto to our site aggressively approaching our little dogs. For small trailers this campground might work but for motor homes not so much. As a KOA VIP member will not be returning.
