Great campsite for a relaxing weekend. Sites are bigger than most places and it's super quiet. Saw plenty of wildlife. Not alot of activities going on which was great for us.

Very nice campground. We stayed on trip out to KY. Decided to stay again on our way back home. Only complaint is the WiFi. Very slow and kept getting kicked off.

Clean. Large (for KOA) & fairly level sites. Quite a narrow steep road to come in on!

just a one night stay. Pros: The campground was clean. Nice shower and restrooms. Cons: Our campsite (Site 32) was quite a bit away from the bath house. I understand that there is a fee to be able to choose a site from the ones available. I am not a fan of that policy.

KOA Flatwoods was a great campground for our recent travels. We were there only for a night but the campground was clean and good amenities at the neighboring hotel.

The cabin was very nice and relaxing. My only issue was the mattress’s on the beds and the horrible mattress on the pull out bed in the couch. We had to buy mattress toppers in order to sleep.

Magnifique terrain boisé caché à travers les montagnes, un peu surpris de devoir passer par le lobby de l'hôtel pour s'enregistrer mais très heureux de pouvoir profiter de la piscine extérieure avec les enfants!!!

Site was very uneven for size of or rv- there were 4 or 5 open that would have been much much better. The black/gray water hook up failed and we had a mess- I ended up using a heavy box to stabilize it and on top of that there was no water pressure so had to use another open site water hook up . Would not go back to this campground.

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. We have looked at the site you were at and corrected the problem. Also, feel free to call with any problems hooking up, and we can always send someone down or move you sites.

Great staff Good site Hill up was a little challenging but reall not and issue The sign not recommended for large trucks was of concern but no problem. Will stay again

An OK stopover place...but as others have said....nothing to do. So, we've used it for an easy-in, easy out stop over. Please put a larger garbage in the campground though - as the small garbage cans can't take the bags people often use in their RV's. Getting to the hotel for a swim is a decent uphill hike (or drive). A pool down below would be a great addition. Indoor pool is only 3.5 feet deep

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have placed larger cans in the site sections to correct this. We also have hooks to hang trash that we pick up every day. If you look at our area attractions page, we have about 2 lakes less than 15 minutes away for recreational activities.

Nice campground. Clean and quiet. Seems to be mostly a one night stop for most people. Would be nice if they offered cable TV to get weather reports. Not a whole lot to do in the area, but am hour ride to the national park.

Site was good and adequate length. People next to didn't police their dog - poop everywhere. Didn't notice with late check-in and couldn't stop at office before having to leave.

Nice place to spend the night. Could be a little more room between site over all not bad. I do like the pole with a hook to hang up garbage to keep the critters away. To use the pool you need to go to the hotel which we didn't use. Our pull thru site was long enough for 5th wheel and truck

Staff was nice. Campsite grass was over ankle deep. The only reason a 4 & not a 5 is bec the pool/s are not within easy walking distance. They are in/at the hotel at the top of the hill & around the corner. And down the hall. Otherwise we thought it was a lovely spot, still quite new, sites are nicely spaced, restrooms very clean, nice landscaping, no road noise yet close to interstate.

We chose the Hickory Knoll section specifically because of your description: "This is a nice quiet shaded area that is perfect for sitting outside and relaxing in the scenic hills of West Virginia". This was just what we were looking for on the last leg of a 6-week cross country RV road trip. I'm happy to say that our campsite was exactly as you described. Probably the most relaxing of our trip!

Check in was painful. Waited for 6 people to check in with 2 people working a hotel desk and phones. It should be a lot simpler to check in here. Sewer was above the camper site? Water leaked at your faucet. Site was almost 4 inches off level. View was nice. Good room for a fire. Only in 1 night.

We stayed there one night in our fifth wheel camper while on our way from NY to TN. We were in lot 10. Nice site. The outdoor pool was great on July 20, 2022. The water was warm. What a beautiful view of the valley from the pool area. The general manager was very friendly and gave us a great history of the place.

Our site in the wooded area was beautiful with just woods to enjoy right outside our door. The campground was clean and well maintained. I would definitely come back in the future if in the area.

This is a smallish RV Park in proximity to a Days Inn, and an Amphitheater. The full hookup pull through gravel sites are off asphalt access roads, and mostly level. The convenient hookups are modern, and functioned properly. No cable tv, 3 OTA stations (PBS), and a big sky for satellite, their included WiFi was mostly okay, but did not always provide a reliable signal - Verizon cell service is good. Not much of a destination, it is a good overnight - check in at the Motel, and travel down the hill to your site. Good clean bathrooms, and free ice - bonus.

Very convenient next to highway, clean, level sites. Sites large and level enough to not unhook. Hill to get in is not a huge hill, just a hill. Very quiet, perfect for a one night stop enroute to somewhere else. Stayed both to and from our holiday. Pool at Days Inn makes this a great stop for kids. Desk staff and security great. Local fire department not so much. A trailer next to us had their propane/co alarm going off with two dogs in the trailer and when the owners could not be reached, the fire department (Volunteer) was called and refused to open the camper. Yes refused. Said it was breaking and entering. Despite me arguing, they would not budge. We left that night out of concern for our safety, and parked at the top of the hill, as far away from the campground as possible in the hotel parking lot. We hope for the sake of the dogs that it was a malfunctioning alarm. Regardless, hotel staff were wonderful and tried MANY times to reach the owners of the camper. We would definitely stay again. UPDATE: Stayed here again, 5 years later on a trip to Florida. Same as before, quiet, clean, great spot to stop for the night. Hotel restaurant and pool were a bonus as well!
