Very disappointed in Fort McCoy/Lake Oklawaha KOA. The showers in one building were dirty and lights burned out. The bathrooms in the other building, toilet paper was out, toilet paper holders were broke in most stalls, lights burned out, no soap dispenser in the womens bathroom, out of paper towels in mens restroom. Washer and dryers had to be jerry rig to be used, the machines that even worked.

$77.58 per day is excessive, as well as dealing with the low water pressure. It is sad that the lots are all being sold and will no longer be a campground. The office staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Have a nice day.

Not impressed with management and plethora of rules. Seemed like no one could agree what they were. The trails in the forest were way to skinny, even ones marked for side by sides— I realize that is not on the KOA. Excited to try other KOA’s but probably won’t be back to this one for a while

Could use some TLC. Bathroom did not have toilet paper. Camp Grounds need some work power pedestals are lying on ground and could cause a shock, septic pipes are broken off

Staff was friendly. Other KOA parks take you to your site where this one gave you a map and said not to park in the shaded areas on the map. The trails to the lake were horrible, not maintained. Extremely limited supplies in the general store.twenty minute ride to store if you forgot anything.

Many electrical hookups were nonfunctional. Lots were not assigned. Had to search for site. Seemed in need of repairs.

This was the worst KOA we have ever stayed at, I'm not sure how it is a KOA. I've tried to call several times to get a partial refund for leaving early and all the problems we encountered, no answer. The biggest one would be the backed up sewer in which sewage was dumped all over our site and we had to repack/hookup and move which made settling in hours longer. I have a long list of issues..

This is not a KOA in my opinion and not up to the standards expected. Sites are up for sale all over the park, One site had an engine on the picnic table. Garbage everywher.e. This should be a private campgrounds for dirt bikes and ATV and that is what’s promoted here. The bathrooms were disgusting. The pool was great and the site was roomy that is why I rated a 1.will not return.

While we have stayed there for many years it was sad to see that the emphasis was on its future and not the present. The cleanliness of the bath house was lacking. The bathrooms had no toilet paper throughout our stay and shower houses were consistently unkept which is not the norm. Don't lose sight of the important things in transition to resort please.

If looking for a resort, or nicer than normal camping, this is not for you. In fact, we had no escort to our site, signage limited, uneven sites ( does not even appeared to be excavated), lots of small pieces of sharp trash in sites, poorly delineated sites, and in the area assigned to us, barely any grass! One plus, pool area gorgeous. Most other campgrounds nicer than this one in my opinion.

We only stayed over night on our way down to south Florida but it was pretty nice place! I loved all the sides by sides and quad trails around. I would definitely stay again!

Sites need to be to find a little bit better. The Electrical system needs to be updated. We were there the site actually blew my hot water heaters fuses. The staff was friendly and it’s a Beautiful place but needs some work. I will try to stay again

I booked one night on the fly going with the fact that this was supposed to be a KOA, without reading reviews... my bad. This place doesn't come close to KOA standards. The campground is basically a big open field of grass with a couple of trees in one spot. As others have stated, when you check in, you are handed a map and told to go and find a site. There weren't any sites left, I was stranded.

We had a very nice relaxing stay at this campground! A few things that might need attention: most of the toilet paper holders were broken or not being used in the restrooms (so we had to hunt down paper), more picnic tables available for rented sites, and new fire rings for the rented sites would be great!

Seems that it's not managed well. Roads are not well maintained and difficult to maneuver with a long trailer. Lots are not level and difficult to access and set up. Bathroom is horrid-nasty and dirty throughout the day! The women's bathroom NEVER had toilet paper!!! There's a nice dog run with trashcan but n0 poop bags in the dispenser. Phone signal is one bar unless you are around the pool.

Sites not assigned - it’s find your own - many not in working order (lacking water/sewer/electric/fire rings/not level). On-site store not stocked. Dirt road entry. In middle of nowhere, miles from stores/amenities. Bug/ant/garbage/ATV/noise/marijuana problems. Dirty pool. No Cable TV. No Wi-Fi! Indifferent management. No waste bags available in dirty dog park! (Health hazard) No firewood. Bad!!

cleanliness is a concern. the men's bathroom counter in the clubhouse is not cleaned or wiped down on a daily basis. my guess is it was at least a couple of weeks since the last time it was cleaned. the campsites on the exterior property line (I believe the site #'s were in the 340's) were strewn with trash. it also appears previous campers were throwing trash into the woods.

