Stayed at the Kamping Kabins, nice place to stay, on the side of a mountain and up in the altitude, hard to breath and very cold nights but warms up quickly, no trees around but clean bathrooms and showers. pancake breakfast.

We had a nice quiet time. Well spaced out between RVs and liked the staggered alignment so you didn't feel like a sardine and could see the mountains. Only draw back was it seemed their placement of sewer connections were slightly uphill from the RV and set more for a middle outlet on a unit. Next time we'll pull all the way forward and park in the rear of our unit. Be back in the fall.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

During your next visit lets put you in a site that fits your rig better. We are looking forward to seeing y'all again. Thank you Jimmy & Pamela

Over priced compared to other KOAs I've been to. Not much to do there, no trails, all the land and lakes around the camp ground are fenced off with electric fences. No shuttles will come out from Cripple Creek to take you to town. Staff seemed confused, internet didn't work even though we were like 30 feet away from where the wifi router was.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are the highest KOA in the system. We adjoin 200 acres of State BLM land waiting to be hiked. CO law requires you fence your property if you want to keep open range livestock out. Drive to town is only 5 miles. It is a new season, so we must train new staff. IPhone works on WiFi thru-out the park

One of our favorite KOAs. Even nicer than it looked from the road. Well kept. Stayed longer than we expected.

This is hands down the best KOA we have ever stayed at, and the best campground period. It has beautiful scenery all around, and a great place to have a cozy campfire with the family. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet, very hard working and friendly. They are not in your face on "golf cart patrol" like some campgrounds. We definitely plan on staying here in the future!!!

It is in an awesome location close to Cripple Creek and Victor where you take in the history of the area. I was there when the aspen were at their peak color. I appreciated the option of staying in a Kamping Kabin with a small heater as it was too cold for tenting. Very clean restroom and friendly staff. I will look forward to coming again many times next season.

Beautiful scenery.Unfortunately, the lady in the office was not friendly at all and i felt unwelcome. Also heater barely worked in cabin. The quiet time at 10 was so quiet we felt like we couldn't even get anything out of the car especially with the very squeaky screen door. Also there were only 4 showers for the whole camp with there being like 12 cabins with several people in each so I didn't try.

Sorry our campground is not a perfect match for everyone!!

We enjoyed our stay, but the sewer and electrical hook ups are bad.. We had two spots and had to use all the cord on the trailers to reach, also had a rough time with the sewer lines being up hill. It was terrible trying to get our sewers to drain..

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

keep your rigs to the back of the sites, as close to the sewer as possible, in order for everything to flow downhill.
Sep 17, 2012
Although the park was very neat and well laid out, some of the basic essentials were missing, such as cable TV and decent water pressure. At $60 per night, one should expect more than was offered by this campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Most rigs have satellite these days so cable is no longer an essential. Our water pressure is around 40 PSI at the upper sites, which is good unless you add a pressure regulator on your rig, which typically reduces water pressure by half. It is your prerogative to use a pressure regulator.

This was such a great place we extended our stay instead of moving on to another part of the area. So clean and well stocked I had to ask if the place was new.
