Campground Reviews

more than I'd ever expected from a KOA. beautiful site, tent sites were truly remote.
Aug 06, 2015
It was amazingly beautiful and the staff were awesome. The facilities were very clean and well taken car of.

The deluxe cabin was great. Beautiful area and close to the activities we had planned. Our issue with our stay was one of the owners. She was very abrasive and unkind to us and our children. We didn't feel welcome by her at all. Her husband was very nice though.

Great location & good time. Love the stars!

Campground was extremely well organized and well kept. Check in was quick and easy. I appreciated the flexibility in changing tent sites for convenience. Only fault is there was only one restroom area in the campground.

Had a great time! Tom the owner was super nice and friendly. Only downside was the bathrooms and showers were closed 12-2 daily (but I'm happy there were cleaned daily)and wifi reception was low the farther you were from the store. Other than that we had a blast

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the great review, just want everyone to know we do close the bathrooms at noon to clean but as soon as the floor is dry they are opened. Today it was 1pm. We do have the 2 hour window just in case they are really bad.

Loved it! Beautiful setting!

Thanks glad you had a great stay

I liked this KOA so much last year that I did two days this year during my annual motorcycle trip. The owners are awesome, the grounds are always clean, I just can't say enough good about the place. They were able to give me the same tent pad site that I had last year, which was appreciated. Plan to stay there again next year.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad we were able to make your trip enjoyable. Look forward to your trip next year

This is a beautiful KOA. The facility was great! We enjoyed our stay very much.
Aug 03, 2015
Tight for big rig making opening storage compartment doors difficult. Very friendly and clean. Nice location!
Aug 03, 2015
Loved Cripple Creek. Great bathrooms. Large sites and great views. And a beautiful forest to hike right behind the campgrounds.
Aug 03, 2015
Loved the campsite!! It was beautiful and the neighbors weren't on top of us like other KOAs. Not level but we made it work. The noise at night was surprising, not from other campers but from the mine, in Victor?? Lulled to sleep by the sound of heavy machinery... Tom the owner was nice and helpful. Couldn't say that of Patty though. The bathrooms are a long walk and steep hill from the tent sites.

Nice staff clean facilities enjoyed our stay .
Aug 03, 2015
Direction on web site are very vague, maybe put how many miles from Cripple Creek and or Victor it is.
Aug 03, 2015
If they could have a KOA sign when you are coming from the other side of town it would make the place much easier to find. Great and clean place with friendly hard working owners. Good luck to them in the future.

We just startied RVing this year so wasn't sure what to expect at a KOA but we were pleasantly surprised how clean and quiet this campground was. Host are very nice and helpful and maintain a really nice area. It is close to a variety of "things to do" so there should not be any bored unhappy campers - shopping, casinos, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, etc. Pancakes are served Sat/Sun AM.
Aug 03, 2015
The campsites were very narrow. Also, the wifi was very week and insufficient.
Aug 03, 2015
The property is gorgeous and the facilities are in top-notch condition. Tom is awesome! He was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, the elderly lady that covers for him in the office is another story. I had heard from the neighbors that she was mean, but didn't know what they were talking about. Then I experienced her rudeness myself. But for her, this would have been a 10!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You wanted to return the wood you had purchased which you were told ok but then you brought in all the food you had purchased also at which time you were told no You became verbally abusive towards the employee at which time YOUR wife apologized for YOUR actions

I could tell that the campground was well maintained but the tent site we had was miserable with mosquitos day and night. It did not appear other tent sites were that full of weeds causing the bug issue. I was not allowed to use the restroom being that you have the 2 hour closing rule and was treated rudely by the person cleaning it. I had to pee in a bush. Not impressed and will not return

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You rented a rural tent site in the aspen trees, with all the moisture there are mosquito. We close the restrooms so we can clean and it is clearly posted and you are given the schedule when checking in. In sorry didnt understand the cleaning schedule.

The driveway leading into the campground has zero rocks. Same condition at the campsite. When it rains the motorhome was covered in red clay. Literally after towing the car up the driveway it was totally covered in red dust to the point that you could not see through the windows. Campground policy of no washing of vehicles. They really need some washed rocks. I would not go back until the conditi

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Red Clay?? There is no red clay on this property. Your vehicle may have been covered in dust. The driveway is crushed rock and dirt. We are in the mountains and asphalt would take away from the rustic feel and scenery.

Very friendly and helpful. Showers, restrooms and laundry were very clean. Would definitely stay here again!
Aug 02, 2015

Excellent campground very well kept and clean. We really liked the dog run that was fenced in and all the grassy areas. Every one was very friendly. Restrooms and showers were great..

Staff was very friendly. Facility was clean and nicely decorated. Amenities were greatly appreciated.
Jul 31, 2015
We were pleasantly surprised! Very clean and loved the kamper kitchen. Peaceful, except for some dogs and motorcycles.
Jul 31, 2015
Every one was so friendly and help full! Love the pancake breakfast;)

Large rigs towing have a hard time exiting the sites because of the narrow roads through the RV sites. You can't make the turn when someone is in a site in front or along side of you. You have to hook up in front of the store. The staff was exceptionally nice and the sites were will kept.

The primitive campsite had an unlevel surface for the tent and the people staying in the cabins were very loud.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Primitive campsites are located in the Aspen trees and are undeveloped i.e. primitive. If the noise from the cabins was very loud there is a after hours number on the store door you should have called so staff could address the problem and make your stay more enjoyable.
Jul 28, 2015
This campground has extremely tight spaces, dont reserve with 800 number, call local number to talk with helpful friendly owners, to discuss best avail space to accomodate your specific size rv/ vehicle. We thought we were going to hit neighboring vehicles because most if these spaces and dirt driveways are so close together, but Cripple Creek is a "must" town to visit
Jul 28, 2015
We had a great time taking the kids camping. Tom runs a great spot and look forward to going back! The Malos
Jul 28, 2015
Nice for smaller campers, lovely for tents, and cute cabins. Has nice grass, the wildflowers are beautiful, and the aspen and conifer trees are awesome! Few trees at sites, which is good because there is a pretty view of the surrounding mountains. Only problem was the slope of the sites for class A RV's. Getting out, thought we were going to tip over pulling out! Short pull throughs.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Spaces are between 50 and 62 ft long
Jul 27, 2015
Very friendly, can't beat the view.
Jul 27, 2015
Great staff and clean campground, we will return
Jul 27, 2015
Clean bathrooms, showers nice. Our lot is too steep for the fold out steps. Had to be careful coming out on grass. Noticed other lots were more level. Kids enjoyed volleyball court. It needs some work but we all would like to come back sometime. Dave

Jul 27, 2015
Excellent cept for not having a sewer hook up. Otherwise it was beautiful stay will go back again for sure!
Jul 26, 2015
Outstanding KOA. While the showers weren't the newest, they were very clean and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful.
