Meet Your Hosts

We look forward to welcoming you to our peaceful riverfront retreat in SW North Carolina.

After a career in the hospitality industry, Matt Walters is the owner of Murphy/Peace Valley KOA. Originally from Pennsylvania, Matt worked in Sarasota, FL for 11 years prior to arriving at Murphy/Peace Valley.  The Park opened in 1980 as Riverbend Campground and renamed Peace Valley Campground in 2004. In 2009, the owners aligned with Kampgrounds of America and became Murphy/ Peace Valley KOA. You will see Matt both in the office and around the Campground working to assure a GREAT guest experience.

As a KOA campground, Matt embraces the KOA family. “My days consist of making our accommodations, grounds, sites, and services better, so guests enjoy their visit". Nearly 50% of campers are repeat visitors, so it seems they are doing things the right way.
Our neighbor, The Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and UltraStar Entertainment Center, thrives as one of the many attractions in the area.
