Very nice park. Love the wine tasting. We only stayed one night and they have plenty of pull thrus so we did not have to unhook tow vehicle.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for taking the time for leaving us a review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Point South KOA. We look forward to hosting your next stay when you travel our way. Happy Camping! Jennifer ~

Stayed in a cabin. Nice and clean. Had a grateful time wine tasting and even bought a bottle of wine. Will stay here again when in the area.
Dec 13, 2016
The staff at Point South was very accommodating and made our stay, only one night, very enjoyable. When we head that way next year, we are already planning to stop here again.
Dec 13, 2016
Stayed for one night. Very pleasant personal. Great wine tasting. Everything you need is right there for a one night stay. Price ??? Would definitely stay again. In April on our way through. Very clean establishment. I can see they are making improvements in their camp sites. Very pleased . Thank you all staff😊

We loved it! We were traveling back to New England and planned on staying one night....but stayed two. Loved the coffee bar and wine tastings. Wish other KOA's would catch on!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for being a promoter of Point South KOA. We are so glad you enjoyed our Swimming Mermaid Coffee & wine bar. Happy travels until your journey brings you back by our way. Jennifer~

Nice and friendly staff. Bath house was real nice. Super fast wifi, enough to watch Netflix with no problem. Some of the sites needed gravel. Great place to stop while traveling I-95.
Dec 07, 2016
The short time we were there was very pleasant....Really enjoyed it
Dec 07, 2016
It is very hard to rate as it was pouring rain arriving. Raining when we left. Just an overnight. The site ground was level but no gravel and water puddles all over. Daughters site was full of water. It was nice that the store was open late. We did order pizza and it was delivered to our site.
Dec 07, 2016
Great!
Dec 07, 2016
Owners extremely nice and helpful. Especially nice to have a pizza delivered when you got in late to hook up. Downside was too much sand

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Living in the coastal regions of the lowcountry has it's pros and cons. We are 11 ft. above sea level with an 8' tide. We lost all of the gravel to the storm last month and just laid 160 tons to replenish. We will continue in this recovery. Thank you for choosing Point South KOA. Jennifer~

The people that greet you are extremely friendly and their pizza is pretty good too. Our site cost us over $54.In the 10 years we've been going there, we've seen very little improvement. Sites are dirt, not gravel or paved. Some sites are difficult to get into or out of if you have a big rig. We stay there for the convenience, not the beauty of the campground. It could use some updating.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your comments and strive to improve every year. We are sorry that you have not seen our improvement over the last 10 years. Our new bathhouse remodel, a new bistro interior which is awarded by TripAdvisor for the last 2 years a "certificate of Excellence" & KOA as "Founders Award". WCO

We only needed a site for overnight. It was a nice touch to be able to get pizza instead of cooking after driving all day.
Dec 03, 2016
Très bon accueil. Terrain boisé et sites bien espacés. Seul problème est la mise à niveau des sites: difficile de stabiliser les "jacks".
Dec 03, 2016
Very friendly helpful stAff.
Dec 02, 2016
It was just an ok park! There were two issues: 1. The park is very dusty; 2. There IS NO satellite reception in the park. I asked for a site to get a signal, but the park has trees that block any signal. Also the park cable reception is fair to poor.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have 62 channels on fiber-optic cable. We are open 14 hours a day and are always happy to assist. We never guarantee satellite as the trees are beneficial for beauty and to beat southern heat. Hurricane Matthew depleted gravel & left layers of coastal dust however we just added 160 tons of rock.

Clean and well located for North-South travel.

Stopped over on the way to NC. The office staff was very pleasant and helpful. Frank directed us to site and gave all the info and was also very pleasant. The facilities were clear and accessible We will us this as our stop over to Fl.

Thank you for being a promoter of Point South KOA. We look forward to hosting your next stay as you journey through South Carolina. Jennifer~

we must have had one of the smallest lots in the park even though we booked several weeks ago. Could not even sit outside on our lot as we were practically on the RV next door, absolutely no grass in the park, very disappointed. Staff were very nice though.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We regret not meeting your expectations. We always guarantee 100% money back within an hour of check in if we are not a match. Hurricane recovery can be problematic. We have laid 12 tons of gravel since you stayed. Happy Camping. Jennifer~

Our group rented out the three lodges and we were totally impressed. Great accommodations, super friendly staff and the most relaxing atmosphere. We will be booking our next trip very soon. Thanks again KOA Point South - YOU ROCK!
Nov 29, 2016
Cabins were clean and we had everything we needed. The staff is 5 star and so is the cafe. Will stay again
Nov 29, 2016
Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Nov 29, 2016
We stayed here for a week while visiting Savannah and Hilton Head. The staff here was very friendly and kept apologizing for the dust. We understood because of the drought and recent hurricane. Will return to this site if we are in the area again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We thank you profusely for understanding about our poor environment during recovery from Hurricane Matthew and our continued drought. Sadly it has not been understood by many. Happy travels to you and yours. Jennifer~

