Some very nice things about this park for families with children but we found it to be not big rig friendly. Their largest spaces which accommodate big rigs have no sewer and are very hard to level. We never got level there. Just doesn’t accommodate big rigs well.

The restrooms were disgusting. After arrival, we reported to the office that one of the showers appeared to have feces in it. It stayed that way until the restrooms were cleaned three days later. We stayed seven nights and only saw evidence cleaning happened once as the trash was removed. The stocked pond had very few small fish and selling worms in the office for fishing was a scam. Disappointing

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our bathhouse is cleaned daily. We do get alot of sand in showers from the jump pillow.

Reserved a back-in full hookup site several months ago, received a call about 4pm on the day of arrival that the site I booked would not be available for some reason and I was being put on a electric/water only site. Received a small discount, but in my opinion it should have been free. Sites are small and cramped, showers & pool was nice, staff was friendly enough, but I doubt we’ll be back.

The sites need more thought out into them . We were on site 31 this weekend & we couldn’t even extend our awning out because we were too close to the roadway & there was really no place for our children to park close to our site . We loved the shower / restroom area it was very clean !! On Friday afternoon around 2:30 pm our granddaughter wanted to swim but they had the pool closed til 4

This was our first time to stay at a KOA Campground. While we only stayed one night, when we looked around we felt that the facility and grounds are very well maintained. There are a lot of child friendly oriented activities. The staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. We will be sure to let our camping friends know about your campground.

Nice campground with good facilities. Very close to I65 so noisy all the time. Made it difficult to sleep. Would probably stay somewhere away from highway next time

Campground was nice. Staff was great. Only negative is the highway noise is terrible. Cant sit outside the camper.

We called about a spot while on the road. Had some severe weather ahead and decided to stop for the night. They were able to get us a great spot and had everything ready when we got there. Nice park in a beautiful part of the country. Thank You.

The park has lots of character close to the expressway for travel. Swimming pool is very lovely. Bathrooms were super clean. Just enjoyed the stay

The owner is super friendly and on-site many days. There's always somebody cleaning trimming are working on some thing there. Everything seems to be fairly high quality.

Just a beautiful campground. Best maintained I’ve ever experienced.

I was very unhappy to place our 45 foot coach longways alongside the road that people don't know the speed limit is 41/2 MPH! It felt like they would blow by us at a much greater speed! The price for the accommodation was higher than its value. Too many of the spaces did not have sewer hook up, however, we were allowed to run a connection across to the sewer and dump. Not one of the better KOA's.

You are just too close to the interstate interchange, it is too noisy with no trees to help block sound

The lady who checked us in was very helpful.

Enjoyed our stay. We couldn’t get level in the site assigned and the staff were so helpful in assigning us a new spot.

Staff was friendly, everything was clean and neat. The campsites are very small, we could barely get our camper in it. There was not much room to set outside in front of campsite.

The campground has very nice facilities. However the trailer campsites are not particularly desirable. The lots are poorly laid out. The glamping choices are fantastic. After 4 nights the noise level from the constant truck traffic traveling the highway did get to me.

I booked a site with a cement pad and patio and it got switched to a site that was unsatisfactory. We weren't told of the change until we arrived. This is totally unacceptable and bad customer service. We should have gotten what we paid for.

Beautiful campground. Good campsite. Not really close to any local attractions. No dump stations at campsite.

need more FHU

Site was so uneven I needed a step stool to reach the step on my RV. Tires were off the ground on both sides. Fire pit had burned trash in it, 2 washing machines down, 2 dryers and 1 was down.

Friendly ,clean, easy in easy out,we will see you again thank you

Loved it vey nice stay. Dinner delivery to site was very nice. And breakfast was great Thank you so much.

Our site was a little tricky to back into but we made it work. Big curb to get the trailer over. Also had a severe thunderstorm roll through overnight during our stay. Lot of tree debris fell on our camper during storm and was all over campground next morning. My suggestion is to trim your trees as there is alot of dead limbs in the trees and there could have been alot of damage if more fell.

