easy checkin at the hotel, large pull-through site on gravel (exactly what we wanted), old but very clean facilities next to the amazing amphitheatre, very peaceful and one of the few sites open in winter, only missing a small place to wash the dishes

Only stayed a night traveling thru but park is nice, clean. Showers/washrooms clean.

This is probably the nicest KOA Journey we have stayed at during our recent long trip to the southwest and back east again. Very convenient to I79 but because the campground is in a hollow there is no traffic noise. Will stay here again when traveling through West Virginia.

Expecting a level campsite for my travel trailer is not likely in West Virginia. However, every site had plenty of gravel suggesting it had been used to bring the sites close to level. We tried three different sites, settling on the last one due to the lateness of the hour, and even then the level area was at one end and the power pole at the other. I would strive to make the sites more level.

Great stay at Flatwoods KOA. Check in is at Days Inn Hotel and it was easy and efficient. Flat gravel sites, clean park and friendly staff; full hook ups too. We only stayed one night as we were traveling back home from vacation but it was a great stop. We ate at Days Inn Restaurant and it was a convenient, solid option.

Beautiful campsite with easy access off the main highway with very little road noise. The pull-thru site was fairly level and I loved the shower and laundry facility! Very clean and friendly staff. Will definitely stay there again.

Good overnight stop. It’s good that this KOA is open a couple of weeks into November each year, however it puts a damper on travelers that like KOA’s and travel after that date. Would be nice to have at l ast antenna tv service if not cable.

Nice campground. Checking in at the Days Inn office was more than weird. No WiFi or Cable in reality. Staff was nice to change our site because of slope. Long drives to New River Gorge NP. Booked 6 days but left after 3. Most of the “ amenities “ are at the hotel. It’s OK but not really a campground.

We enjoy our stay’s…. Pull thru good… leveling a bit difficult but doable for sure! Unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel not open on the day we were their but understand!

Nice place but very narrow roads that are very hilly throughout the park. I have a 40’ class A and was towing.

Close to I-79, so very good location for an quick overnighter, which is what we needed. Good restaurant. Our campsite was a muddy mess. I'll blame that on the weather although I don't actually know what kind of weather they'd been having in Flatwoods. We had not traveled in any rain. But location meant a lot and we'll stop there again and just hope for a better site.

Signs on highway are too small...I came in on highway 4 north...my gps turned me too soon...I ended up in a small parking lot and had to turn my camper around...not a happy camper...you should have a sign saying"not a koa entrance"..In the campground I felt like I was at a self check out line...no yellow shirt persons anywhere to help...

The water at our campsite was turned off and I am not sure that electricity was fully on. Seemed like everything worked except the batteries we not charging. Was only there for one night but really enjoyed our stay.

The front desk was not very helpful or friendly. We drive a 45 foot Class A towing a truck and the site they selected for us was a hairpin curve up hill to get to the site. I would understand if we just pulled up and made the reservation that day but we booked this 8 months in advance. The area is beautiful but I would not recommend this KOA

Flatwoods is one of our favorite KOAs. It is beautiful and clean, and the staff in the hotel is always very professional.

After multiple years of visiting this location, we continue to see this park decline. It is super convenient for our purposes but sad to see the lack of investment. The pool has been resurfaced to such a point that it is very shallow and almost unusable for adults. Check the water and electric at your site before unhooking. It is still a very pretty location, hope they address the problems.

This is a smallish RV Park in proximity to a Days Inn, and an Amphitheater. The full hookup pull through gravel sites are off asphalt access roads, and mostly level. The convenient hookups are modern, and functioned properly. No cable tv, 3 OTA stations (PBS), and a big sky for satellite, their included WiFi was mostly okay, but did not always provide a reliable signal - Verizon cell service is good. Not much of a destination, it is a good overnight - check in at the Motel, and travel down the hill to your site. Good clean bathrooms, and free ice - bonus.

Very convenient next to highway, clean, level sites. Sites large and level enough to not unhook. Hill to get in is not a huge hill, just a hill. Very quiet, perfect for a one night stop enroute to somewhere else. Stayed both to and from our holiday. Pool at Days Inn makes this a great stop for kids. Desk staff and security great. Local fire department not so much. A trailer next to us had their propane/co alarm going off with two dogs in the trailer and when the owners could not be reached, the fire department (Volunteer) was called and refused to open the camper. Yes refused. Said it was breaking and entering. Despite me arguing, they would not budge. We left that night out of concern for our safety, and parked at the top of the hill, as far away from the campground as possible in the hotel parking lot. We hope for the sake of the dogs that it was a malfunctioning alarm. Regardless, hotel staff were wonderful and tried MANY times to reach the owners of the camper. We would definitely stay again. UPDATE: Stayed here again, 5 years later on a trip to Florida. Same as before, quiet, clean, great spot to stop for the night. Hotel restaurant and pool were a bonus as well!
