Nice new changes and staff was very courteous. We've been staying here for our Sturgis week 13 years. The campground has trees and is a quiet nice clean place to stay. The surrounding area is beautiful to ride our motorcycles so this is a perfect place for us to stay.

Enjoyed it again the only thing I don't like is the last two spaces we have been in have a slope to the back. Our trailer steps are close to back so we have to put 6x6 cedar blocks on the ground to be able to use the steps.

Our family rented two RV spots and a cabin. The RV spots were lovely. If those specific spots could be rented, it would be worth coming back. However, most other RV spots were not as nice. But the cabin was terrible - at $120/night+!! The continuous smell from the nearby sewer dump station, a pool of pink vomit found in the trashcan and an ineffectual ceiling fan - clearly not worth it.

Booked online not even thinking about Sturgis that coming weekend. Got a reservation, when we got there check in was easy, all the staff was great. Safest campground I’ve stayed at since ya know- bikers! Had a good stay

Our third year staying at this KOA. It so nice we keep coming back. The staff is always friendly, the rear shower house is nicely equipped and usually very clean. The camp store is well outfitted and the prices are fair. The grounds are well maintained and sites are easily accessed. While this KOA feels like it’s just a bit out of the way, that’s what makes it perfect. Less traffic to deal wit

Loved it here. Pool was nice, spaces were large. Bathrooms were nice and clean thanks to the awesome lady who cleaned them every day (the campers however, were slobs). Close to town, close to sights and drives. Most sites get afternoon shade, which was pleasant. Wish they had more bathroom/ shower facilities. Kind of a walk to get to them from some areas of the park. Staff was awesome as usually.

We enjoyed the park but for the price and lack of detail the Palmer Gulch seemed more in that price range. One of the best things about this park was the responsiveness of staff- text about lost dog at our site after a thunderstorm to find the owners- thank you

The park, restrooms, and showers were always clean. Dog park, some did not clean up after their own pets but by morning it was cleaned up. Easy access to sights to see. And staff were always pleasant. One particular gentleman always come around to see how our dog was doing. He had the same breed but recently ours was diagnosed with cancer and he wS genuinely concerned. We will be back

This KOA was centrally located to everything we wanted to see. Overall this KOA is clean and had plenty for the kids to do. The lady at the front desk could of been a little friendlier. The shower towards the back of the campground needs to be unplugged, it did not drain.

Safe, good location. We just weren’t there long enough to give it an adequate rating. We arrived at 7:15, office closes at 730. Wish the pool and amenities were open a bit longer so we could wind down a bit. Staff were very nice.

When booking our reservations, we booked a campsite/cabin close together. When we arrived, we had the two farthest spot away from each other in the campground. Our campsite was small, half the size of everyone around us. It was so tight that our grill was by the next sites waste disposal. We also had the only picnic table that was peeling paint. The cabin was very nice and staff was friendly.

We stayed 2 nights while visiting family. Our site was large enough to accommodate 1 extra adult and 4 children. The grill and patio were a blessing. The kids loved the playground.

Nice KOA very close to Jewel Cave. It’s a 2 hour drive to Devil’s Tower and 25 minutes to Mount Rushmore. 3 miles from downtown Custer. It was a friendly campground with clean facilities and pool. Our site wasn’t very level, but they have nice patio sites and lots of cabins. We would stay again if ever passing through. We are on a road trip heading back to Ohio.

All the amenities that you would expect at a KOA. We enjoyed the pool. Very refreshing. The staff was especially helpful with advice regarding local attractions.

We loved the bounce pillow and the cafe but hit some snags with laundry and power outages, which to be fair are beyond the camps control. It would have been ok if there was a change machine in the laundry room since my problems came after hours and I ran out of quarters when I had to re run machines after power outages. The texting system was also a great way for them to keep guests informed

This is one of our favorite KOA’s. Peaceful area. The campers are so nice. The workers are so helpful! And make a delicious breakfast and dinner! The store is real nice and stocked well! Supper close and convenient to all the major attractions! Would stay again if we are in the area.

We wanted a quick night to check out our new camper and let the kids swim and play. Everyone had a great time. The entire park was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint would be that the pool and jump pad closed very early and we would have liked to have enjoyed those activities later into the evening.

Great service and great people. Two main things detracted from our experience: 1st and the main issue was a constant smell of sewage. This wasn’t just from one camper next door, it seems to be an issue with their main sewage system, the smell emulates from the large concrete sewage covers all day and night. 2nd and much more minor is the temperature of the pool, it is freezing!

Lovely KOA. Staff really goes out of their way to take care of the guests. They deliver wood and ice and put it on your card. No need to keep finding cash or using the card. Quiet and nice sized lots. Very shady. We will definitely stay here again.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a very large site with lots of shade. The park is conveniently located near the town of Custer as well as many area attractions (including Mt. Rushmore.

For a KOA Holiday we were disappointed in the very small sites, unlevel sites, and road noise. We’ve stayed in Journeys with more amenities and nicer spots. Priced high for what it is.

Great location for visiting Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Wind Cave. Our site was a very tight but worked ok with our 22ft camper. Camp grounds were clean.

This KOA was the best KOA we've ever stayed in. What made the difference for us was the staff. They went out of their way to provide the best customer service we've experienced at any campground in our travels. The icing on the cake for us was when the gentleman delivered our firewood to us in his pajamas. Having said that, it wasn't for the wonderful attire, it was that he did this with a smile even though we had not arrived back to the campground until well after the office was closed and it was already dark. This KOA is beautiful and has all the amenities that a traveller could ask for. It is located within a half hour drive of so many of the attractions in the area. We'll be back and we're hoping to have the same gracious and friendly staff to greet us again.

Our 2nd time camping here! Loved it 2 years ago & just as much this time! We splurged for a patio site this time & it did not disappoint. Nice, comfortable sites, clean restrooms & laundry area, well-kept grounds, super friendly & helpful staff (Special thanks to John & Janny, who were amazing!). Beautiful location & positioned perfectly to easily explore so much of what the Black Hills has to offer. Nice to be able to come back to your campsite after a fun day of exploration & be able to relax comfortably outside with a nice fire (some of the KOAs where we stayed on this trip, simply did not have enough room between sites to do that comfortably). We certainly hope to return...love this area & this KOA is one of favorite campgrounds in the US!
