The bath rooms and shower were clean. Restaurants and gas stations were close. The tent sites are more of a sand than gravel. There was lawn outside the sand area for a tent. I would stay again, we were on a father a d son motorcycle roadtrip to Stugis.

Unlike past stays here, I was disappointed to find trash in my site (a dozen or so fresh cigarette butts in the fire pit and a nitrile gloves among other things) and the restroom wasn't in great order (it looked like someone washed a muddy dog/child in a sink). Still quiet and great privacy with the tent sites.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I personally apologize for the site not meeting expectations. This is unacceptable in our park. I will try to do better and ensure all sites are clean and ready for use. I will also increase the checks on the restrooms.

Based on some previous reviews when I arrived midafternoon I was not surprised that the campsites for tents were basically a desert. The tent sites are close together lacking shade and privacy. The prospect of hunkering down in my tent until the heat of the overhead sun gave way to the cooling darkness prompted my decision to find a motel room which I did.

Stay was pretty good, other than the crazy wind and really loud traffic all night. Really liked the wind/privacy barriers put up and the rail fences. They added a bit more privacy. Kitchen was a bonus, too. Could have used a few more showers for the size of the campground, and owner's house was right in the middle of everything and very messy. Ok for a one night stay.

The tent sites were nice and the showers were very clean.I had a very nice discussion with the hosts. A very nice couple.

Good for a quick layover from (I - 80) not so good is they apartment building looking over the tent sites. Recommend to plant trees for privacy around the perimeter.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

There is a power line above the row of hedges we currently have to block the apartments. The power company will not let us plant trees back there and cut a big part out of the one we have. We are hoping the hedges do grow more.

This site has too much wind and highway traffic noise near for tent site camping. It would be better to stay in their cabins because of wind and noise. I should have found a site that blocks the wind it seems always windy in Rawlings Wyoming and lacks any vacation camping enjoyment.

The family who operates this KOA were wonderful & offered great service. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the kitchen was helpful. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is because while the location is very convenient to the highway, it is not the most picturesque location. The tent sites are also a little awkward with small fences partitioning off sections which were awkward.

Park was very nice. Make sure if you are car camping that you let them know. We were assigned a tent spot only but they were VERY quick to give us another space.

Nice enough place to stay. Sand camp sites are a terrible idea though. Prefer the grass ones at every other KOA we stayed at.

Sadly, we are in a desert last year e were not allowed to water anything outdoors, grass will not last in this environment

The owners of this KOA are friendly and helpful. It was windy in Rawlins--often is--so be prepared for that if you have a tent (we were glad for upgraded tent stakes). This is a comfortable place, I'd recommend it.

Unfortunately we had a thunderstorm come through the night of your stay. It was a pretty bad hour of weather very tough in a tent. I hope the weather is nicer next time.

Beautiful sunrise! Campground is much better appreciated in daylight. We arrived late in the evening and had some difficulty finding our tent site - black letter and number on brown colored fence. Gravel surface was comfy and easy to pish my stakes in.

Loved the pavilion as it rained almost non stop on my trip. A place to get out of the rain and wind as I was tenting. Nice clean, warm bathrooms and friendly staff.

Staff very friendly. Campsite well groomed. Needs for shade in tent areas. Showers and restrooms need to be improved so all available and functioning.

This KOA was horrible. We arrived at 5 o'clock local time and the check in office was closed. We found the after hrs check in and got to the tent site. This was very disappointing with rocks and mud for the base. Our group ended up getting a hotel in the area and not stay at this KOA. Rawlins KOA is a never going to stay again KOA.

We arrived late, but could see that this KOA had slots for all kinds of camping. It’s arid in the area, so don’t expect grass - you’re in the true west! The facilities were clean and communication was good!

Unfortunately, bad weather slowed us down earlier in the day, so we did not get to arrive early and get to really know your kampground. We put up a tent and promptly fell asleep. We were up early the next day and back on the road to continue our travels. I must say, I really did like the idea of the kamper kitchen! I'd have loved that if we could have stayed longer!

Enjoyed my stay at Rawlins. I originally scheduled a two night stay but due to complications in my plans my stay was stretched to four nights. The staff accommodated my requests quickly and efficiently, I thank them for making the changes easy and without fuss. I would stay again without hesitation when my travels bring me this way again.

There was a drunk man that was harassing me and I had to leave. I did not feel safe

We moved you to the site farthest from him and right next to the managers house so people would be near you at all times. The situation was your word against his. We heard him use language that was not nice and asked him to stay in his cabin while talking on the phone. He complied to every thing.

This KOA was closed (end of March, 2024) from burst waterlines but they let us stay and use the electric hook-up. Very much appreciated since the weather conditions were bad and we didn't feel safe driving to the next location. good folks. thanks!

On the road and called in just a couple hours before we got there and they made us a reservation and had space. People were super nice and it was a nice little park. Left pretty early so I don't really know how everything really went but I thought it was great. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
