This is our favorite KOA. It’s a great family place with beautiful views and a great central location.

We spent a week here with our young kids and had a great time! All the playgrounds and pools were great and my older 2 loved riding their bikes all over on the bike path. We’ll definitely be coming back!

My grandson and I had a great time at the resort. We loved the shuttle to the lighting ceremony at Mt. Rushmore, the chuck wagon dinner, getting pizza and ice cream whenever we wanted, and the added things for kids to do. I stayed there 5 years ago with an older grandson and I'm coming back in Aug. with another grandson.

Enjoyed all the activities, being close to Mount Rushmore, Rapid City, etc. All the employees were professional and helpful.

Great place to stay. Professional employees. Perfect for families.

The only thing I could suggest is the speed bump by the water slide area should be straight, not angled, very tough on class C and trailers getting twisted. The quiet hours should be enforced by shutting down the basketball lights at 10pm. Otherwise kids will play all night. Awesome place to stay! Love listening to the horses in the morning and evening getting taken back to their stalls. Awesome!

We had a wonderful time! Beautiful resort nestled right in the middle of the hills. Close by to all the area attractions. Lots to do at the campground resort. We really enjoyed the Chuck wagon dinner. My only complaint is the amount of potholes and the standing water at the back of our site. Sites and roads could definitely use some fill and re-leveling.

Stayed at many Koa’s this has to be the worst one. First the park is overly crowded in the summer months. Sites are very small and usually have muddy puddles at the end. There is zero cell service. They advertise free Wi-Fi but can’t get on because to many people on the network. They have rules but they are not enforced. We were only able to use half our sire because we had our neighbors

Very fun, lots of things to do. Great for kids. Staff is friendly. Way over-priced food and merchandise. Bathrooms are very dirty especially by the pool-needs textured slip proof floors. Cabins are pretty worn down, alot of dust and grim build up. No A/C in cabin is tough. Beds are hard.

This place has everything but good wifi or phone service. Be prepared to be offline for however long you are there, but it has everything else for fun! Horses, ice cream, pools, restaurants. Would give them 5 stars but they are racist on their dog breeds. Even though I saw German Shepard’s everywhere while there. I hate breed restrictions. But feel to bring your wolf hybrid or dogo argentino.

Being that this is a KOA Resort, we were extremely disappointed with no phone or internet in the park, as well as no cable or antenna tv reception. The park did however say there was no cable. We expected more from a resort.

The front desk staff was so helpful! Santiago and Eli helped me move to another site that fit my needs. Love all the activities for the kids! We will be back again next year!

Our original site was too small for just our trailer and forget our tow vehicle. According to the office this is a common problem but blamed on computer issue. Our site guide took us the wrong way and tore our spare tire off our bumper which almost came off too. Neither our original nor second site were close to our family that were supposedly locked when we called immediately after booking.

The resort has a lot to offer and the location is beautiful. The reason my rating isn’t higher is because the wifi service at the campground is really bad. It’s 2023. People choose KOA campgrounds to enjoy modern amenities and utilities and high speed. Internet is as important as electricity is in the modern world. If I didn’t care about high speed internet, I would stay at a state/national

We had a great stay at Palmer Gulch KOA, 2 adults, 2 teens, and 2 dogs. Busy at check-in, but Frances was super friendly and helpful at the check in desk. Met Ernie when he escorted us to our site and he was equally helpful and friendly. He even stopped by our site later to make sure we were all settled in. Site was level and park was clean. Kids enjoyed the onsite horseback trail riding.

This campground is a great family place to stay.

Everything was just as expected for the most part - a lot of activities for the kids and adults in the fun zone, movie nights, etc. The thing that I did not like and really question are the pet charges - $3/day per pet. What are these charges for exactly? There were no doggie bags anywhere and we were cleaning up after our own pets.

This was our third year in a row at PG KOA. We stay in the same site every year and love it. I would have given it 5 stars this time if it weren’t for the condition of Comfort Station 3 and our campsite. Since there are limited characters to type in this section, I would like someone with decision authority to email or call me so I can explain.

Broken playgrounds, damaged Mimi golf course, no follow through on requests made at front desk, dirty pools.

We were assigned RV spots that were not very pleasant! Very little to no Wi-Fi whatsoever! Muddy all week long! Couldn’t walk our dog anywhere around our site or on our street due to the constant muddy conditions! Yes, I understand it rains & thunderstorms but it seems something could have been done, fill in with more gravel etc… to help with the constant muddy, mud hole conditions! Not h

My experiences at KOA's have not been great...up until this point. We planned a Mt Rushmore trip, and I am 100% happy we chose the KOA to stay. 3 days and 4 nights. We went over Memorial Day weekend. You will get rain and some inclement weather. We packed most of our food, but we did partake in the pancake breakfast. Kid loved it. We rented a UTV for an afternoon for 2hrs. Worth it. You go on the back trails, and if you are adventurous enough, go on the gnarly trails too. You can drive UTV's on the open road here as long as yours is street legal with plates, I believe. This was the perfect base camp for the following activities in the area: Mt Rushmore, Bear Country, Keystone, Hill City, Rapid City, The 1880 Train (the train was ok, good for kids who haven't been on an old steamer.) The camp grounds themselves are great! Pool, shopping, horseback riding, little shops to visit. We made some really great memories here. Thanks, KOA! PS: Keep in mind, this area is 'Merica friendly...In other words, treat people right and you'll be treated right. Do not play games with the locals, the black hills are vast. Just sayin.

This campground is awesome for everyone. We have been coming here for 5 years now at least one time year usually in August. We have 4 kids from age 5 to 15 and they all love it here. It has 2 pools playgrounds volleyball horseback riding utv rentals bike rentals restaurants ice cream shop small store for groceries and camping stuff wine shop and the kids love to play with all the other kids there. We don't have a camper so we stay in the cabins and they work great for the 6 of us. They have multiple bathrooms and shower house throughout the grounds to use and a laundry mat there. We never had any problems staying here and will keep coming back every year. There is a lot of things to do within an hour drive also. I would definitely recommend this place for people with kids of all ages.
