Rusk Festival Train

Friday night, May 1, a roundtrip train will depart the Rusk Depot at 6 p.m. to Maydelle and back for a special local appreciation train ride. Saturday May 2, trains will depart the Rusk Depot for a roundtrip to Maydelle and back at
11a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Rusk Chamber of Commerce will be hosting vendors, a
Saturday 5K run "Who Let the Dogs Out" and carnival rides day and night on the Rusk Depot grounds.
Rail Fan Photographers Special
Saturday, May 2nd (night shoot, 8 p.m., Palestine Depot) and
Sunday, May 3rd (day shoot, train departs at 9 a.m., Palestine Depot).

Cushioned bench seating with windows that open and close.
The Rail Fan Photographers Special will include a Saturday May 2, night shoot, 8 p.m., at the Palestine Depot and a Sunday May, 3 day shoot. Steam engine for all events. The Sunday train departs 9 a.m. from the Palestine Depot. Price forthis two day event is $100 per person, ages 13 and up. Rail fans will have the opportunity to photograph a TSRR engine at several locations along the track.
Please wear close-toed shoes as you will encounter rough and rural terrain in
some locations. Coffee, juice and pastries will be served on board on Sunday
morning along with drinks throughout the day.

Treat Mom to a special day out with the family by taking her on a relaxing ridethrough beautiful East Texas countryside while enjoying a delicious brunch
served on the train. The train departs at 10:15 a.m. and returns at
approximately 2:45 p.m. Reservations must be booked by 5 p.m. Wednesday May 6th
17th Annual Salute to the Armed Forces TEXASSTATERR
This patriotically decorated train leaves the Palestine Depot at 10 a.m., 1p.m.and 3:30 p.m. for an approximately 1-hour roundtrip to the Jarvis Wye and
back. On the Palestine Depot grounds there will be flag raising and lowering
ceremonies at the flag pole on Saturday and Sunday. Booths, living history
displays, static military displays and re-enactment groups representing variouswars and conflicts. WWII group (Able Company) will be putting on a show on the grounds and on the train at the Jarvis Wye. All current and former military
with ID ride the Patriot Train free. Admission to the event is $10 per car.
Tickets are: Lone Star Premium - $30 Adult, $20 Child (ages 2-12) and children under 2 ride free. Standard - $20 Adult, $15 Child (ages 2-12) and children under 2 ride free. Food concession is available. *We want to honor those who have served or are currently serving in the military with a FREE ride on this
special train that will be decked out in red, white and blue.

The Texas State Railroad is pleased to present its newest signature dining experience on the Piney Woods Excursion Train, the Streamliner Diner. Reminiscent of mid-century rail dining, be treated to a delicious meal and spectacular east Texas scenery from our vintage dining rail car.

This special train offers passengers a pleasurable evening ride through our beautiful East Texas countryside while enjoying the opportunity to taste various Texas wines paired with a variety of cheeses. Wines will include Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Port. Train will depart from the Rusk Depot at 6:30 p.m. and return at 9:30 p.m.
Reservations must be booked by 5 p.m. Wednesday June 3rd.

Father's Day BBQOur Piney Woods Excursion has a special option for Father's Day and that is a delicious BBQ lunch at an additional cost of $15. This special lunch is done by pre-order at the time of making reservations. The special lunch includes either BBQ sliced beef or sliced turkey sandwiches with pickles, onion and sauce, a bag of chips, peach cobbler, tea or water. Passengers also have the option of bringing their own picniclunches. It's time to treat Dad to a great train ride and BBQ. Train departs Palestine Depot at 11 a.m.
July 4th Ride
The Teddy Bears Train Ride
The Teddy Bear's Train ride departs the Rusk Depot Friday, August 7, at 11 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. The train will run to Maydelle where the engine will turn around on our historic 1890's turntable and then return to Rusk. The ride will feature special snacks, children's music, teddy bear coloring book pages and more! Plus there is an opportunity to meet the entire Beary Bear family, including Boomer, our 10- year old bear made famous through this summer's Facebook postings about his many travels and adventures.
Children 12 and under who bring their teddy bears to ride the train with them, get to ride for free. Pricing for Standard Coach/Open Air is $25 Adult (ages 13 and up), $15 Child (ages 12 and under without a teddy bear) and Lone Star is $45 Adult (ages 13 and up), $25 Child (ages 12 and under without a teddy bear).

Pints in the PinesThis special Adults Only (21 and older) train ride will depart the Rusk Depot Saturday, September 26th offering a relaxing journey through our beautiful East Texas countryside. Passengers will have an opportunity to sample 8 beers/ales from Texas breweries with appetizers and live entertainment.
Reservations must be booked by 5 p.m. Wednesday the 23rd.
After a long day of mud riding come and rest here at the KOA and enjoy some swimming and camping fun.

The Fall Foliage Brunch Train is designed to give nature lovers the best opportunity to view this annual show close-up. This train departs from the Palestine Depot at 10:15 a.m. and returns to the depot approximately 2:45 p.m.
