Tent Reviews

Sep 23, 2013
pool and hot tube were green cesspools. They were the main reason we chose KOA instead of a campground.
Sep 17, 2013
Cascade Locks KOA is an ok camp ground but having stayed at many other KOAs there is nothing special about it. No laundry, no jacuzzi, no pool. The wifi reception was poor and the staff was just there no helpfulness or kindness.
Sep 12, 2013
The trains are the only distraction at night. Otherwise very nice.
Sep 07, 2013
Some of the park facilities are dated but it was clean and staff were very friendly.
Sep 03, 2013
Train horns blast late at night and early in the morning. REALLY LOUDLY!! Pool badly in need of repairs. Bathrooms can't really handle those days when full to capacity.
Sep 02, 2013
Check in after 9pm was easy, a paper with our name and site was taped to office door. Site was small, but somewhat sheltered among the trees. The trains were awful...loud horns blasting almost every hour through the night & day! If no trains I would stay here again. Pool/hot tub looked dirty. Overall fun experience, nice staff, and kid enjoyed the bike rental and playground!

I read the previous posts - so the train was not a surprise. The surprise was the pancake breakfast - all you can eat for a really decent price. Expect Great company of other campers, facilities and really nice staff.
Aug 26, 2013
Very loud campground. Trains ~50 yards from camp, honking horns all night.not to mention loud music playing well past quiet hours. upside, the workers were very kind and helpful.
Aug 26, 2013
I was not able to choose my campsite as one was allocated to me. At other campsites I have always had a choice. Also it was too close to other campers so I did not feel like I was having a real camping experience.one couple had a strong lantern that illuminated the whole area including ours flooding us in light we did not want. There at least 10 trains that hooted throughout the night .
Aug 23, 2013
The pancake breakfast was a wonderful treat after packing, driving & camping for the night. Simple pleasures of evening dip in the pool & breakfast made for us really made the trip.
Aug 22, 2013
TRAINS...TRAINS...TRAINS! If you want a restful nights sleep...go somewhere else. The railroad track runs right by the campground at night and they BLOW their horns. we won't be back!
Aug 22, 2013
Staff was friendly and helpful. Amenities were okay. Location was terrible, nestled between a busy road connecting the Interstate and a very active freight-train line.
Aug 21, 2013
The campground it self was nice. The bathrooms need a bit of updating. The staff was wonderful, but the trains that go by. During our stay it was like ever 20 to 30 minutes. They blow there horn and us being in a tent it was SOOOO LOUD!!! If the trains weren't around it would be a 10.
Aug 19, 2013
The staff are friendly and knowledgable. they help us with inforamtion about surrounding events as well as a few pointers on putting are tent. My teenagers loved the WIFI ability.thanks for your great experience.

Wonderful, staff were great very friendly. Camp lay out is good, facilities were very clean. Enjoyed my 3 nights.
Aug 15, 2013
Very cramped. Lots of loud trains. Very outdated facilities. Overpriced. Poor location
Aug 14, 2013
Nice camp site. KOA was clean and quite.

Too noisy, re trains all night kong

Facilities were pretty clean. The sites are a little close together and there is a train line running behind the whole site which may keep you awake at night.
Aug 08, 2013
Very nice people and lots of good soft space for tenters. Missing is a pool and stronger WiFi.
Aug 06, 2013
This campground is very close to the main freight train line along the Columbia river with trains going by late at night complete with horns, bells and the very ground rumbling under the tent - not a great experience. Also sites are very close together and only one bathroom!

The campground was OK, but the very loud noise from the very nearby train made it impossible to sleep. Sorry, but I would not recommend this campground because of it's location in relation to the train track and do not plan to return myself. Too bad, it was otherwise OK and the staff was very nice.

We camped in a tent and everything was great except for the dusty road. Each time a vehicle passed it would cover us with dust. More gravel would have been nice.
Aug 02, 2013
We missed "Thomas" the cat. He used to greet us every time we camped out there.
Aug 01, 2013
Our tent was six feet away from the other tents, so no privacy. The train kept going by all night and blowing its whistle right beside the campground. The pool looked old and in need of upgrading. The sight was on dirt and no grass. The area is very pretty so at least that made up for the campground being awful.

great tent sites. good showers. like having a dish washing sink. Love the pancakes1
Jul 29, 2013
It was good considering we just needed a place to tent camp for the night. It's great that the fire pit was very clean for us. And everyone loved having inexpensive pancake breakfast in the morning.

I really liked the large tent sites. I could have lived without the trains but other than that had a great stay.
Jul 25, 2013
We were staying for the weekend for the National Motocross race at Washougal. The campground was perfect, with showers, a sink to do dishes, swimming pool to keep the kids busy. The train tracks are close but I slept through it.
Jul 22, 2013
Packed in like sardines and no mention of the freight train that passes right next to the site made for an uncomfortable stay.
Jul 22, 2013
Great staff, clean facilities, beautiful site. Only one flaw, the coal train. They come every 2 hrs. and blow their horn for the crossing. It rattles your teeth.
Jul 22, 2013
The campground was a convenient location, clean grounds, the front desk lady wasn't the most cheerful...but overall a good stay
Jul 20, 2013
The older KOA Staff here was very knowledgeable & kept the place running like a clock. Althought it was an older facility it was kept very clean. I would go back even with the train noise.
Jul 19, 2013
Stayed on the 4th of July weekend. We tented and the noise of the trains wasn't as bad as expected. Much worse was noise from family group a few sites over.

Jul 16, 2013
Good facility but I did not like the noise of train.
Jul 16, 2013
Hosts were very friendly. Facilities were clean and convenient. Very close to train tracks. I had no issues with the noise but my wife and several other follow campers lost sleep over the frequent trains rolling by.
Jul 15, 2013
This is a very nice kampground surrounded by pine trees that kept us cool in the summer. About 30 min to Portland, and near several state forests, this place was a good central location for hikers. The only issue was the proximity to the railroad tracks that featured a train blaring it's horn about every 5 minutes (slightly less often at night).
Jul 15, 2013
The campground is right on the train tracks. Trains went through all night honking their horn.
Jul 15, 2013
We have always liked this campground And return there several times per year. We always reserve the exact same spot however this time we were not given the spot we reserved. I called and specifically asked for the spot when making reservations. And they were not very friendly about accommodating us. We were upset and may not stay there again. It ruined our weekend.
Jul 15, 2013
It was perfect for us ! Very nice campground
Jul 15, 2013
Small sites on top of each other next to moving vehicles. 40.92/night (for a tent!) with a train that runs through/next to the campground every 30-60 mins, extra charge for bikes, lame pancakes and no free coffee. That and it was incredibly dusty. Surprised they didn't have a quarter machine for their 3 showers. I'd rather spend ten bucks more for a motel or sleep in my car.

Convenient store was GREAT and very reasonable. Pool was wonderful to use but merky. Other campers were rude and up WAY too late (3am). Bathroom stalls were too small especially when trying to help a child. Train going by all hours of the night blowing its horn.
Jul 09, 2013
The campsites are way to close together. The train is right next to the site and goes at all hours of the night . It took 5 hours for night staffers to quite really nosiey campers. Other staffers were great!
Jul 08, 2013
It was great place and nice staff. What I complain is the site is really to the train track.
