Not only the highest KOA but the cleanest! The entire staff is professional and treat you like family. Awesome remote location. Been coming to this KOA since 2016. Don’t hesitate just book it!

The only problem was that there was not 24/7 access the the microwave oven. I brought a lot of frozen dinners from home thinking I could microwave them at any time. But with the office closed between 10 am and 2 pm I could not microwave a late breakfast or regular lunch when I wanted. I feel you should install another small microwave oven either in the outdoor kitchen area or near the bathrooms.

Great stay. I love how you set up your primitive camping. Great views. Recommended the store staff stock gloves for hikers wanting to go all the way at Trachyte Knob.

Unfortunately the incoming weather coupled with a large dog who is afraid of thunder forced us to head home a day early. But the campground is well laid out, and the tent sites in trees are private and peaceful. We will definitely stay here again.

Very helpful, flexible, & informative staff. Good location. Very good tent pad. Covered table near parking spot very convenient & helpful vs. winds. Love the bright lights of the laundry room for reading & helpful that it stays open. Key pad for entry works better than most. Expensive site for a tent. Did have to clean off lots of bird poop on my table.

Easy to find and very friendly and helpful staff. Clean facilities. We had a primitive tent site up away from the RVs, in the trees and it was pretty private. Quiet at night when the road noise disappeared. We would definitely come back again!

We love coming up here! Every stay has been enjoyable. All guests are very respectful, the grounds are very well maintained, and the staff are friendly and very accommodating. We will most certainly be back.

This has to be the best KOA that we stayed at on our trip. The kindness and hospitality that was shown to us was more than we could have ever asked for. They welcomed us with open arms and treated us with the utmost respect. The campground was beautiful and clean. I can't wait to return and see the smiling faces that welcomed us on our journey!!!

The tent sites are the best! We love that they are in the trees instead of out in a field. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We will definitely recommend this KOA to our friends.

This has to be the most well-maintained campground in the state. The paths and layout are clean and easy to access. Amenities are fantastic; we love the dog park and outdoor kitchen! The people working here are so friendly too. A special shout-out to the sweet lady greeting and leading people to their sites on her golf cart. You’re campground amazing and we can’t wait to come back!

this was my 1st time camping, and it was a fantastic experiance! Everything was so clean, everyone was so nice, I couldn't have had a better time. It was family friendly and dog friendly. I cannot wait to go back!

It would nice to have the pancake breakfast start at 7:30 am. Also, it would nice to have signs or an automated message reminding guests of quiet hours.

Quiet hours are highlighted on your campground map, which every camper receives and are typically stated in person upon checkin. Our after hours phone number is also on your map, so you can call if your neighbors are disturbing you.

No airport noise, no train tracks within miles, very little road noise, the quietest KOA in five months of camping across the states. The place is clean, everything in working order and it’s beautifully maintained. The owners and staff are some of the hardest working folks I’ve been around in a long time. They make one feel welcome and this will be a go to whenever we’re close by.

The owners take great care of this KOA! Beautiful scenery and awesome amenities. Terrific K9 dog area Lots of fun areas for little people to play. Tent campers the high elevation brings very cold temperatures. Sleeping outdoors requires proper clothing with heated sleeping bags. Keep in mind the thin air can be a challenge if you have asthma or other conditions. A beautiful place to visit!

Great stay. Great amenities! Love that the showers are separate from the actual restrooms. And everything is super clean. Only thing we didn’t like is how close together the campsites are. Our neighbors were up late hanging out. Because we’re so close together it’s loud.

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us in a Deluxe Tent site, Virginia! We try to enforce quiet hours after 10pm but are not able to patrol the park all night. We provide an after-hours phone number and encourage our guests to use it and give us the chance to address problems when they occur.

Pretty neat, secluded tent sites. Rude staff except for the kind man who checked me in. Guests do not respect quiet hours. A steep price for what you get - no water, electricity, and a far walk to the only shower/bathroom. Definitely do not come here if you are not white. I did not feel safe at all.

I am sorry you did not feel safe here, Michelle! Our site is very safe, and we have several women of varied ethnic backgrounds who camp here alone regularly. We have many families from all nationalities who love it here too. Frustrated I can't hear your story; I've tried repeatedly to contact you.

Enjoyed your place. But wish your WiFi covered all of tent sites (we in t3). Also wish tent area had two prepared sites, because it rained both days for us, and prepared site would have been more comfortable.

We've stayed here twice and the customer service is always great. They do serve pizzas and pancakes and that's a very nice. The owner is really friendly and committed to campers enjoying their stays. Views are very nice. The only drawback is that the sites are breast to each other and unshaded. Location is awesome as a hiking basecamp.

Beautiful well taken care of campground with lots of amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the off-leash dog area. The only issue we encountered, which in no part is the fault of the KOA, is there is a shooting club located next to the campground and one of our pups does not do well with loud sounds like gunfire and fireworks.
