Campground Reviews

May 13, 2014
The campground and staff were very nice. The pull through sites were very sloped. We actually had to request to change sites as we were unable to level our MH in the site assigned to us. The staff member was very accommodating, and gave us a new site, which was a little better, but we still were unable to get it completely level. It was acceptable but did create other issues for us during our stay

Another very good campsite. Very clean facilities and helpful and friendly staff. A little noisy in the evening with the number of trucks on the highway. The wi-fi was very poor and the television was virtually non existent unless you had a satellite dish

Overall nice park and amenities. We stayed on the lower level. Pads were very difficult to level on because of the upward slope. Motor homes do not like to have the rear end elevated.

The stay was great. The animals are fun. I think it would be nice if the roosters stayed in the barn at night so they weren't right outside our window every morning between 5:50 and 5:58 waking us up. Other than that we had a really great time.

It would be nice if the dump site were more level. Very friendly staff. Received a nice info packet when we checked in. lots of highway noise. Threads on campsite water faucet were bad. We would definitely stay here again.

We were here early in the year. April the pool is not open. Typical KOA bathroom and showers, not bad, just not noteworthy. Just okay

Terrains pour 50A ne sont pas au niveau. Impossible de mettre les pattes sous un motorisé.

The cabin did not have enough lighting. The overhead light had 3 flame style bulbs of 15 watts each. It was to dark to read or crochet in the evening.

Delux cabin size was comfortable, but not very clean or efficient for our stay. We found many cobwebs and dead bugs in corners and windowsills and the cabin smelled stronly of smoke. The futton cushion kept sliding off it's frame even while we were sitting on it. Also, the walls needed more hooks and shelves to hang towels and toiletries, especially in the bathroom.

We had a good time at Horse Cave KOA, the weather was bad, but the stay was still good. The only thing I would say would be too level the pull through sites where we stayed. They are not level, every camper, motor home and trailer that stayed down in that area had to level their rigs. That's fine if the site is paved, or hard packed. Ours was not, and our levelers sunk into the gravel,

A well organized campground

Garbage around cabin prior to entering it at 4:00 pm. Something gross on the ceiling of the bedroom.... black stuff. Crack window by the futon with a cracked stick. (Didn't feel safe knowing that the stick is the lock for the window AND it was a broken stick.) Dirty floors that showed on our white socks. Filthy coffee pot. Cob webs above refrigerator. Cute cabin minus the negatives above.

Very muddy and the site are not level. Also! please get rid of the Chicken,s Duck's Turkey's. Did not need them helping me to set up.

A nice clean campground. Staff was very friendly. Hookups could use a little updating, but sufficient.

Made reservations the day before. Hardly anyone at the koa when we arrived. She couldn't find our reservations and kept telling me I made it at a different koa. I had my confirmation but no Verision service there. Finally she found it. Didn't park us like all the koa's before. Was there 2 days and trash cans were full the whole time. Sink in the mens room greasy black the whole time.

No water. That is to say: we camped at a full hookup site, but the water supply did not function. We notified the office, she came out to check and found that ome sites did have water, but others did not. It was a warm day (60's), but she said she thought it was froze. No water means no shower, no dish washing, no running toilet. Enough said.

The campground was nice enough. The setting besides the interstate is the most negative comment I can make. The bathrooms were clean but dated. Perhaps planting some trees along the interstate side would one day create a barrier for the sights and sounds coming from the highway. The staff was very friendly and wiling to work us on sites. Makes for a good stop over!

Great country atmosphere. Love all the animals. Cabins are cute and homey. Great place to relax and unwind after a hard day at work!

Lighting around office rear needs improvement

the most quietest calm pleasant stay i've had in a long time .this was our end of the year vacation, and it was great...and i loved the animals that was across the road. reminded me of earlier quieter times of my youth. and the caves as I remembered them.

Very nice campground. Our only problem was the sewage pipe was way to high for proper drainage and we spent some time trying to arrange wood, stones etc. to provide a reasonable flow. Beautiful area to camp in. Wish we had more time to explore the trails.

The cabin was very nice (as all KOAs) my issue was there was no dishes, no coffee maker, etc. I know when I made the reservations it said to bring linen, but when I've stayed at KOAs before the coffee maker and dishes, etc were supplied. So I was a little disappointed. Also the road was a little close for me. The staff was wonderful and the cabin was clean.

Just stayed 2 nights while traveling through. Our site was a pull thru but roads were narrow. Staff were friendly. Set up for family camping.

It was ok. Too close to the highway so traffic noise all night long was an issue and the electrical boxes need maintenance. But it was central to all the caves I came to see & was generally an enjoyable stay. The staff was really helpful with questions, etc.

Friendly, well maintained, good views of countryside, some interstate noise and quality, inexpensive ice. Enjoyed our stay.
Oct 14, 2013
Interstate noise is a little loud; however, location makes easy access to the interstate. Clean bathrooms and very friendly staff.
Oct 14, 2013
We enjoyed our stay at the campground. The only problem was the traffic on I65 and the noise at the campground from it. Also, the shower facilities, while clean, the shower knobs and shower heads did not function properly.
Oct 13, 2013
Fun and friendly farm animals: horse, donkeys, bunnies, chickens, and a turkey.
Oct 10, 2013
The location was very convenient to the interstate. However, there were no trees to buffer the noise between the highway and the lane of larger pull-thru campsites that I needed. The DOT is repairing a bridge and they were jack-hammering til late at night. Then, the friendly pair of roosters start crowing at 4am. At least the putt putt was free.
