We absolutely love coming to this KOA. Every single time, it's perfect. It's clean, there's plenty of activities for kids, the staff is FANTASTIC, and prices are very reasonable. No matter where you stay in the campground, it's an easy walk to the beach or pool. There is a ramp now which allows for you to take a cooler or wagon to get to the ocean without lugging it up and down staires.

Have been coming here for 20 years. This year we stayed 3 weeks, hoping it would be long enough to want to go back home. Unfortunately, all we learned is that we could stay here forever! Thanks for being great hosts!

We love the location, being on the beach, great pool and enjoy the sound side as well. For the money you pay the our lot could be nicer.

The stay was fine. When I initially checked in the clerk (don’t know name) didn’t check to see if I had any points to apply toward the stay. I guess I thought that was standard procedure.

We absolutely love the Rodanthe OBX campground, we always visit a week in May and a week in July and also try to get back for a week in October if we can. It is always so clean and the staff is always very friendly with lots of fun activities for the kids. My husband travels with his work so we stay at multiple KOA campgrounds throughout the year and this one definitely exceeds the expectations!

Just wrapped up 8 days staying at one of the dune front RV sites. Can’t say enough about the friendly staff and overall experience. Lots of activities for young kids while the older ones made their own adventures. Bathhouses always stocked and clean. Used the laundry once during our stay and never had to wait for a unit. Already rebooked for next summer.

Shower houses gross, hot tub never worked, our neighbor behind us moved their burn circle right behind our slide out and smoked us out the whole time. This Koa has definitely gone downhill.

We had a great time. Campground was well kept except the bathrooms were not. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness and that would be the only reason why we would not really recommend it.

We had an amazing time. We were able to relax by the pool and go to the beach. I loved how we were able to go see the wild horses and visit the lighthouse. We definitely want to come again.

Well maintained grounds, great pool, great beach access, great sound access. Some of the staff are super friendly and helpful (Dawn is great!) some of the staff are grouchy and unpleasant.

Awesome, like always. Unfortunatly, the showers in the bath house (close to the jumping pillow, on the “main” street) were horrible. Full of hair, dirt. Was much better the previous years. Our showers were disgusting us. Too bad, everything else was perfect.

We loved so much about the island and the campground that we are making plans to return. The beach was great. The pool was fantastic. The activities were fun and something to look forward to. The only complaint is that two campers behind our site were turned (to avoid the evening sun) directly at our campsite. So we had no privacy when we were out of our trailer. That was very annoying.

The shower house we used was disgusting.The fans were full of dust, the ceiling had mildew, the showers weren’t clean.It had been a long time since the showers were cleaned.It went beyond sand, etc.I have pictures.My spouse does not have pictures from the shower but it was just as bad.There wasn’t a clear path to the beach & the outside shower was full of sand.We camp at beaches this isn’t n

Lots of Saturday activities which gave us the ability to use late check-in. Clean camp area with convent facilities and peaceful nighttime atmosphere. Heavy rain on Sunday which dampened morning activities.

This is our second year staying at this KOA for our summer vacation. We enjoyed ourselves and really dreaded coming home. The only suggestion we have is the bath houses should be deep cleaned more often & the steps have a large drop off to the sand from the main beach access that needs to be filled; hard for young children & older adults. We’ll be back next year!

We had an amazing time. There is so much to do for kids and adults. What impressed me the most was the staff..they are always super helpful super friendly and doing their best for the kids to have fun! We will be back many times!

It was our first time staying at a KOA campground and we really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We even decided staying an extra day because we enjoyed the campground so much and luckily were able to and stay at our site without having to move thanks to the helpful staff. The trash pick up at your campsite in the morning was very nice!

This is our third time camping here and it is my wife's favorite KOA but last night a live band was playing outside called The Carolina Sweaters and I am camping here with my two young kids and my son and I were shocked and appalled to hear the band saying "Godd@mn motherf@@ker " as part of their lyrics on their last song over and over again on their loud speakers. Not very family friendly.

Had a great time. South bath house was cleaner than last year. Air conditioning in south bath house was not working well. Missed having the Pirate Ship water battle. Kids favorite activity all week normally. Heard the Pirate Ship will return next year.

Our stay was enjoyable. We love being so close to the beach and enjoyed it daily. Your team of workers were very helpful. The bath house was only cleaned in the morning. It needed to be freshened up a few times a day. There we're a lot of campers using it. The cable was out for 24 hrs. We weren't notified it was out and how long it would take to repair. 2 of the 6 washer & dryers out of order.

We travel all over the States each year staying exclusively at Koa’s now because 1) you pretty much are assured a certain level of cleanliness and safety and 2) Ease of finding a Koa on our route most times. This year we have been to about 23 Koa camp grounds just to give you our Koa experience. I have to say Cape Hatteras is by far the best we have been to. We will be back.

Dune site wasn’t level, couldn’t utilize full hook up b/c the sewer line was above ground, and couldn’t get the camper high enough to get it drain properly. Never had this issue before in any of our camping experience! The price you pay, for these sites this should not be an issue! Great trip and great stay. Great live bands and other activities for the kids. Only 1 issue. The bounce pad. Between sites 809 and 811 the power to bounce pad must be better secured. Need a commercial timer (80 bucks on Amazon) in a separate locked box mounted on site 811 power pedestal. Keep the kids from coming nto the sites after hours and powering blower

We had a fun time but wished for more! TV was less than adequate without any local broadcasting that would have included weather and other newsworthy stories. Internet was available (?) but not usable at all! LTE Verizon phone service was the only thing that actually sort-of worked. Restroom facilities need to be cleaned more than once a day especially by the pool and Tiki Bar. GROSS!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
