Been on the road for a while. We were so happy to finally pull in to a KOA. We had a great but short stay.
Aug 12, 2013
The grounds are clean and the folks are great! This is an older campground, so the sites are a bit cramped for newer rigs with slide-outs...Very convenient location for sight-seeing. We had a blast.

This campground is mainly used for long-stay campers, is only a concrete parking lot with hookups, and is located close to a motorway and gas station. It is not suited for vacationers and should not bear the KOA mark. Facilities are OK though.

Difficult entry into campgrounds. Sites were level. Park very clean.

Hard to find, close to the Highways

We have stayed here at KOA Salinas/Monterey, CA a year ago and we were very impressed with their hosts Larry Breaux and Raquel Breaux. Larry was there to assist us every step of the way as he did this visit. The facilities are well mainatined and super clean. Their staff is friendly like Perla the cleaning lady. It is always a pleasure to stay here because the accommodations are always great.

The management was nice and friendly. The campground was very clean. We didn't use the bathrooms and showers because we had them in our RV so I don't know how that was. The only thing that we didn't like was the noise from the 101 freeway and the pool closed at 8pm. I don't think we will return unless it's just for a night because it was just too noisy.

Close to Monterey and freeway 101. Nice pool. Enthousiastic personnel.

Very friendly staff

The picture was not really true to the campground. It was ok, but the staff was not really friendly, and I don't think we will stay here again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

All pictures on our website were taken in this park. Our staff takes great pride in the way we treat our guests. We want everyone to feel at home and have a good time during their stay. Sorry you feel you had a bad experience here.

The park itself was small and NOT spacious between RV's. Not many amenities. Pool was nice and laundry room was handy. No game room no large grass areas for children or animals. The friendly and helpful staff make up for what the park lacks. If you will be leaving the RV park to sight see then it serves its purpose to park the RV in a safe spot other than that not a destination camp spot.

Good location, but facilities where old and in disrepair. Playground was old and delapidated. The pool was dirty. This is not what I expected from a KOA. I compare it to the KOA in Wastonville. Much nicer and more like a traditional KOA.

Very helpful hosts and a very clean, well maintained campground. Tricky turn off from main junction so needs slightly better instructions as the road splits are not intuitive.

The Salinas/Monterey KOA is very convenient to many areas that we like to visit when we stay here. Moss Landing (The Whole Enchilada restaurant, Gilroy (Gilroy Garlic Festival), Monterey ( the Aquarium), Santa Cruz (Boardwalk and train). The restrooms are clean, the pool is inviting and the people are very friendly and helpful. The pull thru campsite is pretty bland but very adequate. No trees.

We felt like we were cramped. We had no private space to ourselves. The showers/restrooms are all uphill from the main travel spaces. Much of the camp parking lot in the lower section around 140-147 has huge potholes. The walk way has many areas were the divider boards between cement section are raised up and are trip hazards. the restroom ( Mens) is a step down into the restroom and no notice

Friendly staff and well maintained campground.

Uncomfortable and hily difficult to get to bathrooms. Would not stay there again

It was on our way from San Jose CA down south Hwy101. Not the nicest KOA we have been and where you want to stay longer especially with Kids. But friendly staff and overall ok.

Love the friendly staff and clean park. Wish I could move the whole park a quarter mile from the 101.

Very clean, quiet and nice. New fence has really helped cut the freeway noise.

Great facility. Larry was an absolutely great host. Clean facility, hot showers, close to shopping. Could use a little more powerful WIFI system, but I will definitely be back multiple times.

We have stayed at this KOA several times and have always felt welcomed. We'll be back!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Whenever you want to escape the "hot valley", you are always welcome here. It was our pleasure to have you stay with us.

Super accueil.

Larry and R are the real deal, friendly, helpful, really interested in your well being. Easy in and out. Parking lot blacktop on hill, real close to your neighbor. Old but well maintained.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your kind words. We love what we do and consider each guest very special.
Jul 22, 2013
Great place to park the RV. Not much of anything for the kids to do. Outdated playground was the only thing for the kids.
Jul 21, 2013
Property clean and nicely maintained. Check-in was a breeze, hosts were wonderful...always a smile, a wave and cheerful conversation...and super choc. chip cookies. We took side trips: Mission, Museums, Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, S. C. Beach Boardwalk, Mystery Spot, "The Farm"..(GREAT homemade pies. Couple quick stops at the "Giant Artichoke" for Fr.Fried Art. Hearts. Only downside: Traffi

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest and look forward to a return trip soon.

It was truly a pleasure staying at Salinas/Monterey(K.O.A.).The camp host Larry and his wife were very cordual, and polite, and ran the campground professionaly. Ron Massey

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your kind words. We are fortunate to meet some of KOA's nicest campers.

Staff was very helpful. Answer questions and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Would stay again and will recommend.
Jul 19, 2013
The staff was cordial. But the facilities were poor. The bathrooms were clean, but very Spartan. The shower heads were basically blowing mist and the one toilet in the men's area did not work. If you have knee issues, the up and down the steps will not be very pleasant.
Jul 18, 2013
Staff was really accommodating, centrally to the beach at Moss Landing, really clean park and facilities!
Jul 18, 2013
you need to trim up the trees and get rid of the pigeons

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You may have us confused with another park. We do not have any trees in the section you were in and don't have any pigeons at this location. Thank you for staying with us.
Jul 18, 2013
The hospitality and friendliness of everyone was great. Almost like being one of the "family".

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your kind words. When at our park, you are family. Come back and see us soon.