Manager was EXTREMELY RUDE! Dog park a mess , with no refuse bags ! ( asked 3 times if they could restock) All paths to the Lake we’re blocked with down trees , and the Manager said “ we did that to block off access!” Maintenance man was their redeeming factor ! No fire ring , so he let us borrow his own personal ring! The property is beautiful - but the Manager is UGLY!!

We had to pick and find own site no TV no Wi-Fi and couldn't even get phone service. Electrical panel was falling off the pedestal. The campground is changing over to a resort but they have a long way to go

No propane…the laundry was very poor with only two washers and one drier in operation. Check in was very lacking. We did check in and they took our payment but were told to just drive around until we found a spot that we liked. Very unprofessional as far as we are concerned. We reported the problems with the laundry and was told that they were working on it.

When we arrived at the KOA there was very little signage on where to check in. We had another "camper" tell us that we needed to drive around and choose our spot and then inform the office where we were set up. We needed 50amp hookups and finally had assistance to find spots. Found us spots but another camper had dog off leash and other issues. Water pressure was very low. WIFI was very spotty.

If there was a zero,I would put a ZERO! This place was crappy. Over priced, people partying at ALL hours of the night- very noisy, trash all around. It definitely needs an upgrade on water pressure & electricity. WiFi is horrible and no TV cable! If there was a TV cable, I was never made aware of it. I have stayed in KOA’s around the country and this is the worse I’ve ever stayed at.

Nasty. Not up to KOA standards at all. Highly DO NOT recommend. We use KOA all the time and expect that we will get at least a reasonable level of service. This place is definitely one to avoid. We will never stay there again.

I think they are focused on selling seasonal sites with a realty office on site and an open house on the day we were there. I think KOA customers are an afterthought thrown in that back field. KOA has recently let their guard down as we have recently encountered more than one sketchy facility. Used to just go to the KOA without checking knowing we would have a quality facility, but not anymore.

They don’t give you a lot number when you make a reservation! When we got there they give us a map of the possible lots that might be available (we wanted two that was next to each other). We drove around and finally found two and went back to the park office like they said to do so she could confirm they we’re available the office was closed! We finally found a security guard that was no help

The park is okay/nice, the lots are okay - the staff (in the office) was very friendly, helpful and professional. You can’t reserve a lot so you get what you get when you arrive. Some of the lots are sold so you can’t use them. The park and the bathrooms were clean. The park is very close to the trails (utv’s/atv’s) and they were awesome. If you're into mud bogging or 4wheel trail riding, then this is your place, otherwise there are no close towns as it is in the middle of Ocala national forrest. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The water pressure was so low it would not make my shower spray at all.

Very hard to find site with picnic table. Lukewarm shower in pool area (1), 1 not operable, 1 cold water. Evening security guard very nice/helpful. Dumpster overflowing. Restrooms not cleaned/attended to every day.

Worst run KOA we have been to. No wifi, go pick your own spot, WHATTTT. The first spot we picked we had to move from because the power pedestal FELL DOWN when we went to plug in. The noise from unruly 4 wheelers is out of control. DO NOT STAY HERE

Need directional signs for garbage etc. The biting lady bugs were horrible and made for an unpleasant stay. Heating the pool would have been nice. Very little nearby for groceries.

This KOA has went down very much. Bathrooms were terrible, toilets running over and clogged. Could not do any laundry at the facility nearest my campsite because machines torn up. Trash laying everywhere. It was a holiday weekend but they should have additional help come in on those weekends. The cost of a night has gone up a lot so I expect more from a KOA!

All the other bad reviews are accurate. Folks in office were nice enough but place was a disaster in terms of organization and cleanliness. I do understand that this location is way out there in Ocala NF and suited for ATV use but please make an effort to organize and clean up and level some sites.

What a great, out of the way place to camp. Located beside a lake, there was always a nice breeze blowing. Campsites are very large and are all pull-through, which is a nice option. Bathhouse/clubhouse is very nice and the restrooms are clean. Staff is very friendly. It's not your typical KOA, as everything is very laid back, probably because it is located in the middle of nowhere. It's one of those places where you go if all you want to do is camp and relax. They do have activities for children in the morning.
