A blanket of trees sweeps across the rolling hills and mountains that surround this KOA, making this a scenic stop that's especially glorious in the fall. This quiet Ozarks campground offers long pull thru sites with cable TV, Wi-Fi and the equipment and place to wash your rig. Relax at the pond with your fishing pole, take a paddleboat ride and feed the friendly ducks. Swim in the saltwater pool or lay out and tan. A playground and basketball court add to the fun. Fort Smith National Historic Site showcases 80 years of America's westward expansion and includes the remains of two frontier forts. Bird-watchers like the walking trails along the Arkansas River. Shop Victorian Van Buren's crafts or antiques and ride the Scenic Ozark Railway. Attractions include a Civil War cemetery, golf courses, wineries, a trolley ride. Coming to Fort Smith in the near future is a Marshal's Museum, personally I can't wait . Two casino's are close by. Be sure to add this campground to your stop and stay list.  See you SOON!

Harold and Linda Fisher wanted to do something different to get away from their busy lives. After purchasing their KOA campground in 1998, the couple realized that this was the life for them, but there was much work to be done. To this day, Linda says she always sees things needing to be improved. "It's a process that makes our KOA better each day," said Linda.

The park is primarily an overnight campground, but the amenities for staying longer are available. "People come and stay a night or two. But we love to see people staying longer for a quick vacation or visiting relatives is always nice," added Linda. She says the area is beautiful. Flowering bushes dot the park and pine trees offer shade. "We love the spring and the fall - it's relaxed and things seem restful," said Linda.

The couple loves meeting new people and they take into consideration every complaint and compliment. "Trying to break the ice with guests is fun and it gives us a chance to get to know them. Everyone puts on their best smile and truly enjoys their surroundings," said Linda. The couple knows what it is like to be on the receiving end of a campground and they stress that "things that are important to customers are important to us." Linda said making her guests feel like family is their goal. "We try to make them feel at home," said Linda.

Family is important at the Fort Smith KOA. Harold and Linda live on-site and their kids all live at the campground except for a daughter and family in Alabama.. Visiting their children and their grandchildren is a favorite pastime and Linda plays piano when time permits.