The fire pit was full of trash, water and leaves, The bathrooms were not very clean. The pool was not open as long as the sign stated. Other than that it was pretty nice.
Jul 10, 2023
We paid for a pull thru site that was down 2 hills from the showers and restrooms and UNLEVEL and so severely sloped that we couldn’t come close to level even when letting out all the air in the front air bags and leaving the rear inflated. We ended up having to drive to the bathroom and being handicapped didn’t help at all either. No way to walk had to drive each time

Very nice campground & had some great amenities. Next time we stay we hope we can get a nicer spot with more shade.

Stayed the weekend with family. We had 3 sites all together. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We love this campground! Friendly staff, clean facilities, fun campground with lots to do. Can't wait to visit again!

Staff was helpful and attentive. Although near to the highway, traffic noise was not significant. Showers and Bathrooms are great, very well kept and cleaned regularly and well. The downside was there was no grills available for the firepit nor a designated BBQ. If you intend to cook on the fire, make sure to bring your own grill.

Very nice campground. Wonderful hosts.

Lovely site. Huge site

Campsite 31 is the equivalent to parking along a median strip. Barely had enough room to safely open our slide out without worrying about it being hit by a passing vehicle. The opposite side is an embankment with another road at the bottom of it. If it wasn't for the playground for our granddaughter, I would have given it a 1 star.
Jul 06, 2023
Pool was great! Had some good activities for the kids during the holidays. Fireworks were outstanding!
Jul 05, 2023
The site we had was all gravel and very slopped. We were not able to get our RV level. It was right off the interstate so there was some traffic noise. I don’t think we would stay for more than one night. Staff was very nice and property was very well maintained.

Always great time when we stay there

Loved It Exspecially The Fireworks ♥♥

We stayed 3 nights. The campground is awesome but the highway noise was too much for us.
Jul 02, 2023
Very nice staff, clean showers/restrooms. But nothing is level - its not a campsite if its +/- 5° off in both directions. I get the entire camp is built into a hill - but its a ZERO stars as a campground if you can't level the sites. At least close to level. (Our RV autoleveler reported the site as too dangerous to even attempt leveling!!!)

This was our 2nd KOA stay.we were on the bottom row which is highly subjective to truck noise from I-65. The bottom row is gravel with a steel fire pit and steel picnic table. The full hook ups was the only thing nice about our spot which was 087. Not as level as it could be and some guy was running a big blower back and forth on the parking area. Not a restful situation for us.

What an amazing, relaxing stay! We were in the area visiting family and decided to splurge and stay in the treehouse cabin. I didn't want to leave!!! Beautiful views at sunset, tons of outdoor space, and stunning interior. Lots for kids to do. (I had to try the jumping pillow for myself! Highly recommend!) The staff are so sweet, especially Lisa. Places like this are why we stay at KOAs and not hotels! Can't beat it!

Had a really nice, level site. Great amenities and the bathrooms are top notch! Only issue we had was with the internet/TV connection. We wound up using our phones as mobile hot spots to watch tv....

Our recent stay at Horse Cave KOA in Kentucky was an extraordinary experience that we highly recommend to anyone looking for an outdoor adventure. Nestled in the heart of nature, this campground not only offers the serenity and beauty one seeks in a getaway but also boasts facilities that are impeccably maintained and staffed by some of the friendliest people we've encountered. What sets Horse Cave KOA apart are its unique accommodations, particularly the teepees and tree houses, which provide a one-of-a-kind camping experience. The teepees offer a fun, traditional, yet comfortable camping vibe, allowing you to connect with the great outdoors without sacrificing comfort. On the other hand, the tree houses are an absolute dream for those looking to elevate their stay—quite literally! Perched among the branches, these accommodations offer stunning views and a tranquil setting that makes you feel as if you've stepped into a fairy tale. The cleanliness of the amenities here deserves a special mention. Whether it was the restrooms, the common areas, or the accommodations themselves, everything was spotless. The proximity to local attractions adds another layer of appeal, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The Horse Cave KOA provides an unparalleled camping experience that combines the beauty of Kentucky's natural landscapes with the charm of unique accommodations and the warmth of exceptional service. It's a perfect spot for families, couples, and solo adventurers seeking a memorable escape into nature.
