This is one of our favorite KOA’s. Peaceful area. The campers are so nice. The workers are so helpful! And make a delicious breakfast and dinner! The store is real nice and stocked well! Supper close and convenient to all the major attractions! Would stay again if we are in the area.

We wanted a quick night to check out our new camper and let the kids swim and play. Everyone had a great time. The entire park was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint would be that the pool and jump pad closed very early and we would have liked to have enjoyed those activities later into the evening.

Great service and great people. Two main things detracted from our experience: 1st and the main issue was a constant smell of sewage. This wasn’t just from one camper next door, it seems to be an issue with their main sewage system, the smell emulates from the large concrete sewage covers all day and night. 2nd and much more minor is the temperature of the pool, it is freezing!

Lovely KOA. Staff really goes out of their way to take care of the guests. They deliver wood and ice and put it on your card. No need to keep finding cash or using the card. Quiet and nice sized lots. Very shady. We will definitely stay here again.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a very large site with lots of shade. The park is conveniently located near the town of Custer as well as many area attractions (including Mt. Rushmore.

For a KOA Holiday we were disappointed in the very small sites, unlevel sites, and road noise. We’ve stayed in Journeys with more amenities and nicer spots. Priced high for what it is.

Great location for visiting Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Wind Cave. Our site was a very tight but worked ok with our 22ft camper. Camp grounds were clean.

Great place to stay! This was our second time staying at the Custer KOA! Very clean, things for kids to do, friendly staff and very accommodating. Close to Black Hills attractions: Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Rapid City, Spearfish, Hill City and Keystone. Foodies will love the variety of foods available and Craft beer lovers will find favorites in the area.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, giving recommendations for restaurants and places to go. We had patio site 205. Very nice, liked the fence, private. But we would get whiffs of the septic system now and then. One day it was not possible to sit outside. Hopefully, for others that can be addressed.

Cabin was too hot at night. Could not sleep until after midnight. Cabin windows open all night caused morning traffic to wake us up very early. Other KOA in South Dakota has AC. it might help if there was a plug in fan. I mentioned it to the front desk and was told "there's nothing we can do". Other than that nice campground, But probably won't stay again due to sweating while trying to sleep.

Beautiful shady campground, very clean, employees were extremely helpful and welcoming! It's the first time we got escorted to our parking spot, which was awesome! Close to all attractions, best KOA we've been to!

We really enjoyed our stay. We do have a couple of suggestions for the dog park. Maybe you could install solar lights (so that it’s easier at night) a bench inside so we can sit as our pups play. Last is a safety issue the rebar holding the second gate needs to be held in place it swings and hurts if it catches your leg. Limit time to 10 mins if people are waiting. Thank you see u next year!

The KOA was well-cared-for. The bathrooms were clean and fresh. We were disappointed to find that the amenities such as pool, bounce-pad, and office all closed at 7:30p. I felt this was incredibly early considering a tourist town in the summer. Typically, 9:00pm is early. It would have made our trip an A+ to have had these amenities open a touch longer for our young kiddos enjoy.

Great location! Camping cabin #1 has a nice yard associated with it, which added to my stay. The staff were very nice and the store had useful supplies and some fun things.

The KOA was nice and clean. It was quiet, but the sites were close together. Our neighbor constantly parked his truck so close that we couldn't have a fire because he was immediately next to our fire pit. So if you have a toad, I would recommend parking by the store. The staff was friendly and it was easy in/out for our 34' rig.

Location was great,requests were honored! Secure wifi didn't work which was a bummer. Cabin needs a good vacuum cleaning on edges and corners and a scrub in the corners,very dusty and dirty,not just from having a dog. Front window rubs on swing,move swing toward railing 1" and that should solve it. Bigger fenced in dog run for bigger dogs would be nice too. Bathrooms and laundry were clean.

We had a delightful 2 night stay here. I appreciate that the back in spaces at the edge of the campground, they have reduced the number of spaces. It made our space feel much more spacious and welcoming, rather than sardines in a tin. We use a 20 ft longdry camper van, so it was nice to have room outside. Addy was so friendly and helpful, and the food was good- a nice option!

The campground was all nice and mowed nicely and could hear trimming so you can tell they do it daily. They provide some essentials for rv, tents, and cooking supplies. The staff has a great attitude, and especially the cute brunette working and making the overall mood at the front desk more enjoyable.

Love this campground. It’s away from a lot of the traffic that comes with the area. Great Wi-Fi. I was able to watch Netflix. Just an overnighter. Clean park, friendly staff. Didn’t use any facilities except for the dog park.

This KOA was the best KOA we've ever stayed in. What made the difference for us was the staff. They went out of their way to provide the best customer service we've experienced at any campground in our travels. The icing on the cake for us was when the gentleman delivered our firewood to us in his pajamas. Having said that, it wasn't for the wonderful attire, it was that he did this with a smile even though we had not arrived back to the campground until well after the office was closed and it was already dark. This KOA is beautiful and has all the amenities that a traveller could ask for. It is located within a half hour drive of so many of the attractions in the area. We'll be back and we're hoping to have the same gracious and friendly staff to greet us again.

Our 2nd time camping here! Loved it 2 years ago & just as much this time! We splurged for a patio site this time & it did not disappoint. Nice, comfortable sites, clean restrooms & laundry area, well-kept grounds, super friendly & helpful staff (Special thanks to John & Janny, who were amazing!). Beautiful location & positioned perfectly to easily explore so much of what the Black Hills has to offer. Nice to be able to come back to your campsite after a fun day of exploration & be able to relax comfortably outside with a nice fire (some of the KOAs where we stayed on this trip, simply did not have enough room between sites to do that comfortably). We certainly hope to return...love this area & this KOA is one of favorite campgrounds in the US!
