Nice campground. Close to town. Very dusty. Cable TV wires need replacing.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The dust I have to admit is a problem that we work very hard at controlling. Its not your normal dirt is very tiny particles that goes everywhere. Best solution is drive slower and tell neighbors to drive slower. We've posted that all over. IT HELPS !! The cable were working with the company to fix.

Very nice.

Our key was given to someone else and we still had another night!! No apology, didn't acknowledge my dispute, he just turned his head away from me, in front of another customer!! He's part owner, pretty sad, used to be my go to spot for over ten years, I'm thinking twice if Nichole isn't there working😠😳

I very much like the Mt. Shasta area. The KOA was pretty good. A few friendly suggestions. More rock laid down an ALL camp roads to keep dust down, stronger internet connection so all camp sites get internet, and better signage to find camp site location, for day or night arrivals. Over all good experience.

I enjoyed my stay but the place could use updating.
Sep 21, 2016
Good KOA 2nd time we've stayed.

Bathrooms very dirty. Wifi password given incorrect. TV did not work. Spots not level and hookups at end rather than middle of sites. Train horns all night. Not much to like here

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Were sorry you were displeased with the restrooms Our staff works diligently to keep the bathrooms clean. Next time if you see a problem please immediately call it to our attention. As for Wifi, the codes do work, many times it might be your device or a blocker you have installed in your software.

Friday and Saturday nights were almost at capacity, with many visitors on a one-night stay. The bathrooms were small for the crowd and cleaning staff was overwhelmed. Great location, easy walk/bike ride to downtown.

A very good value for the money spent on a Kamping Kabin. The number of trains running through Shasta at night did surprise me. But we notice that same increase where we live in Oregon also.

This was our first time staying at this KOA and we were very impressed with the wonderful hospitality of the staff, the assortment of munchies in the gift shop, the KOA shot glass that we got (we collect shot glasses from our travels), the cleanliness of the campground and bathrooms, and the super awesome cabin!! It was all pretty perfect and we look forward to getting back there again. I would re

Beautiful facility. Will definitely be back so we can stay a couple days.

Great location. Friendly owners. Quiet sites.

Gravel or pavement or grass would help this KOA immensely! It was very dirty and dusty.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Even though are facility is in the mountains we still suffer from the drought. The City does allow us to water but not enough to keep grasses green and eliminate dust. We work with a company that puts down a substance to cut down dust but guests do not observe the speed limits and it kicks up dust.

You need to fix your electrical receiver plug would not stay in socket kept cutting off the power.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

If you visit our facility next Spring, you will find many improvements, one being the electrical that you mention. We take the service we offer very highly and will always correct or remedy a problem right away. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Large groups should be monitored by KOA staff. The 75 teen drama students that stayed in group camp made our stay sleepless and unbearable. They obviously had poor leadership and supervision! They were loud very late & before sunrise. So much for Camp Quiet Time! They monopolized bathrooms & showers-holding doors for each other to be next user, instead of other campers. Too few bathrooms anyway.

Staff friendly and helpful. site and facilities adequate. As with all KOAs expensive especially for smaller rigs.
Sep 19, 2016
I realize September is toward the end of the season, but some sort of dust control would be a benefit.
Sep 19, 2016
Spacious tent sites in a stand of tall pines away from RV-ers, showers worked OK but stalls were a bit cramped. Great service at the office!

Loved our stay. We stayed in a cabin. Cabin and campground was clean. We had a great stay.
Sep 17, 2016
The facilities were very clean staff was very helpful. The grounds were enjoyable to stroll, the views were great. The only downside were the train tracks and the associated trains at night.

This was our third stay on our way to Washington state. We enjoy the scenery and cool climate. The staff are always pleasant and helpful!! And the facilities are clean.

Internet code wasn't working and office was closed. Bit dusty prob due to water issues.
Sep 16, 2016
Very clean. Some showers were very hard to turn on, but other than that, it was great. Loved our 2 room camping cabin. Thank you for allowing dogs.
Sep 15, 2016
RV sites were just fine dirt that got on everything. Our cable did not work.
Sep 15, 2016
got in late and left early so the only thing I can comment on was the dismal ability to find the campsite in the dark, walking in front of the car with searchlight and took the third time around to spot the little site number nailed to tree. then wondered is this part of the road or the site ? went up to bathroom with door code, would have been nice to have the lights to see code - back for ligh

A bit hard to find but worth the effort. In fact, I recommended this KOA to a family this morning who were going to Weed, CA. The site areas could use a bit more gravel, but the sites were nice.

a beautiful setting

Friendly people and helpful
Sep 13, 2016
Nice campground, nice setting. Would have given a 5, but noise from train was sometimes annoying.
Sep 13, 2016
Bathrooms need locks that work. Too many transients in the area.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Mens bathroom the lock was replaced and works GREAT, the woman's does need replaced and has been ordered. Just this year alone we have had to replace the lock twice for damage that should be preventable. Kids, guests and ?? I cannot phantom why they have to break the bathroom doors.

Friendly person in the office.

Friendly & clean.

I really like my stay at your Camp. My kids loved it. I hesitate to go back because of 1 worker at your camp. She was mean, unprofessional, impolite unnecessarily, and very unhelpful. I don't want to use the word racist but.... Too bad that I don't have her name. I encountered her 3 times I am unwilling to go back to talk to her. Just a mean person.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Everyone has bad days and say stuff they regret but this one we had to personally contact, for what he said. We have it an email SAVED. You NEVER call someone those words. This girl is the opposite in every way and will go out of the way in extreme to make guests feel comfortable and welcome always!
Sep 11, 2016
very accomodating. Was perfect for what we needed. Thank you Shasta KOA!
Sep 11, 2016
Does not represent the pictures on the Internet Total dirt everywhere, no grass. Will drive an extra 100 miles to find another place to stay.
Sep 10, 2016
Host was very helpful in relocating us helpfully as site had available spaces in shoulder season. Very helpful and gracious in assisting us. Well-shaded tent sites.
Sep 10, 2016
my car was broken in to and my priceless violin stolen and full length fur coat. This facility needs security!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I question your comments. We did have a couple vehicles broken into in town and on the campground but your mention of the priceless Violin never was stolen, our PD has a record of you having that violin, the fur coat ?? Why would someone in a campground steal a fur coat out of an unlocked vehicle.

Our family rented cabins K48, k49,K54 all in a row. There was a massive bees nest that camphost refused to deal with and 2 people got stung,1 had to go to the ER. Saterday night over a dozen campers got robbed!!The host assured some kind of refund, but when I called he refused to give it! THE MANAGERS OF THIS FACILITY ARE DISHONEST AND LAZY CREATING UNSAFE GROUNDS plus trains run all night!!
Sep 09, 2016
beautiful camping in the trees. the entrance is a bit tight but doable.
Sep 09, 2016
The campgrounds was clean with lots of shade trees to keep us cool. The staff member checking us in was very friendly & helpful. I happened to meet one of the grounds people who was a really nice guy and answered all my questions. While we couldn't see Mt. Shasta itself, our stay was very pleasant. We will definitely stay there again.
