Beautiful campground that’s well maintained. Nice store, laundry facility, bathrooms are clean and recently renovated to be the nicest I’ve seen, and owners are very attentive. Campground is going through improvements and overall park is an excellent choice for a stay.

Our first time at a KOA and we were not sure what to expect. It was great! We were very pleased. The camp was clean and orderly. The staff was considerate and eager to please. Everyone we met there, including staff and other guests, was friendly. Just a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely stay at the Mitchell KOA again. The only discomfort were the gnats under the trees.

Convenient KOA right off I-90 but far enough away that there was no highway noise. Great overnight stay. Campsites are close to each other so very little privacy but that is what we expect from a KOA Journey. We used the the laundry and bathroom facilities. Both very clean. They have fiber optic WiFi installed with great bandwidth. This is the first KOA that I was successful at live streaming TV.

Tuna was one of the best campsites I’ve ever stayed at. The people running this campground were absolutely fantastic. We will be staying here every year when we come to Mitchell South Dakota.

One of the nicer KOAs that we have stayed at. Sites have nice large trees with shade. Bathrooms were very clean. On the east side of Mitchell, but just far enough away from the freeway and city, so that the setting was quiet and peaceful. Had a drive-through site with electric and water.

We were welcomed immediately by Stefanie, checked in & escorted to our site. The site had a great view of the nearby green fields. The bathroom & shower area was very clean and decorated very nicely! The store was stocked with local beers & wines and very cute clothing. Great one night stay for us and could accommodate our last minute booking!! Great spot away from the highway.

We stayed one night passing through on a weekend. Too many kids on the small playground. Nice pool, oddly not a lot of kids in the pool during our short late afternoon arrival. Staff helpful in picking out appropriate spot for our rig and in handling teenagers that were throwing balls around campers. Bathrooms were small but clean.

Thank you for the review. I think you're mistaking our KOA of another. For a Journey, we have a large 3 tower playground with 2 rock walls, multiple slides and a tunnel. Our pool has been filled in and we now have a nice back patio with tables, chairs and games. (Bag toss, Connect 4 and Jenga)

We only stayed one night. The park was nice. Easy to get in and out. The lot was big enough so we didn't have to unhook are Jeep. Everyone was nice, friendly and professional. We would stay again.

Very nice, well maintained park that is conveniently located! However, the Highway noise is bad, making it difficult to sleep. Also, this park is not able to fill the propane tank on a motorhome, as the fill hose is only about 2 feet long!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the review. Not sure if you're confusing us with another KOA as we are 1/2 mile North of I-90 and noise is minimal. Also, we are able to fill propane tanks on motorhomes. We do it weekly. Our propane hose is 10 feet long plus dispensing nozzle for about 11 feet. See you soon.

Second visit. Love the family atmosphere. Very well kept. Good stop in middle of SD. Far enough off I90 so not noisy. Mark this one a keeper. And you can spend two days there sightseeing.

This place rocks. I wish I booked a few more days I had no idea how much you can do there. If I return ill book more days. I have a lot more of the US to see but tjis was by far the best KOA we stayed at on our trip. Out of 8 KOAs.

It's a beautiful location. I loved (for the short term) waking up to the mooing of the cattle. Warning, in spring/summer there are tons of flying insects near the pastures! Wear a hat and sunglasses.

We have stayed there close to 40 times over the years. Were on the 3rd set of owners. And everyone if them makes it a little nicer place.

The operators were most courteous, helpful and hospitable! We really enjoyed our brief overnight stay. There was a little road noise, however, the country setting more than made up for that!

Mark & Steffany were once again AWESOME. Been staying there for 5 seasons for pheasant hunting and every year is better. Mark has made a LOT of improvements in just one year. Cabins have upgraded power. Just great people running a great KOA. Will be back again next year.

Clean facilities, pretty facilities, loved the playground and storm shelter amenities. We will stay here again!
