Twenty miles from Walden, the nearest town, sits an alpine campground that can serve as the perfect base camp for your family to explore the gorgeous North Park, Colorado region.

NOTE: We've got fewer trees, but the views are still breathtaking. We've had to remove many of our lodge pole pines due to Colorado's war with the pine bark beetle. While our shade may be diminished, we'll more than make it up to you in GREAT friendly service and relaxing fun. And we've still got our mountains!

Twenty miles from Walden, the nearest town, sits an alpine campground that can serve as the perfect base camp for your family to explore the gorgeous North Park, Colorado region. While most of our lodge pole pines have been removed to help slow the march of the pine bark beetle, this perfectly located KOA still offers breathtaking views of the Medicine Bow Mountains from an elevation of 8,800 feet. This KOA is just a great place to relax. Hummingbirds continue to drop by for a meal, and moose and deer are frequent visitors. If it's possible to tire of relaxing, stay busy with hiking, mountain biking, nearby ATV trails and even outfitted horseback rides. If fishing is your thing, there's plenty of trout in nearby Michigan Reservoir and nearby streams. Stop by the kampground store for fishing supplies and advice. Turn the kids loose in the playground (check out the log fort!). Weekend state park/forest interpretive programs include talks and nature hikes.
