The Indy KOA has activities for all ages. From the 2 playgrounds, to giant chess & checkers, bike rental, WiFi, a refreshing cool-down in the pool, or simply a leisurely stroll along the creek, one can stay as busy (or relaxed) as one would like. Beginning with Memorial Day weekend, and running through Labor Day, there are also planned activities such pancake breakfasts, kids klub, wagon rides, scavenger hunts and more!
Shopping, Shopping, Shopping
There is an abundance of shopping in the Indianapolis area. From high-end fashion malls to trendy outdoor establishments to name-brand outlet malls, one could spend days scouring the smorgasbord of shopping in the Indy area. Most of these are about 15 minutes from the campground.
Art and antiques
U.S. 40, located 2 miles south of the Indianapolis KOA, is locally known as "antique alley" due to the plethora of antique stores that speckle the road on both sides in both directions for miles upon miles - well into the states of Ohio & Illinois. Be sure to also check the calendar for the Historic National Road Yard Sale - which also takes place on U.S. 40 and runs for a whopping 824 miles!
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tour
The most popular tour in the Indianapolis area takes place at the most famous racetrack in the world. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts ground tours throughout the year which is a fantastic way to experience the venue that hosts the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
Indianapolis boasts some of the finest restaurants in the world. The "Crossroads of America" motto rings true as one can find menus ranging from Korean to Irish - and everything in between. Avoid fast food & be sure to ask our staff for local recommendations.
Did you know that Indianapolis is second only to Washington DC in the amount of land and monuments dedicated specifically to veterans? The Indiana War Memorial Plaza Historic Distric contains 2 museums, 3 parks and 24 acres of monuments, statues, sculptures, and fountains - and it's located in downtown Indy. Indianapolis is also the state & national headquarters of the American Legion. The War Memorial Commission operates these facilities in pursuit of its primary mission which is to commemorate the valor and sacrifice of the United States Armed Forces and especially to honor Hoosier veterans.
