Campground Reviews

GOOD TIME BUT QUIET TIME SHOULD BE AT 11PM
Jul 27, 2015
Wonderful friendly place. It was very peaceful as well. WiFi could be better though.

Kabin & bathroom was very clean ! The pool needs some long overdue maintenance as does the pond. You advertise a pond for fishing on your website. Fishing was one of the things we were going to do with our grandson and we could not even reach the pond. The weeds and trail leading to and from was very overgrown. Game room smells strongly of mold and mildew

cabin small but nice

staff is terrific, bathrooms clean. the grounds need upkeep. kids said the grass was overgrown to the pond for fishing. pool was fine, but the surrounding area and fence needed weeding and upkeep. the KOA is close to everything. we did enjoy ourselves. thank you.

The campground was very nice but the wifi was sketchy at best.

Loved our stay! Everything was clean & comfortable. The pool was beautiful. An excellent experience!

Very good and quiet place.

Very nice campground. Quiet wooded setting. Clean and neat. Proprietors are friendly and helpful. Good place to stay if visiting Monticello
Jul 25, 2015
Its not the campground's fault but there is extremely poor cell phone reception in this area - making emergencies a problem!

Petit camping très propre et tranquille
Jul 24, 2015
Nice campground. Staff was very helpful. No Verizon cell service. I did not know pay phones still existed. One was available. About 15 miles out of town. However it was neer some historical sites.

Very nice place very friendly workers.

We stayed there after a concert in Charlottesville. It was a close & lovely stay. The cabins are so cozy, & the staff always offers us the same one which is awesome. We love KOA.

Everything was great from the site, to the location, grounds and employees 😊!!

Our stay was peaceful and relaxing, however, there should be more than one person working the office.

All the best KOA featured are here: reasonable cost, nice well-maintained facilities, great location and super friendly staff. This campground gets an A+ and I will definitely return!
Jul 21, 2015
The grounds were nice & pool. The entrance was at a bad curve on 708. Complimentary or coffee to purchase would have been helpful.
Jul 21, 2015
Nice young man gave written directions to Waltons Museum. They were accurate and we were able to visit this special attraction.

For a KOA it is not bad.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH OUR STAY, IT WAS ONE OF THE CLEANEST RV PARKS THAT WE HAVE STAYED AT!

We stayed in a cabin for the first time. Very pleasant! The staff was very helpful and hospitable. The pool was warm and necessary for a hot day after site seeing. Would def. stay again.

Have stayed at this KOA before and will return again when visiting. Quiet, clean, easy heck in and convenient to everything.

Close to Monticello. Nice bathrooms. Nice pull thru
Jul 18, 2015
Great place and friendly staff.
Jul 17, 2015
1. Some of the interior roads and rv sites need to be regraveled. 2. Poor cable connection 3. The fenced in dog run was overgrown and ended up walking dogs in empty sites.
Jul 16, 2015
Wifi non existent and cell service not available at sites. Worse, there was not much effort made to ensure level sites. Campground entrance sits on a blind curve and signage is poor.
Jul 16, 2015
The campground had everything we needed and we met a bunch of nice people :) Employees were also very friendly and helpful!

This is a great KOA! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the sites are level & a good size and the Kampground is clean. They have a lot of activity amenities too. I did not go in the bathroom but my husband said they are nice & clean. I would definitely recommend someone to stay here.

We had a great stay at KOA Charlottesville. It was very clean and the cabin was extremely nice, but the air conditioner in the bed room made constant noises during the night. It was very annoying. I would love to stay there again, but there was a huge problem-there was NO phone service the entire time I was there. The young guy who worked there said it was because I had Verizon service.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have no control over cell phone service or where cell phone companies put up cell phone towers. Some Verizon phones work better than others.

We only stayed one night on our way through but would like to come back for a longer stay.

Good location and lovely pool
Jul 13, 2015
This campground is in such a beautiful setting, as well as being convenient to Monticello and other Charlottesville attractions. The staff is very accommodating and the site we were given had a fantastic view.
Jul 13, 2015
This was a great stay. Unfortunately we were only there for one night in a Kabin, with visits to Monticello, Michie's Tavern, and Carter's Orchard bookending the visit. We were not able to enjoy the full benefits of the campground, but we did really like what we saw and the service that we got.
Jul 13, 2015
I wish the wifi range was a bit more. Other than that, seems a very nice camp. Clean and in good repair.
Jul 13, 2015
I love this place. Always so nice and taken care of.
Jul 13, 2015
The park was not well maintained and the sites were primitive.
Jul 13, 2015
Clean bathhouse, friendly service and easy access from the interstate. Lots of local sites like vineyards, hiking and tubing on the James River.
Jul 13, 2015
Ashley and Dane were extremely helpful. Sites were generally very narrow and not very level front to back. Rain runoff area was under the picnic table and was wet the entire time. Briars had encroached on the site and was a problem during hookup and break down. Picnic table had rotten board. Wifi was awful. The area is beautiful and convenient to Charlottesville.

Really enjoyed being able to camp so close to home (Esmont), but there was a group of campers who disrupted the campground Sat. night by fighting/arguing very loudly, using very vulgar language. It went on for about 20 minutes and we didn't know who to call.
Jul 12, 2015
Great place, friendly staff. My concern is - who designed the camper hook up location. I had to spend $16 to make the cable work. The elec , water and cable was 20 feet forward of where I backed in. (24' Winnebago View. - all hookup on left rear. On a side note, my fellow campers had the same issue! (4 to be exact)

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our cable is free. We sell coax cable in the store if you do not have your own cable cord but that is only $10. I'm not sure you are talking about the correct campground.
Jul 10, 2015
This is the first time I have ever stayed at a KOA. I am not used to being crammed into sites that are so close together. We were so close to the other RVs that we decided to just stay inside the RV. The only good thing about this place is the clean showers and restrooms, and also the TV and wifi hookup.
Jul 10, 2015
I was extremely impressed with this small, quiet campground. The owners were welcoming and very professional. The store was well stocked and the bathrooms were clean. My favorite part of the campground was the beautiful Nature Trail around a charming pond. I highly recommend stay here, if you are visiting Charlottesville. The only issue I had was lack if phone reception and that can't be helped.
