Bathrooms are spotless!! Love the trees! Staff was friendly and helpful--we will be back again and again!

We had the unfortunate luck of a rainy weekend. Most of the site we had was submerged under 4-6" of water the entire weekend even after the rain had stopped which made for a messy stay. It was a bit of an inconvenience not being able to use the laundry facilties after 7 PM as we went through most of our towels on day one.

We loved the cabin. It was our first time staying in one. It was rainy and cold so I'm glad we decided not to tent camp. I miss having a fire ring to make a fire though. We had some drunk teenagers beside us the first night but other than that it was good. Very clean and people were nice.

WE WERE WITH FRIENDS THAT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEIR POP UP CAMPER. WE WALKED OVER TO THE MAIN BUILDING, THE DOOR WAS LOCKED AND THE GUY INSIDE SAW US AT THE DOOR. THEY WANTED TO RENT ONE OF THE CABINS AND WAS UNABLE TO. tHANK GOODNESS WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE TENT UP AFTER 3 HOURS OF WORKING ON IT........ I UNDERSTAND THE OFFICE CLOSES AT 8 BUT THAT WAS REDICULOUS

We were dissapointed.

Sites are overgrown, too short for today's RVS and very muddy. A pull thru is not a pull thru because the trees overhang the site and you have to back out. There is no cable TV. Too many year around rentals with marginal unattractive RVS. In short, if I owned the KOA brand I would tell them to put major dollars into the park. The park degrades the KOA brand.

Nice accommodations. Very happy there was a Kabin cancellation so we didn't have to set up tents in the dark and pouring rain. I appreciate your staff staying several minutes late to help me out too.

STAY HERE EVERY YEAR AND THE BEST. PEOPLE ARE WONDERFUL.

Had a hard time getting our camper out the day we left. Luckily had no one across from us, moved picnic tales and where able to cut through. Also very sandy site while many grass covered ones available.

Charleston KOA looks run down. The staff are not particularly friendly or helpful, the friendliest was the man collecting garbage bags --he waves and says hi to everyone. We are not likely to stay there again.

This campground was very muddy. Also, there appeared to be too many people living in the campground, not camping, but living in their campers. Was not a clean, family oriented place. I would not recommend this campgroung at all to anyone.

The park was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The problem was that it seemed to be geared for much smaller units . We were pulling a 35 foot trailer with a Cheve Silverado. Next to us was one of your 5th wheel KOA trailers pulled by a truck. This was the size of most of the units. We left about 6 a.m. Pull Vehicles were parked so close we had to walk the park in the dark

The stay was very nice except for 1 night when tenters carried on until after 1:00 am.

Drainage from rain made it very unpleasant to walk pets or go out of coaches in pull through sites. Folks were accommodating and pleasant, I believe they are trying to improve the park so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Nice place, but i don't know why it only had 1 bathhouse or was there another 1
Apr 15, 2013
Very clean and the staff was great. It was a bit noisy at night due to the closeness of a major road and fire station. Other than that, it was quite pleasant.

Big mud hole right in front of campsite, did not dry up even after 3 days of no rain. It needs repair. Front desk do not know which sites have 50amp hookup. I was sent twice to a site with 30amp only.
Apr 14, 2013
Sewer hookups should be mid-site,not at the road!!

We were very disappointed with the 'seasonal' section of this campground when we took walk. Very unkept campers, never exp this at the many other KOAs we've stayed at. Very scary. Row B&C also unkept but saw the 'hustle' of clean up b4 the mgmt KOA camper arrived though...Also we req specific site, u said - no, but it was never occ. the whole time there (4 days). Dog walk a dump site? Ugh!

We stayed in a tent site for two nights and found this campsite very nice. Friendly staff and clean facilities - reasonably priced laundry too. A bit of noise from the main road but that is my only negative.
Apr 12, 2013
Had to switch camp sites to be able to receive the internet and could only receive the pbs tv stations. After switching sites to B3 which is only 4 from the office we received some internet but still no tv other than the public tv stations(etv) new site was B3. would not want to get into this situation again, we made our reservation 3 weeks in advance and still had problems finding a pull through

Campground was designed when RV's were shorter and trees smaller. Crowded, so had to back out of a pull through site to exit the park. Comfortable park.
Apr 11, 2013
pleasant staff, clean camping areas, clean laundry area, no cable but 18 channels by antenna. WiFi spotty maybe due to changing tower to cover the bridge run. Would stay there again. Spring flowers were beautiful.

Very nice campground, picturesque, clean and quite

Spaces were to close together!!! No concrete to park RV on and it was noisy!!!
Apr 10, 2013
this is the first KOA I've stayed at where most sewer dumps were situated near the RV door. If you moved from it, you would need almost 3 lengths of sewer hose to reach the dump!
Apr 10, 2013
Wifi is good if there are few people there - if more, it bogs down badly. Rush hour traffic past the entry is terrible; enter from the east and exit to the west. Supermarket nearby; downtown Summerville is cute 5 miles away. Good for a short stay.

Enjoyed our visit very much
Apr 09, 2013
We had a wonderful time! They could do a bit of work in the laundry area.
Apr 09, 2013
the dog walk/play area was very undesirable, kennel run down, walk area seemed like a city trash area. WiFi reception was very poor
Apr 09, 2013
Shower was not working, one towlet was held together with shoelace. Weekend staff the young people did not really know what was going on. The man running the place seemed to be trying to run everything very close to the bone and trying to cover everything himself.
Apr 08, 2013
The campground has obvious drainage issues. Large lakes of water on the roads and large lakes and mud at the camp sites. Does not make it enjoyable to be outside and walk around your site. This is an obvious old problem that needs to be repaired

The bathrooms were extremely clean. The cleaning lady deserves a raise. Thank you.

Everything was clean n comfortable..distance from interstate was short..Staff was helpful. Would have liked to have had cable, since it was too cold to go out. Had to rent some DVDs. S
Apr 08, 2013
No cable-not good. Campground was poorly laid out for drainage. Newly dug up area next to my unit made it impossible to get in and out without stepping in mud. Also needed is a gravel "fan" so that when leaving a site you don't have to drive on the grass (or mud in my case). Worst KOA I've stayed in during 20 years of RV'ing.

all was great need camp fire rings and dogs was allow to stay in cabins. we had to leave are small babys at home we did not like that.
Apr 07, 2013
We slept in a tent the first night, but when there were frost warnings, we stayed in the delightful cabin. Great experience!

Campground was neat and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful, but the access in and out of the park on HWY 78 was scary at times and we were disappointed that cable was unavailable and we were never able to access the wifi.