The wine tasting was a nice end of the day surprise. The staff was cordial and informative. The only comment I have is the amount of dust raised maintaining the roadways was unhealthy to the point we had to wear masks and my RV was coated in dirt.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew and our impending drought we are working hard to rectify with the resources available. We have brought in our construction company to begin laying gravel and are thankful it did rain this morning. Somethings are beyond our control however we see improvements
Nov 27, 2016
Extremely polite staff, level sites, but biggest issue was the dust. They are trying to grow grass, but the roadways are where the issues are. Pizza was good and the beer was cold.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sadly we lost all of our gravel to Hurricane Matthew. This has created the intense dust along with the ensuing drought. We are in recovery mode with new gravel and measures beginning today. Recovery always takes time with resources being stretched thin. Jennifer~
Nov 27, 2016
This campground could be a lot better. The roads are not paved and is very dusty. Your rv and car will be covered with dust. No sitting outside.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are recovering from Hurricane Matthew and an ensuing drought. In 34 years of ownership we have never seen such conditions. We have our construction company arriving today to help in the recovery. Sorry you did not understand our situation while you stayed 3 days. Happy travels. Jennifer~
Nov 27, 2016
Great bath house facilities. Enjoyed getting pizza for supper and the wine tasting opportunity.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are so glad you shared your experience with us and hope you have a safe and wonderful journey. Happy travels until we see you again. Jennifer~

Trop bruyant. Trop près de l'autoroute et de la voie de chemin de fer

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are 1 mile from the highway which makes ease of access beneficial although can cause some traffic noise when the leaves have fallen. The railroad is 2 miles across fields and divided highway. Sorry we were not a match for you. Happy travels. Hope you find what you are looking for. Jennifer~

Very nice. Loved the walking path. People very nice and helpful. Camp stites clean and so were the bathrooms. Will stay there in the future.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank You for staying with us. We hope to be back to 100% in a few weeks. Hurricane Matthew left us with a dust covering that should be gone with the next rain. WCO
Nov 26, 2016
Way overpriced, for dirt and dusty roads and sites. Have been RVing for 35 years and always try to avoid KOA's because of price.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank You for staying with us. We hope that you can find a stop that meets your needs in the future. The recent hurricane has left us with a massive cleanup. Our local state park was demolished and will not reopen for at least a year. We received a coating of massive sand and now are in a drought.
Nov 25, 2016
Did not want to venture out of motor home. The dust/powder fine dirt was like nothing I have ever seen. The site were located in a way u felt as if u just parked in the road. The abundant use of silk flowers and odd collection of lawn ornaments coated in a thick layer of the dust. I felt like I was in a horror story.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize for the flowers. We have an enthusiastic workamper who thought that the flowers would add color. The flowers have been removed. Our dust issue is an aftermath of hurricane Mathew exasperated by drought conditions. Gravel is being brought in to eliminate the dust. WCO
Nov 24, 2016
Higher price than other KOA stays with lower quality. Blowing silt left over from the hurricane flooding--so that's not their fault. But it needs fixed. Hard to find. GPS is wrong and city and state will not approve new signs Not bad. Just ok.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are working a cleaning up from the storm. We are sorry for the GPS issue. This is totally out of our hands, nobody has informed us of which mapping service has changed our directions. As soon as we can, we will try to correct the error. WCO
Nov 23, 2016
Pizza was good.....
Nov 23, 2016
Nov 23, 2016
Very dusty and low power at the outlet. The dust was made worse by repeated leaf blowing, traffic in and out, road "grooming" with a tractor towing chains, and KOA employees speeding around in golf carts!! Impossible to enjoy the outdoors or even open the windows of my trailer. Nice amenities, but I would not stay here again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry about the drought conditions. Since you where here for 6 days we have to keep our leaves raked as it is our fall. The hurricane has changed our environment and we slowly recovering as allowed. It all has been made worse by the imposed drought. We would have refunded an early check out.
Nov 22, 2016
Always look forward to staying here. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Diesel is available at the BP. They have a wine tasting aft supper hours and it is upscale with lots of variety. You can purchase a brand if you like it. Lots of history in the area to explore.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your kind words. We are grateful for your continued support and glad to be a part of your continued travels. Happy Camping. See you on your next journey. Jennifer ~

Thank you for choosing Point South KOA. We are so glad you enjoyed the rental Caboose during your stay. Happy travels to you and yours.
Nov 21, 2016
Very dusty and room musty. Need a good mopping in room and gravel down.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are feverishly working on resolving the issue of the sand dumped on us from Hurricane Matthew which has been exasperated by our now drought conditions. Please let us know while you are here. We clean prior to arrival and after you depart. We are always happy to fix an issue when we know and can.
