Campground Reviews

Jun 11, 2013
This place had several things working against them, no disrespect to the staff because the were great people, but the campground could use a little updating. We stayed on a Saturday & every site was filled. The bathrooms were outdated, only 3 showers and 3 low flush toilets. It seemed to get a lot of traffic due to the falls nearby. It was crowded. Probably better on a weekday instead to enjoy.

The train traffic was high and the train whistle very loud.

Clean it up. Designate an area for your equipment and old junky picnic tables and install a privacy fence around it. They are eyesores . How about paving the "overrun" sites by the big open tenting area. We paid the same as other paved sites and got an unmowed rocky parking spot..

We have stayed at many KOAs across the country and would rate this as one that needs some upgrading. The public facilites were not clean and the garbage was overflowing and even after it was picked up there was garbage left on the ground. Certainly not what we have become used to in staying at KOAs for the past 5 years.

Nice park, unfortunate trains so often and so close!

The cabin I rented was filthy, the blinds were caked with dirt, there was trash and food under the bed. Overall I was very disappointed.

The train going by really is a bother. I would not recommend it or return because of this issue. Also, the picnic tables are very small - more for children than adults.

TRAIN WAYYYY TOO CLOSE

Campgrounds were nicely spaced and situated under beautiful shady pine trees. Unfortunately, train tracks run along back of campgrounds.Nice place to stay if trains going by all day and night blowing their whistles doesn't bother you. My 13 yr.-old wanted to enjoy the hot-tub/spa but no one under 18 allowed.I can see maybe 12 and under not being allowed but having to be 18 is a bit unreasonable.

Very nice KOA and we could make a FIRE.

Nice helpful staff. Very pretty location. Good TV. Internal roads, etc, poorly maintained. Wi-Fi is really bad...I mean it sucks! This is a typical old KOA that is continually going downhill.

The most rude and unprofessional staff I have ever encountered at a KOA. I gave serious consideration to cancelling my membership and going with Good Sam. Jeanne, who checked me in later in the evening when I had a problem and talked to her was rude and confrontational. Whoever they sent to fix the electrical problem was incompetent, and knew it all!! If you want more info e-mail me for facts.

I was disapointed that there was no microwave in cabin. No bed linens and a small heater. A train comes by all night and blows the horn. Good luck getting any sleep. The bathrooms are clean, and the area was nice. The jacuzzi was not working.

Don't blow down the pads or roads anywhere near where someone is camping. We had dust everywhere.
Jun 04, 2013
Please turn off the dust buster. We had dust everywhere.

Terrible train noise all night. Not designed for big rigs. Impossible to use satellite tv. Smoke from campfires hangs around all day!

This campground is a great location for hikes in its vicinity. We selected it for easy access to the Eagle Creek Trail and the Dog Mountain Trail. The Bridge of the Gods is really convenient for hikes on both sides of the Columbia.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin and loved it! Your campground is well maintained and the people who work there are very friendly and approachable. The pool was a good temp and the grounds were clean for bike riding and walking the dog. This was a very nice 1st time camping for our 5 year old. She loved it and so did we! Thanks!

I remember camping here as a child 35 years ago. I was quickly reminded of the very busy train corridor next to the campground. Be sure to have a noise machine to drown out the sound. Otherwise it's a beautiful location.

Beautiful campground in the trees.

Your personnel were great! They were very helpful. The women's restroom needs better lighting, but otherwise it was very nice. the train whistles are a bit much for those of us not used to them. However for a first venture with our trailor it was fun.

Muddy site. It was raining & very messy. Site was gravel, but not good condition. No satellite connection.

The people were very friendly, the place was clean and the sites are shady and not right next to each other....But there is a train that runs all day and night blowing it's horn. It is so close it sounds like it runs through the campground

Be side the rain we love it there. Quiet and peaceful and friendly people. We have been coming back since 2001. The owners are the best..

The staff was friendly and helpful. The site was clean and as expected. The reason I gave this a lower score was because this KOA is 25 feet from a freight train railroad. The trains were loud and they would blow their horn every time they passed...all ours of the day and night. We will not stay here again because of the noise.

The pool was cloudy and needed some assistance. There were no kids activities scheduled like many of the other locations do. Staff weren't very knowledgable with the park and seemed to always have to refer to someone else for an answer. The grounds were clean and the cabin was great. Thanks for two heaters.

This is the second time I have stayed here in the past month and I plan to return again! The staff is great and so is the campground!

Good location. Many things to do close by. Pool was good. Showers were great, clean, nice water pressure. Would stay again. Train close but never bothered me during sleep.
May 28, 2013
One stall in the womens restroom was closed entire weekend with no explanation. There was no mention in the online writeups of the dozens of freight trains during the day and night. The horns from trains (at least 6 from midnight to 6am) will wake you up. Office staff was not cordial nor friendly when kids (Ages 16 and 20) borrowed horse shoes. (They were returned on time). Firepits too small

Nice area. Loved our cabin. Overpriced compared to cabins in state parks with kitchens. Very noisy many trains. Counted 10 from checking in to bed time the first night. Many throughout the night

The people were GREAT! The camping area was GREAT! We were only unhappy about the miserable TRAIN. The horn woke us up every time it went by, and was very annoying. I realize you don't have a ton of money and places to put a KOA are few, but perhaps you might offer free earplugs??
May 26, 2013
There are 80 trains per day that go directly behind this campground, and 24/7 they blow the whistles several times as they go by. No advance warning in the KOA listing or by the staff. We were exhausted by the time we left.
May 26, 2013
We di not expect to be camping right beside a railway line with trains passing by our site constantly all night long and also blasting their loud whistles - we got no sleep and had to leave.
