Had to ask at the Chevron where you are. Need a sign near the freeway exit. Office closes too early. Access to restrooms was an issue for women. Code didn’t work. But accommodations were good otherwise any fellow campers were good folks.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I agree about the office hours! We've been short-handed & I didn't have sufficient coverage to stay open into the evening--but with more hands on deck now, I've extended the hours. (I do keep my cell # on the map, though, & I'm sorry I didn't hear from you when you had trouble with the door code!)

Park was busy but quiet. Clean laundry room It was a great jumping off point for the Pendleton area

Nice site. Much more open than some of the other sites. Lovely sunset view. Gas fire pit was appreciated under the stars. More permanent RV dwellers than we had seen at our other KOA stop in Helena. Cracked site bed was a little unsettling but we slept well.

Campground very convenient to the interstate. Clean sites, well marked. Wide streets for easy maneuvering. Stayed in a view site, was very pleasant to sit and look at mountain pass we were going to take the next day. Dog park clean and convenient for use.

Terrible wifi and no pool

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

As you plan your travels, perhaps it will help you to recognize the KOA "branding" levels: with Resort as the fanciest and Journey as the most basic, you can know in advance that a KOA Journey (like us) won't have a pool. We take pride in doing the basics WELL--but nope, no pool.

Campground is run well. However, this one is catering to the crowd who likes to drive a huge mobile home around and never come out. To make matters worse, they bring their accursed Harleys with them. To call this a “campground” is a joke. It’s a parking lot for converted busses with a bathroom. Silly and embarrassing state of affairs we are coming to.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Your stay happened to coincide with Pendleton's annual "Bike Week" event, which is why you encountered a preponderance of Harleys. We do our best to cater to whomEVER chooses to stay, whether they consider themselves to be "camping" or simply traveling!

We have stayed at many KOA Journey parks from coast to coast and the Pendleton camp easily tops them all. Very well maintained and a super amazing staff. We will be staying there again.

Everything fine.

The grounds are very clean and the back-in view was great! We did not expect to be around so many full timers. Their cars were in our way to be able to back in and it was awkward. I did not allow my kids to ride their bikes around. Would have appreciated a heads up that a majority of the pull through spots are people living there full time. We felt like we were intruding on them.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I'm sorry you felt constrained (particularly since actually NONE of the pull-through sites are residents--only travelers like yourselves). Your observation about the cars is noted, though; perhaps I need to revisit the parking policies...

It was a pleasant stay I was only there two nights, the only thing that I was not happy with is they charged me more per night than what was quoted., And when I brought it up they did not adjust it other than that the actual stay was good.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

It's an unusual situation since you made the reservation for LAST summer & then rescheduled to THIS year--and yes, the prices changed in the intervening 18 months. It's always a possibility when you reschedule that the new dates won't be the same price; I'm sorry it wasn't explained when you asked.

The sites were right on top of each other. When you opened your slides you were staring at each other. No change machine in the laundry. Barely fit the 5th wheel and truck in the length of the site.

It was fine. It seemed crowded but our site was paved and had a nice little picnic table, a shade tree and worked for us. The campground seemed well managed. The only reason I rated it a 4 star is just because of the rather narrow sites with a lot of concrete everywhere which made it feel more urban. Not a lot of privacy but overall it was a nice place to stay with close access to downtown.

The view there was absolutely amazing! The campsites were tight. Our slides were just about in our neighbors site. The sites are gravel but it was fine. We would stay here again.

We stayed at the Pendleton KOA Journey in April with a large 5th wheel. We didn't expect to find a pool, spa or other amenities. Pros: *Easy to find and access from I-84. *Quick check in with reservation. *Has a small store on site; propane available *Road was paved; turns were easy to make *Beautiful view from our level concrete site *Tow vehicle parking space at the site *Nice, new wooden picnic table at the site *Clean park and QUIET at night *Pet friendly; has a doggie park *Really nice, caring 'people oriented' managers *Cable TV was clear and good; hook ups were good Cons: *Tight sites (if your RV/trailer is long and/or has slides on both sides) *Long grass & weeds at sites *Too many 'long term' RV-ers *There were wooden 'porches' stored in the way across from our site so we struggled backing into it. Rehooking and pulling out was okay. This park is really nice for a night or two stop over, but because of the 'long term' RV-ers, we personally wouldn't stay longer than that. One of the nicest 'Journey' category KOAs we've stayed at. Recommend reservations ahead of time if possible.
