The entire office staff is friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you're stay is the best possible camping experience. Sites are large and we'll kept and Wi-Fi and cable were excellent as well. This was my 3rd stay here and I'll keep returning

Hot Springs KOA was nice to have a place to stay after a long day on the road. It had very clean shower and restroom facilities. My GPS did not recognize the South Interstate but using Frontage Road address got me off of I-70 at the intersection just west of South Interstate. The facility is close to the main road just behind the Econo Lodge which was very handy late at night.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

For clarification the Hot Springs KOA is no where near I-70 as we are along SD Hwy 79 in South Dakota. There is no Econo Lodge here.

As always, Cathy and John were gracious hosts and their associates made us feel like family.

I would give you a 5 star but when i was getting into your pool the ladder came up and out of the concrete and my leg got caught in it and it bent me back into the water and i was kicking trying to get my leg out and the ladder cut my foot. I did tell the lady at the front desk to have someone take a look at the ladder so it does not happened to anyone else. we will be back the kids loved it.

We only stayed one night as a stop over, but found the owners to be friendly and helpful. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Pull thrus too close together for big rigs!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry that you were unhappy with the site that you picked. The initial site selected for you would have allowed more space for your rig or we could have selected a much more suitable site for you. Our 50 amp sites can readily accommodate big rigs.

We loved it here, great setting in the pines, sites were level and roomy. Great staff, clean facilities. We used this as our home base, for custer park mount rushmore crazy horse and others. This camp is out of the mayhem of camps closer to the parks, we liked the solitude and peacefulness. Great host, don't miss the pancake breakfast.

This is one of our favorites now. Staff friendly and willing to take as well as give back. Even when you miss a turn and drive another hour. But your never lost! Right? Yes,would stay here again and again.

Great base to explore the Black Hills and Mt Rushmore area. The internet connection was very fast, which was important to us. Everything was clean and the staff were all very friendly. There were several bunnies and trees around the campground.

Enjoy my stay, probly wouldn't recommend the place, unless I knew someone that was going to Hot Springs, SD. Felt the cabins were too expensive, enjoyed talking with the owners tho.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your comments. Hot Springs serves as the southern gateway into the Black Hills. Close to or in Hot Springs is the Mammoth Site, Evans Plunge, Pioneer Museum, & Wind Cave Natl Park. We are not far from other attractions in the Black Hills. Cabin prices are comparable to others in area.

We chose to base in Hot Springs for our travels up to Mt Rushmore and surrounding areas. We found the Hot Springs KOA very relaxing and just perfect for us. We travel with a pop up and the amenities offered at this campground enhanced our stay. We will definitely recommend this campground to others.

We loved our stay here. Owners were great and on site daily. Park is neat and clean, pool was wonderful, and breakfast was an added treat. Also, one of our site-seeing trips got us to the park late, so we ordered a pizza and John delivered it to our site. We will definitely stay here again.

The camp ground was great and everyone was friendly. The only negative was the noise from the truckers on the highway using their engine brakes.
