Clean restrooms and excellent pool.

The campsite facilities are o.k, but the location is awful. Right next to a main and busy road, a train nearby blowing its whistle all night and close to the main airport. We have been awake all night. The tent places are put to one side, quite sandy right next to the fence with a busy road on the other side. So for tenting not an attractive place. Nice in the center of SLC though..

Like most KOAs the focus is on RVs not tents. Tents are set up along a very busy road with small sites.

Great place to stay. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

We had a great 3-night stay: great customer service, clean facilities, pool, playground, basketball court, TV room--we used and enjoyed it all. They did well with EVERYTHING that is in their control! ...the only thing we didn't love is really out of their control: the TRAIN NOISE. It's loud, and long, and early, and I'm still amazed my kids slept through it! It was an affordable way to do SLC!

Only problem is site had cigarette butts and ashes. Daughter was shocked by electrical outlet. Other KOAs had grills already at tent site free. Bathroom a bit small and needs air conditioning. Overall enjoyable stay.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for your comments. We will do a better job of walking the sites between rentals. To do this we will change our check in time to 1 pm so we have time to check them. We aim to improve with every change. Thanks.

This was my very first tent camping experience ever. I was up against a fence with a road behind me, but despite that it was pretty quiet, and the place is conveniently located. I don't know what I thought KOAs were, but I was really pleasantly surprised by this place.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I love hearing about new camping novices. Congratulations and thanks for the kind comments. Vicky

Although we like this KOA, while we stayed at this park, we observed campers being allowed to set up tents in an area where dogs were permitted to due their business.

Facilities were nice. Bathrooms and campground were clean. Loud location in town, with the surrounding roads, traffic, and airport, but nice being so close to town.

Clean bathrooms, nice pool area, decent tent site. No complaints.

Super friendly staff that was helpful with the area and things to do. I felt safe at the site even in a big city. There was lots to do on campus and off.

Great location. With a friendly and helpful staff. Such a fun and busy place. Great to see a KOA that truly caters to all types of campers from Big RVs to Tenter. Clean and spacious restrooms and well grounds. We stayed here a week and loved it. Great job. The Traveling Compasses

Nice campground, nice amenities. The showers left something to be desired.

That campground is gorgeous , the staff is fantastic!!!!

Great location. Great staff.

As always, the staff are great! Unfortunately the location is bad. Noise from the main road, access road, airport and the trains made for a sleepless night. The trains blast their horns frequently! Could not sleep even with earplugs! Sorry, but a new location would be best for this KOA.

A great tent-in-the-city location with easy access to downtown and comfortable stay-on-site facilities.

ihave been to utah 7 times in last 14 yrs i always book my 1st and last nights at koa i have always found the staff friendlyand accommodating i ask to leave some bags with them to transport my bicycle in they have always been ok about that the site is in a good location for the airport and for going in to salt lake city

IT was safe, bathrooms were clean and it even had a showers! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because we couldnt find a fire pit to start a fire! Thanks for the great stay

The facility was very nice and the staff was very nice. My only complaint is that the tent sites were right next to a road that truckers were parking on at night and leaving their engines running. they are literally 15 feet from your tent and you could smell exhaust. It's too bad the tent site are not on the interior of the campground or that there was a parking restriction on that road.
Apr 13, 2014
why is it in the middle of a city? shouldnt be allowed to be called a campground. staff was nice though. also, expensive for tent camping.
Apr 08, 2014
This KOA was close to a main thoroughfare and the trains/city trams ran all night. We tented and the street lights inside the KOA were right above the tent spots. I thought it was miring when I awoke at 3 am from the street noise. Otherwise, the place was extremely clean and the showers were hot. It also backed up to a dog friendly trail! Good, not great for this visit!

You need a coffee place! Then it would be perfect!
Mar 29, 2014
The facilities and everything were very nice. We both enjoyed the media room and showers. I would not recommend a family member or friend to stay here because of the noise;trains, planes and buses all night. Other than the noise, it was great!

We had just purchased our first RV in Murray & went straight to the SLC-KOA. Friendly staff, clean restrooms/park. Will be staying again in June. Good thing we like trains! :)

The directions off I-80 East were good until we never saw Garsin (or whatever). The 1400 sign might be a better marker. Can we get off I-80 at Redwood Dr. in the future?

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I apologize for the directions being off in the directory. The city changed Garside to 1460 West after the directory had been printed. Luckily it is resolved in the 2014 guidebooks. Redwood Rd is a great exit to take off I-80 freeway. Thanks for staying with us and also taking the survey. Vick

The location is REALLY noisy, but that is to be expected since it is conveniently located in the city. Everything else was great!
Oct 09, 2013
No staff present to late check-in, code for restrooms only via phone call to toll number. Very noisy location, trains run by very close a couple times per hour with horns on, air traffic and streets noisy as well

Vickie was great in working with our Boy Scout Troop and making our stay so wonderful. She was more than helpful to our special request. The facilities were very clean and the tenting in the group area was very pleasant. Thanks for making our stay so delightful!!

These folks were extremely accommodating.

Wonderful experience. I was tent camping. The weather was windy and stakes were needed. The dry soil was too hard for me to get the stakes pounded in. The office sent maintenance to assist in putting them in and also in removal. Prompt, courteous, helpful! Well kept grounds. Close to the Family History Library! I hope to return!
Oct 01, 2013
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Restrooms and grounds were clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay there again.
