Blueberry Picking:

We offer U-Pick blueberry picking FREE to all registered campers. Blueberry plants (Vaccinium spp.) produce white or pink flowers in spring. The flowers are pollinated by bees and soon after, small, green berries form. As the berries mature, they turn from green to pale blue and eventually to a dark blue or even purple color. How do you know when they're ripe? Taste them! Ripe berries will be soft and sweet!

Meet Your Hosts

Matthew Chapman

Welcome to the Covert / South Haven KOA Holiday!

Matt Chapman started his KOA journey in 2018 after semi-retiring and going full-time traveling. Matt and his wife got a bit bored, so they decided to sign up for KOA work camping. The following day Amarillo KOA called looking for help. They jumped right on it and have not looked back since. Matt has worked at several KOAs, starting off in housekeeping. As mentioned before, they started in Amarillo, then went on to Wilcox, Chocorua, Nashville, Virginia Beach, Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA, Albuquerque, and finally at the beautiful Covert / South Haven KOA Holiday.
