Rusk Festival Train

Friday night, May 1, a roundtrip train will depart the Rusk Depot at 6 p.m. to Maydelle and back for a special local appreciation train ride. Saturday May 2, trains will depart the Rusk Depot for a roundtrip to Maydelle and back at
11a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Rusk Chamber of Commerce will be hosting vendors, a
Saturday 5K run "Who Let the Dogs Out" and carnival rides day and night on the Rusk Depot grounds.
Rail Fan Photographers Special
Saturday, May 2nd (night shoot, 8 p.m., Palestine Depot) and
Sunday, May 3rd (day shoot, train departs at 9 a.m., Palestine Depot).

Open air cars with large windows that do not have glass in them, wood bench
Cushioned bench seating with windows that open and close.
The Rail Fan Photographers Special will include a Saturday May 2, night shoot, 8 p.m., at the Palestine Depot and a Sunday May, 3 day shoot. Steam engine for all events. The Sunday train departs 9 a.m. from the Palestine Depot. Price forthis two day event is $100 per person, ages 13 and up. Rail fans will have the opportunity to photograph a TSRR engine at several locations along the track.
Please wear close-toed shoes as you will encounter rough and rural terrain in
some locations. Coffee, juice and pastries will be served on board on Sunday
morning along with drinks throughout the day.

Treat Mom to a special day out with the family by taking her on a relaxing ridethrough beautiful East Texas countryside while enjoying a delicious brunch
served on the train. The train departs at 10:15 a.m. and returns at
approximately 2:45 p.m. Reservations must be booked by 5 p.m. Wednesday May 6th
17th Annual Salute to the Armed Forces TEXASSTATERR
This patriotically decorated train leaves the Palestine Depot at 10 a.m., 1p.m.and 3:30 p.m. for an approximately 1-hour roundtrip to the Jarvis Wye and
back. On the Palestine Depot grounds there will be flag raising and lowering
ceremonies at the flag pole on Saturday and Sunday. Booths, living history
displays, static military displays and re-enactment groups representing variouswars and conflicts. WWII group (Able Company) will be putting on a show on the grounds and on the train at the Jarvis Wye. All current and former military
with ID ride the Patriot Train free. Admission to the event is $10 per car.
Tickets are: Lone Star Premium - $30 Adult, $20 Child (ages 2-12) and children under 2 ride free. Standard - $20 Adult, $15 Child (ages 2-12) and children under 2 ride free. Food concession is available. *We want to honor those who have served or are currently serving in the military with a FREE ride on this
special train that will be decked out in red, white and blue.
Texas Blueberry Festival
24th annual Nacodoches Blueberry Festival is on Saturday June 8-3 pm "The tastiest festival in Texas" is a celebration of local harvest and a things blueberry, with lots of arts and crafts, rides and naturally a "BLUEBERRY PIE EATING CONTEST.
