Boothbay Harbor's 53rd Anniversary Windjammer Days Festival, www.windjammerdays.org, is the week of June 21st in Boothbay Harbor celebrating Maritime History and Sailing. Majestic windjammers come from up and down the coast to participate in this exciting early-season event. The American Eagle, Heritage, Isaac H. Evans, Nathaniel Bowditch, and Stephen Taber are few schooners participating in Windjammer Days. The schooners arrive in the Boothbay area, Linekin Bay, Tuesday, June 23rd, and then under full sail during the "parade of sail" on Wednesday, June 24th into Boothbay Harbor and anchor amidst band concerts, a parade ashore and evening fireworks.
The Moxie Festival, www.moxiefestival.com, is held in Lisbon Falls. Moxie is the unique New England soft drink. Moxie was first marked as a patent medicine in 1876 in Lowell, Massachusetts. It was guaranteed to cure multiple ills. Enjoy the parade, bike rally, 5K run, food court, Moxie Chug-n-Challenge, carnival rides, river race, and fireworks!
