Really nice campground with lots of activities for kids. Sites on river are beautiful. There is some highway noise but we stayed for a week and were never bothered by it. Would stay again.
Aug 15, 2016
Everything was as expected. Friendly, clean and relaxing.
Aug 15, 2016
Cleancampground staff is very friendly and helpful
Aug 15, 2016
every staff member we encountered was very helpful and friendly. We were so comfortable there we forgot to lock our door at nights! If our travels bring back to Ellensburg, you will again be part of our travel plans. Thank you!
Aug 15, 2016
Called on Monday for same week reservation and received great follow up and they were able to accommodate us. Have stayed at this KOA many times and will keep coming back.
Aug 15, 2016
We had a great stay. Very handy for our needs. Vry nice neighbors and the road noise, though real, was not very distracting.
Aug 15, 2016
due to the really hot weather and no weekend activate and my wife being bitten by a dog near our trailer could not give you a real high rating

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

It is usually in the 90's here in Ellensburg in August. We have lots of activities in the local area for our guests to participate in. We aren't sure what happened with the dog biting incident here. Our guidelines state all pets must be on a leash when outside their owner's vehicles.
Aug 15, 2016
Unexpected to be welcomed with a big yawn by check-in staff, but owner Gail was very friendly and did a couple of nice little things that made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry for the unconventional greeting. We have had an extremely busy summer. Our Front Desk Staff have been working overtime.
Aug 15, 2016
Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, thank you. The restrooms are clean and well stocked, grounds are clean and well maintained. I think the spaces are just a little too close together, but shady, and easy to get in and out of (pull through).

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our park can be tight on a busy, sold out weekend in the summer. We are grateful for our guests and appreciate your business!

Stay away from space 44

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Site 44 is one of our most popular sites . . .
Aug 14, 2016
Clean & safe camping for families.
Aug 14, 2016
I would employ the office staff. they truly know what customer service is.
Aug 14, 2016
A great KOA. Clean facilities, nice camp store with ice, even nicer people to help you with whatever you need.
Aug 14, 2016
OVer crowded. Roads too arrow for big rigs. OFfice personnel clueless. trees obstructing roadways with low branches. NO attempt to control obnoxious children. A blot on KOAs reputation.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our campground was built in the late 1960's before big rigs with slideouts. We have beautiful, mature shade trees in our park which most of our guests appreciate during the summer when our temperatures are in the 90's and above. Unfortunately, our park was not a good fit for these folks.
Aug 14, 2016
It's like park in the higway. I can't understand why KOA have this campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have road noise in our park due to our close proximity to I-90 & Thorp Hwy. We advise guests about this when they call in or make internet reservations. We give people options to cancel if this is an issue for them. We suggest ear plugs and/or running fans in RVs to create white noise to help.
Aug 13, 2016
Overall it was good. We enjoy the pet runs. We find the sites at the KOAs we have stayed at the last number of nights are too tight to be enjoyable. Trip over other people waterhoses just too tight of spaces.
Aug 12, 2016
Very accommodating All was great. Thanks.
Aug 12, 2016
Clean, convenient ffor kids...Happy staff!
Aug 12, 2016
Love it! Very clean and comfortable!
Aug 12, 2016
Great site right on the river. Super clean restroom.
Aug 12, 2016
Had a great motorcycle ride down hw97 from the Canadian Rockies down to WA. Ellensburg was the perfect place to stop for the night, great campground!!! Only suggestion I would have is to have a wash basin sink outside the remote restrooms towash dishes. This is a road I want to do again and will definitively stay at the Ellensburg KOA

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We plan on adding an outdoor dishwashing station for next season. Thank you for your comments

Overall this was a pretty good camp but my husband said the showers reminded him of his days in the military. All the showers were drained by the same open trough.
Aug 11, 2016
Very nice property staff was extremely helpful, sites are very nice and level, much hiking trails nearby, playground and Facilities were excellent.
Aug 11, 2016
honestly the location is a joke especially for tents. It'under a highway with constant road noise and trucks waking you up in the middle of the nights. The site for tents looks like a Parking lot and people are almost on top of you. No privacy. The river is inaccessible and behind trees. The bathroom and the campgrounds are kept clean but only the RV side looks decent for a stay. I don't recommend.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

This guest was from out of state. She made an internet reservation for the same day she arrived and we were unable to contact her by phone to advise about road noise. We are on the corner of I-90 and Thorp Hwy. We try to be proactive about contacting guests regarding our tent site conditions.

