Fishing - KOA style

Bring your fishing poles and bait! Our campground features a large, well-stocked lake. Catfish, both small and large mouth bass, bluegill, brim and crappie await both seasoned and novice anglers. You can fish from our pier or anywhere around the lake. (Please note that no one under the age of 18 is permitted behind the fence.) Catch and release is preferred.

Horseshoes Photo

We have a horseshoe pit to the right of the bathhouse, behind the playground and enclosed pet area.  Come to the office to borrow a set of "shoes" to do some pitching!

Like to walk?

If walking is your game, take a walk around our lake - with or without your four-legged kids!  Starting near site 17, the path takes you around the lake, coming out on the opposite side near Dandy Lane.  Continue your walk around to the office and pier - and take time to enjoy some refreshing ice cream in the office - then finish your stroll back to your site. You might even see some fish jump as you enjoy your walk.

Meet Your Hosts

Linda and Roy Byous (Managers/Hosts)

"Welcome to the Clanton / I-65 S / Dandy RV Park!"

The KOA in Clanton, Alabama opened in August 2010. Owners Jim "Dandy" and Tammie Cooley have been in the family-owned RV business for over 35 years. After many years of enjoying the RV lifestyle with their 3 children, they finally decided to pursue a dream of Jim Dandy's to open a KOA Kampground. In August 2010, they opened the KOA in Clanton, Alabama at I-65's Exit 208.

The campground has 50 spacious sites, each with a variety of newly planted shade trees, gated children's play area, fire rings, 30/50 amp at all sites (no extra charge) free wi-fi, picnic tables, free cable TV, nature walking trail, stocked 8 acre lake, pet walk area, outdoor open air lighted pavilion, and a state of the art laundry room - just to name a few of the amenities.

Campers can enjoy free hot coffee (or hot chocolate) Monday - Saturday mornings from 8:00 am - 10:00 am in the office. Popcorn is also a daily treat for all campers!
