Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park

Luray Zoo is home to over 250 animals and is the only true rescue zoo in Virginia. This Zoo receives no government funding. All admission and gift shop sales goes directly to help support the care for all the animals at Luray Zoo.
Local Area Activities
When you camp at our KOA you have a wide choice of daily activities to keep you busy, unless you just want to relax (and you can do that, too). Since we are situated in a valley between two gorgeous mountain ranges, our campers can spend days exploring the trails and roads of those mountains by car or bicycle. Others spend time on the Shenandoah River, canoeing, fishing and hiking. Of course, one must-see here are the Luray Caverns, an underground wonderland of stalagmites, stalactites and subterranean waterways. That's truly a bucket-list item. Our in-park activities include weekend billiards tournaments. Just enough activities to make you welcome the cool quiet nights under the starry skies of the Shenandoah Valley.

16th Annual Apple Butter Celebration
Each year the Shenandoah National Park celebrates with the Apple Butter Festival. They go thru the full process of cooking on copper kettle and stirring. There will be wine tasting, pony rides, children's crafts, storytelling and live entertainment throughout the day. It will be held at Skyland September 19th 10am to 5pm.