Came for "Jazz In The Valley" jazz festival and everything was fine as usual. We have stayed here for the last 2 or 3 years for the Jazz weekend and will be back next year.
Aug 10, 2016
Great place to spend a night. Clean restroom and shower. Security at night. River next to it. Wish could have stayed more nights. Minor road noise but tolerable.
Aug 09, 2016
Clean. Kinda noisey from the interstate. Nice staff.
Aug 09, 2016
Friendly staff, exceptionally clean, and centrally located.
Aug 09, 2016
Loved the pool and that there was a kiddie pool! Kids loved having a playground. Very clean, bathrooms were well attended to. It was nice being so close to the river. Very windy, however that is just Ellensburg! Didn't notice traffic noise at all! Had 2 month old baby with us who slept great!
Aug 09, 2016
Positive experience as usual.
Aug 09, 2016
I would recommend this location as a last resort only. The location next to the freeway made it impossible to sleep. Also, our neighbors were up until 2:30AM and were extremely drunk, noisy and rude. At no time did ANYONE from KOA walk through the 'campground' to make sure people were observing the quiet hours. Unbelievable. People in store were very friendly though. Enforce the quiet hours.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

These guests were here during the weekend of the Watershed concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. People arrived back at the campground very late. We have a private security guard company on the weekends from 9pm to 2am enforcing quiet hours. We are on the corner of I-90 and Thorp Hwy. Road noise here.
Aug 08, 2016
Great KOA. Very neat and clean. Cabins were very nice and the deluxe with the bathroom worked out great with us and the two grandkids who slept in the bunk beds. Road noise was minimal in cabins but if your tenting you might prefer to be toward river.
Aug 08, 2016
We like to stay here because of the cleanliness, amenities, location on the river, and the friendly, caring staff.
Aug 08, 2016
There were no family/community activities, the games room and family room were lame. They opened up bike rentals at random times often with excuses as to why they were not. We love KOA's. We did not love this one.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have a pool, volley ball, horse shoes, basket ball and lend other sporting equipment. Game room has ping pong and air hockey. Family room has a TV and tables and chairs for our tenters. Bike rentals at 9am Mon-Sat & 11am on Sunday as a safety precaution with many guests departing the park.
Aug 08, 2016
very narrow sites, overbooked with too many people per site. A busy city not a quiet campground experience

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our park was built in the late 1960's before big rigs with slide outs. We have been sold out every weekend this summer. When this happens, we are cramped. Sorry folks. We love you and do the best we can with what we have.
Aug 08, 2016
They charged us 10.00 for a child which was 5.00 a night we did not have a child with us and I had my receipt emailed to me so I didn't see this till we were home. I was never refunded the money.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

When the reservation was made for this guest, it was for 2 adults and 1 child over the age of 5. When we check people in, we confirm number of adults and children on the reservation. Not sure what happened here but will call guest and refund them accordingly.
Aug 08, 2016
It appeared this would be a great campground for kids but the sites were too close to each other. Just too crowded, but I guess that means business is good. The sites by the river should really be protected with a fence to keep children safe.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

When our guests with children book river sites, we caution them about the river and ask if they are comfortable with that situation for their family. Sometimes, they relocate to other sites further away.
Aug 08, 2016
couple of tent site located right next to trash bins and couple of tent site squeezed into kids play area ...some things to reconsider.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Tent sites on the front lawn are spacious and deeper than those on the river. There are four 33 gallon trash barrels inside a 3 sided redwood fenced area for those guests to use. We try to make trash disposal convenient for our guests.
Aug 08, 2016
The staff is super friendly, and the grounds are kept very clean- but we were very disappointed by the amount of college aged campers on the tent sites near us that were constantly drunk to all hours of the night, and smoking pot all day long. Our family was not able to be at our tents at all. Sleep was hard to come by. This KOA sits right on the freeway. So, tent sleeping is super difficult.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Guests were here the weekend of the Watershed Concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. July/August also very busy with people tubing/floating the Yakima River. We have a security guard on duty from 9-2am Fri/Sat. nights. Was not made aware of the pot smoking. Marijuana is now legal in Washington State.

Aug 07, 2016
Pleasantly surprised about the attractiveness of the campground and the location. Parked in a 50A W&S site very close to the river, with nice shade trees. I would definitely stay here again.
Aug 07, 2016
The sites are a little close but the river made up for that. There is considerable road noise. I managed to pick the one cold shower in the block. The managers/owners were very pleasant. The front desk person talked us out of a second night with her reluctance. The park was clean, well maintained with many extras. Two playgrounds, horseshoes, store and pool. Also laundry albeit pricey,

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We were sold out this weekend with lots of tent campers attending a local concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. Bathrooms were super busy. Sorry for the cold shower. Unfortunate timing for this guest. Laundry Rates: $2.00 to Wash/$1.50 to dry for 45 minutes.
Aug 07, 2016
Nice location for an overnight stay. Close to town. Water pressure not strong, but did have showers. Love the river site even though it was not a pull thru but a pull in back in. Electrical hookups awkward to use. Staff very friendly.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Most sites in our park share a service pedestal with their neighbor.
Aug 06, 2016
Great location. They are continually upgrading the facility; drip watering flowers etc.
Aug 06, 2016
have stayed several times anad have always been satisfied
Aug 06, 2016
No sewer hook up but stayed extra night because the facility and location is so nice.
Aug 06, 2016
Great campground one we will stay at many more times!
Aug 05, 2016
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly, the campground was clean
Aug 05, 2016
My Homebase KOA... A great staff already complements a great campground!
Aug 05, 2016
No social activities, No Beer stocked seemed like a moral decision applied to everyone. Staff seemed distant.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are an overnight park, not a Holiday or Resort KOA. There are a lot of activities in town and in the surrounding area. We have Visitor Guides and Maps available to guests for activities in our local area. Our camp store does not sell alcoholic beverages. Safeway and Fred Meyer are close in town.
